When pulled in a clockwise direction halfway around the throne's base, the throne slides back along the stone bridge to the north and reveals a spiral staircase leading down.

Climbing down until one can look around the corner and into what lies beyond you face an unexpected sight — an elaborate underground garden lit by softly glowing crystals in the ceiling twenty feet above. Gravel walkways wind between verdant trees and shrubs that rustle softly in a gentle breeze that seems to come from nowhere. As the garden’s centerpiece, cracked granite benches surround a cobblestone fountain filled with crystal-clear water. To the south, a gently flowing creek runs across a pebbly streambed that passes through a rock garden and into an iron grill drain along a passageway to the south. To the north, a lone almond tree stands in alcove, while to the west, a double arch leads to a small circular room. Four sandstone sculptures chiseled into the forms of huge angry faces stand throughout the room.

@Urah
Want to try a Knowledge Planes? Eventually you will be able to see them as they come to Gnasher.

I'll get a combat post up soon.

Urah cowers as he realizes that his spells are severly lacking for a situation like this, and he is nowhere near brave enough toput himself in a posiiton where they would be. In the lull that follows, two of the creatures bolt over towards Gnasher and do their best to give him a beat down. In spite of the many legs which one would thing they would use to crawl about on, they fly instead. It just makes them even more creepy as those legs wobble about until they get near to Gnasher at which point they all start reaching for him. And there are a lot of legs. In other words you get the feeling that on a full attach the legs will start clawing

One of them gets a bite in but is unable to latch on with it's long, pointy, grasping teeth. It licks it's lips with enjoyment after tasting the lovely blood.

And those eyes! Fascinating!

I need DC 14 fort saves from all of you except Urah who is cowering and looking into his hands instead.

There are options when dealing with a creature with a gaze attack. You can close your eyes and fight blind and not have to deal with it or you can avert your eyes and takes some combat penalties to minimize the risk. But since you did not know about the gaze attack that is not an option for you during this round.

Fort Save: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (19) + 13 = 32

Malgrim gathers the power of life giving water around him and sends a powerful bolt at the one he has a better shot at.

I am not sure if I have cover or not. I am not sure what the little circles along the path represent. I attack blue as I would have less cover against that one. Gather Power, Empower and Blast!

Water Blast w/Elemental Overflow , PBS : 1d20 + 8 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 8 + 1 + 2 = 30

Damage, B, Water Blast w/Elemental Overflow , PBS: 3d6 + 9 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (6, 5, 4) + 9 + 4 + 1 = 29

That should hit regardless of Cover. So if AC 30 (26) hits then blue takes 43 bludgeoning damage.

second fort save for Malgrim: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (14) + 13 = 27

With or without cover, Malgrim's shot is true and the creature is sorely wounded.

You can use lob shot here as the place is quite roomy. Those posts are only a few feet high and do not pose significant obstruction unless you crouch behind them, in which case they would provide partial cover.

The spider-like thing has more luck on the second go-around and sings its teeth lustily into the Tiger-Tarak's flank, grappling him and sucking his blood (which does 2 con damage - OUCH)! It's legs start twitching spasmodically in excitement.

Attacking the two strange creatures, Gnasher gives a wolfish grin at the satisfying crunch of the spider-like arms of the creatures. Turning from the first creature to the second, he flinches as the thing attacks, striking with two claws. Bloodied he attacks again biting and clawing at the orange thing.

ok moot point I failed both.

Urah looks up and..............................................

Only one fort save was needed by Urah since the Yellow thing is not in his line of sight.

Urah stiffens and locks gazes with Orange, unable to tear his eyes away and unable to move a muscle. But then Gnasher drops the nearest *thing* and Urah unstiffens as it falls to the ground and the staring contest is ended prematurely (at least from the perspective of the anti-cute critter).

I think you have the damage, con damage and grappled condition on the wrong character. I think you put that on Malgrim and it was supposed to be on Tarak.

Fortitude: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (9) + 13 = 22

Fortitude: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (11) + 13 = 24

Malgrim tries again to destroy the creature that is now clinging to Tarak.

Gather Power, Empower and blast Yellow.

Water Blast w/Elemental Overflow , PBS : 1d20 + 8 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 8 + 1 + 2 = 13

Damage, B, Water Blast w/Elemental Overflow , PBS: 3d6 + 9 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (2, 3, 5) + 9 + 4 + 1 = 24

Never mind. But great fortitude saves.

I'll use my Inexplicable Luck for today to add the +4 so I can pass

Lost in animal fury, Tarak doesn't worry about the thing holding him or even it draining his life, he just resorts to instinct and continues to rend and tear with teeth and claws.

Claw: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17

I don't think there's an negatives to attacking while grappled. With the con drained I think I have 21 effective HPs

Nice to see one of the freebie feats being used! The con drain is con, not con bonuses. You loose 1 HP per level for every 2 con loss, plus one if you have toughness or something.

Tarak's mojo is all messed up due to the fact that he is grappled (incurring a -2 to hit. Cited rule: A grappled creature takes a –2 penalty on all attack rolls and combat maneuver checks, except those made to grapple or escape a grapple) and misses with every attack. This is just not right! Tiger Tarak is supposed to be the grappler, not the grappled!

standard action to maintain grapple: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (13) + 12 = 25
damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
blood drain: 1d2 ⇒ 1

The bulbuous Rast, as you will one day find out it is called, is now able to really dig in to dinner.

DC 14 fort save: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13Paralyzing Gaze?

Caught up in the blood lust of combat Gnasher turns to attack the last spider=like creature. Seeing Tiger-Tarak grappled, he inadvertently makes eye contact with the creature and freezes in place.

Got nothing to help here, guess I'm in for some more draining.

Tarak, even in his animal fury, gets lost in the thing's eyes.

May I assume he is conscious? Does he also drop out of rage? He is and you may or may not drop out of rage if you want. Raging is a mental thing with physical affects in my opinion.

While everyone else goes all stiff, finally (at least that is what the Rast was thinking). Malgrim remains in the fight and blasts away and drops the thing.

Combat over!

Having locked eyes with the Rast, then Gnasher would see Malgrim drop it and release the rage, how permanent is the paralyze.

Frozen in place, Gnasher watches as Malgrim blasts the thing with his water. Pleased to see his friend doing so well, Gnasher releases his rage, but begins to worry about how long he might be paralyzed.

The paralyzation effect lasts from a few seconds to a half a minute. Since it does not affect anything, you will 'wake up' in the order that you post.

So I will do Kinetic Healing and Kinetic Restoration on Tarak. I use my saved Burn and take 1 more burn to do it.

Kinetic Healing: 3d6 + 9 + 4 ⇒ (5, 2, 1) + 9 + 4 = 21

Kinetic Restoration for Con: 1d4 ⇒ 3

21 healing and 3 Con regained. So that should completely heal Tarak up.

As Malgrim moves towards Tarak, Gnasher begins to feel his toes again. Forming his lips into a slow smile he wiggles toes and claws breathing a heavy sigh of relief. Bending over to pick up his bardiche, he exclaims, "Gnasher not like that." Kicking the dead spider-like thing in the process.

Breathing deeply, he moves slowly letting the fatigue run it's course. Even taking a moment to sit down on one of the 'park benches' Asking the others, "What is this place?"
