If it's ok for everyone, she buys 3 Sheathes and 1 Bandolier, 1 Mirror, 1 Shortbow and 10 arrows (4gp, 2sp, 3cp).

Are there other things we can buy, like minor magical items (potions, scrolls)?

Tamli raises an eyebrow when Giggett wants to purchase a mirror: "Becoming vain, huh?"

Giggett can purchase her equipment between the caravan and the general store part of the inn.

Delma Fulst is happy to have Giggett as a customer: "Adventuring, are we? For you bow, may I interest you in a..."
And she pulls out a dusty rune.

"We also have three minor healing potions for sale. Never been used before.
I think."

Giggett pays all in silver coins.

Hey folks, I am a bit behind here. I will need this weekend to catch up. Sorry, Christmas in Poland consist of 2.5 days of eating your ass off and visiting your family. And now I am behind with so many things, and still, need to come back from my hometown to where I live currently. In the meantime preparing for the January trip etc.

To provide some feedback, at some point I introduced some direct translations of polish swear words with a my work colleagues. And from time to time I use them outside of that group (accidentally) I see the consternation on people's faces. And this is one of those moments ;) Which makes me realize that it is an illusion that I can control the way how I speak depending on the audience :)

Sorry about that. What I meant was you eat so much that you increase in size by 5-10%.

With regards to gear, I marked the potions when they were unknown. I have no interest in healing potion nor in jugernaut mutagen (so removed my x from them).

I recommend Natsume and Gig to take them. With regards to alchemical ingredients yeah I will take them and use them to craft some potions.

So, Dragh takes nothing.

I put the Kukri and Diry Armor in the caravan (anyone can take those of course)

re. the Shadow Rune--
--well. That was the fine game author's wonderful idiotic idea.
And I put that as loot without having read up enough on runes.
If I read the rules correctly:
• you can only add a Shadow Rune (which is a weapon property rune) if you have a potency rune
So, to add this level 3, 55 gp rune, you must have installed a level 5, 160 gp Armor Potency (+1) rune (or bigger!).
Since this adventure is made for beginner characters, it seems as though finding this rune is totally useless.
I will thus change things and retcon a bit giving you a rune of the same level and price but that you can at least use:

When Tamerius cast his spell, and you then analyzed the rune you found out it was a returning rune.
This can be placed on any weapon with a +1 potency rune.

You can apply the runestone with Crafting for free.
Then, to change it from weapon to weapon, it is 10% of the price.

Natsume remembers how Hallod had a healthy glow when he drank whatever he drank at the start of the fight.
And that you had the feeling his wounds would have brought him down, but, somehow, he kept on fighting and needed a few more blows before falling.

Finally, with such an elixir, you can eat even more of your ass off!

I've got a Dagger I can throw for 1/12 the range of the crossbow, but I'd also be adding my STR to it (which is gonna be more damage).

I'm not sure what everyone else has for "ranged thrown weapon" though, so if anyone has something better, let me know. :P If not... I guess we can sell it? Or hold onto it, since Hallod's stuff isn't supposed to be finders-keepers, legally speaking.

To put it on the dagger, you need to move a +1 rune to that weapon.

re. Hallod's stuff.
OOC: feel free to sell and trade and use all this loot. I imagine the loot is dealt out with at least some idea of making you progress vs. the increase in threat.
RP-wise: we can figure out how things go at the end. Maybe Hallod can sue you!

Use them for whatever you want.
Rope can be used to tie people up.
You used the hammer to get the rapier out. You can put a nail in or hit someone's thumb with it.

The metal rattle-tip is from the snake.

It's your loot.
Use it. Sell it. Leave it in the caravan.

I haven't looked through the equipment listings enough to know what, if anything, I should be looking for :D

If anyone has suggestions, I'm not opposed! I was considering taking up a Tower Shield at some point... but that heavy crossbow is a heavy crossbow!

40gp is a fortune
It's a lot. But not really a fortune.
35 gp is the cost of the basic +1 rune for weapons.
So to get a 2nd magic weapon in the group nearly all the 43 gp would be gone.

It's a bit complicated, as the price of items is growing extremely fast in PF2. What was expensive a few levels earlier is now cheap. So, yes, compared to level 2 items, it's not much. But compared to the 15 gps we got at creation, it's a fortune :)

About Hero Points, how does the change in part works? Back to one, no change or one point for Hallod?

With regards to lvl 2 I am almost there, still have to pick wizard feat, as at lvl 2 there are no good choices ;) And I need to select 4 alchemy items that I will be able to craft: I most likely will go with:
Elixir of life
Eagle-eye elixir

Which leaves me with 2 more. I could go with juggernaut mutagen (story wise it would be consistent) and something else. I could go for poison:

On piercing or slashing weapons they could be good if Gig or Natsune want to use them.

I would most likely need a workshop, which could be arranged near the carts with the alchemical tools (I don't need the tools outside of crafting and maybe identifying potions).

I looked through the equipment, and there is nothing of interest for Wizard. There are wands allowing to cast 1 more spell of 1st level:

So I think I am good. I have my crossbow, don't need armor.

I think we have some misunderstanding here (I love to have those with GM's, what can possibly go wrong here ;)).

I am advancing through Wizard class to lvl 2 which gives me skill feat and a wizard feat, as a skill feat I want to take:

Sorry, I forgot you were taking that one directly. Thought you were going for the Archetype.

You can always take a level 1 Wizard Feat (get a Familiar?).

Or just add 2 cantrips via Cantrip Expansion.

@Dragh: why do you not take Alchemist Dedication?

• you get Alchemical Crafting feat and four additional formulas for 1st-level alchemical items
(which I imagine means a total of 8 formulas, since the Crafting Feat give formulas for four common 1st-level alchemical items and the wording here is additional)
• you become trained in alchemical bombs (so you can toss them) and Crafting (and if you already trained in Crafting, you instead become trained in a skill of your choice)
• you gain the alchemist’s infused reagents class feature, gaining a number of reagents each day equal to your level.
• you gain the ability to create free items during your daily preparations

That is a lot, for a Feat that would replace a Wizard Feat you said you see nothing good for.

And that frees your Skill Feat (dropping Alchemical Crafting) to choose something from a lot longer list where you'd probably find something interesting.

RP-wise it fits with Goldenoak Brewery, where you could have started learning about such things to add boosters to beers.
And you've already found some alchemical recipes in Bort's undelivered items, you can have found a copy of Alchemy Dedication for Dwarven Dummies along with that.

Anyhow, for me it makes the same RP sense, and is mechanically wildly stronger (especially since you like none of the Wizard Feats).

Well, because I haven't read the CRB and I misunderstood how the archetypes worked. I was certain that they replace the whole set of bonuses of lvl 2(or lvl x) and I wanted to get my 1 more spell per day.

But after I understood it, yeah I will go with Alchemist Dedication. It does make sense.

What are the rules for selling in 2e? I'm looking at my bulk and realizing it's miscalculated at the moment, and I should be able to manage a spiked tower shield... in which case I'll sell my old one.

That is still in Part 1.
Do you have Hero Points left?
(they will drop to 1, or refresh to 1 if you are @0 when you start Part 2)

At worse, that means you lose 10% of the 3.5 sp cost.

So, Giggett's eyes started to go wide, when she saw Natsume crafting.
The rune was going to be snapped and the gnome would finally see something interesting and get over the Bleaching... but, no, Natsume heroically caught herself, and, like the true hero she is, did a good job.

Giggett now has a +1 silver rapier.

That might help if there are any lycanthropes around.


It's no rune, it's a Potency Crystal. I can activate it once to get a +1 (striking) silver rapier for a round.

But, since it is the time of gifts and end of year rejoice and kindness--
--the GM will imagine that someone would have picked up on his multiple hints and, for the last time, point you to another thing you missed:

With Dragh having checked the items Tamerius did not detect for magic, the kukri was discovered to carry a rune of weapon potency.
Now, when Giggett clarifies that Natsume did not place a rune on her new rapier, Natsume can shake her head and explain: "I did! 'Tis a rune, that I just moved from the kukri to your new silver rapier. Along with the crystal."

So, Giggett does have a +1 silver rapier, with a Potency Crystal on it (making it striking for a round-- or just put the crystal on something else.

Not at all.

Tell me how much it costs - and if you sell your old shield or not at 50%.
I'll amend the loot list.

I'll give you a few more days to see what all purchase and what items Dragh made, and then we'll close that up.

I figure if I can get that for "free," I'll keep my existing shield (but toss it in the caravan for now, unless someone's got 1 free bulk to carry around or wants an upgrade) in case I need a backup.
