Agreed. I just went through the loot list and listed Saiya as the carrier for anything I thought might be helpful but that no one had claimed yet. (Mostly potions, scrolls, and wands.) It's probably a good idea for everyone to take a quick look and see if there's anything they want before selling the rest.
We definitely need a Wand of CLW. Otherwise I think Saiya is good to go.

Dropping a note in all my games. Finished up with school yesterday, just waiting on the audit for me to officially be done and graduate even though there are no commencements with the whole virus thing. Wife is doing better after brief stint in the hospital. Looking at starting to get back into my games and get posting again sometime this week. My work is really crazy as first kids were coming back on the 17th but now everything is going to be virtual for an indeterminate amount of time, but teachers are coming back still and there is a lot of questions floating out there so bare with me as I ease into catching up on things and getting back into a regular posting routine again over the next week or so.

DM_Delmoth |

Thanks for dropping in a note. I was starting to wonder since we hadn't heard from you in a while. I hope your wife's hospital stay wasn't anything serious, I'm glad she's doing better.

Cerise "Ci Ci" Barchetta |

Welcome back. Glad to hear the missus is on the mend!

Saiya Atarangi |

Sorry everyone, I have not had a good couple weeks and have been having trouble doing anything, frankly. I'll get a post up, but understand if you need to kick me for someone with more consistency.

DM_Delmoth |

Sorry you've had a rough go of it lately.
We're not at that point by far.

"Vermilion Vixen" |

@GM, are you giving everyone until after the weekend to post? I’m itching to post a battle round, and he’s exactly 12 squares away so I can charge him! …though admittedly, melee is chancy because who knows what an undead might do when he hits back?
Oh, but dragon stance does make me resistant to paralysis. So that’ll help, if a ghoul.

DM_Delmoth |

My rule is 48 hours before I bot. So if we don't hear from Saiya or Lily in a handful of hours I will push ahead.

"Vermilion Vixen" |

Can I hit it while being grabbed?
Looked it up.
-2 penalty. Yes.
(My attack is +9, +10 with the Lv.4 ABP, and down to +8 with grappled condition. I used martial flex, but with that grapple bonus… sure hope my crit landed the full 53 damage!)
...
Also, I’m assuming I took 17 damage: 3 from fire; 14 from slashing.

DM_Delmoth |

No you took 14 damage. The fire damage was for it. That was a super lucky crit, if you rolled 1 less it wouldn't have confirmed.

DM_Delmoth |

Hey everyone Khajiit, my cat, had surgery today. So I'm sitting a drunk furbaby. Maybe I can move things after tomorrow.

Maura Visiv Aruam |

Posting in all active games. I am still here but I am in a tech school for a month (basically until the end of next month). I will be able to post still, but I might be a bit more sporadic in the week itself (I am having to drive quite a bit more than normal to get to the schoolhouse and we are putting in some long days while there) but I will try to keep current.

Vermilion Vixen |

Bummer, Delmoth. Hope your cat feels better soon. (Been a long time since I was a cat owner, but cats are family.)
In that case, I’ll just fluff RP a bit rather than wait for your post.
_____
Good luck with school, Maura!

Think you had the wrong character name, Dak plays Lily. Mercifully I do not have the COVID... but I wish Dak the fastest recovery.

Maura Visiv Aruam |

Hey all, posting this in my games. My school is now in the practical phase of troubleshooting (read: they break the servers and whatnot, I have to fix it) and it is eating a lot of my time. I might be a bit slower in posting the next few weeks as a result. Apologies, and feel free to bot me as needed.

"Vermilion Vixen" |

Maura looks at the... horror... with some amount of revulsion. Well... that wasn't in the cards... Shaking her head, quickly calls out to her companions, "Careful... I am going to shut it up, but if you get to close you won't be able to hear anything."
Focusing as she says this, Maura envisions a bubble of absolute quiet around the creature, willing it into existence as she does.
Cast Silence. 20 FT sphere with the creature at center. Anything within it cannot speak, cast spells that require sound, or make noise/hear noise. They also can't take damage from sonic attacks and language-based spells and effects (where hearing the sound/words is/are the damaging factor). Given I am trying to center it on the creature instead of a fixed point, it does get a will save. DC is 16. Assuming it goes off, it will last 4 rounds.
Seeing that Vix runs into the area envisioned, she winces. I will have to open an alternate means of communication with her if this works.
Does this spell actually protect Vix from compulsion magic? If so, casting Silence on Vix as she charges a caster (instead of the caster) might not be a bad idea!

Maura Visiv Aruam |

Not as such, it just a AoE nullification of sound. If it can cast non-verbal compulsion magic (or if it has effects that aren't dependent on sound) then you can still get hit by them. Also, if I center it on you then you will be unable to get out of it for four rounds... so no talking, no language based things, and no hearing of anything we say to you.

DM_Delmoth |

Added the following to my house rules/FAQ
If a large or larger size creature is adjacent to me can I attack it with a reach weapon?
RAW answer to this is a flat no. This leads us to absurd or contradictory results when Kat is blind or the target is invisible as those conditions allow Kat to choose a square to attack and if the square contains the creature it can be hit with a miss chance. So you can target a creature with a reach weapon that is adjacent to you if you threaten any square of its space. However when attacking in this way the creature has soft cover against the attack just as if there was an intervening creature. Alternatively Kat can avoid giving the above creature cover or attack an adjacent medium sized creature by attacking with the reach weapon as an improvised weapon, following the normal rules for improvised weapons.
Adding description line back into teleport: On target: 1-52, Off Target: 53-76, Similar Area: 77-92, Mishap: 93-100
[/spoiler]
I'll get a post up soonish.

Lily Avenfall |

Hey, I wanted to drop in and give all my games an update. I'm still alive, obviously, and I've managed to stay out of the hospital and off a ventilator. However, I'm still not fully recovered. Even though I'm outside my two week symptomatic/infectious period by over a week there are some lingering issues that are still weighing on me (continued shortness of breath, getting light headed, overall fatigue). I doing my best to push through it but it is barely just enough to get me through work everyday and doesn't leave a lot of time for anything else. I would like to give a hard and fast "I'll be back and up to playing again by this time", but sadly at this point I can't. It could be a couple weeks or it could be a couple months for me to get used to this new (hopefully temporary) norm on top of a few other things going on.
All this to say, I'm ok, I'm trying my best to manage, but I can't give you a hard "this is when I will be back". I understand it has been awhile as it is, between this most recent struggle with COVID and my past slowness with finishing up my graduate stuff so if you need to move on without me I completely understand and I'm just sorry that right as I was getting back into things again this whole virus thing came along and knocked me back down again. I'll check in again once I feel I'm up to playing with everything else I am balancing.

DM_Delmoth |

I'm glad you didn't have serious complications and had to be hospitalized. I have heard about the long term complications and I'm sorry you have them. So here's the plan Lily will leave the party for now and I will save a seat for you. If and when you feel up to returning drop a line here or send me a PM. At that time you can reprise your roll as Lily or make a different character.
I'm going to start recruiting for a fifth since you'll maybe need it to tackle Iris Hill.

Maura Visiv Aruam |

Don't worry about us, Lily. (OK, OK, we are playing S.A. ... maybe worry a little, lol.) In all seriousness, focus on getting better not about the game. I can personally attest to DM standing by that "You have a seat when you are willing/able to take it" offer. We will (dice gods willing) still be here no matter when you finally feel well enough to come back.

Saiya Atarangi |

Take as much time as you need to recover Lily. We'll be here when you feel up to playing again.

DM_Delmoth |

Before we go through the whole process of a new re-recruitment would any of you be ok with the following submissions from the last re-recruitment:
I feel like Amestri just barely missed being accepted. Allegra was vetoed before but I thought it was a very strong submission, their player is also in another of my games and it is better for it. Dak spoke very highly of Sarguhilde’s player so I wanted to reconsider them as well. I would ask them to re-work their characters, as at this point it's hard to make them amnesiacs.

"Vermilion Vixen" |

Do you mean you’ll just pick one, contact that player? If yes, s/he’s in; if no, next?
I prefer that rather than go through another recruitment. If you want my vote, the order you listed them is my preference. (Not a strong preference, so fine by me if you just go in order of your preference or take more than one.)

Cerise "Ci Ci" Barchetta |

Of those three, I like Sarguhilde's concept the best.
It sounds like any of the three players would be good for the group, so I am fine with whoever is ultimately chosen.

Maura Visiv Aruam |

Was Allegra vetoed for player or concept prior? Additionally, I noted that she was Lawful Evil. While I do not have a personal problem with playing at the table with an evil character (hells, I once ran on a Iron Gods campaign with one... if done correctly, it can make sense) it might be a deal breaker for others.
I agree with Ci Ci, I think Sarguhilde has a pretty solid concept, and given all the strange happenings so far it would make sense that an inquisitor of ... well, just about any faith, really... would show up.
That said, the player described their character as stubborn... might be some rubbing of existing folks the wrong way if played wrong, at least in character.
Amestri has an interesting concept, but it doesn't look like they ever hard stated her out. Does make tuning her toward what we need easier... but I typically like going over that before voting on someone.
TL;DR: My vote would be for Sarguhilde. Amestri I would need to see more from before I would be willing to vote yay or nay on, and I need more context on the previous vote concerning Allegra (as well as other's thoughts on an evil character being at the table).

Saiya Atarangi |

I think, (Delmoth correct me if I'm wrong), that Jassminder was the one to veto Allegra previously due to the potential conflict between a LG Paladin of Ilmater and a LE Warpriest of Asmodeus. So concept, not player. I like Allegra a lot, but I am also the only Neutral character in a party of Goods. It makes sense her LE alignment would be less of a stretch for me :)
Sarguhilde has a good concept, I'd be fine with her. I'm a little more hesitant with Amestri, but I admit that may be just due to my lack of familiarity with summoners in general.
Tenatively my order would be Allegra, Sarguhilde, Amestri. But I'd be fine with any of them.

DM_Delmoth |

Edit: You are correct Saiya.
It was the character not the player and it was over the evil alignment. I specifically wanted to allow evil alignment because you would have to be a villian or an idiot (no offense Vix) to work for Lowls in the capacity that you did. That's not to say your characters are the same people they were when they worked for Lowls, they are not. This story can be a redemption arc, but it can also be about ruthless people and true heros setting aside their differences to do what needs to be done. I wouldn't suggest the character if I thought the player couldn't handle the extra effort to make an evil character work.
I asked Allegra if she would consider being LN and she said that was fine, but the damage was already done.

DM_Delmoth |

My order is
Allegra
Amestri
Sarguhilde
Which even without knowing Maura and Ci Ci's 2nd choice means Sarguhilde and Allegra are tied for first. The run off removed Amestri from consideration making Vix's new first choice Allegra. I'll ask her if she wants to join and recommend she stick with LN and that she focus on Godclaw worship over Asmodeus specifically.

DM_Delmoth |

Allegra agreed to join us so she's finishing up some adjustments to her character and then I'll work on incorporating her. Feel free to continue on with your investigations while I work with her on her backstory.

Allegra Gavrospex |

Hi folks! Character is all ready to go. Feel free to check out my character sheet here. I'm up for tweaking things to work within the party as needed.

"Vermilion Vixen" |

It looks good, but I think your attribute points are off. We get 70 at Lv.1, and that increases with maximums that are mentioned in the Campaign Info section.
Though I’m wondering if I’m off. It looks like:
• You have 70 + Level + Racial = 76
• I have 70 @ Lv.1 = 69 + Level = 73
Or are we both wrong, and should have:
• 69 + Level + Racial = 75
Not gonna lie... that would be awesome.

DM_Delmoth |

Allegra has it right because you all level up, you should be 5th now.

Allegra Gavrospex |

Oooh, good point. I was trying to interpret it as basically 69 + racial + total level, but I can adjust as necessary.
Edit*
Surprise!
[Sorry if I spoiled the level up. But good catch!]
