Thank you all for your patience. It ended up taking a little longer than I'd thought, but for the most part things seem to have settled down. I should be back to my regular schedule.

Glad you are back. Don't forget to level up!

Jassminder Shah |

Levelling up!
+1 BAB
+1 Reflex save
+7 hit points
+1 Wis
Resistance +1 (Automatic Bonus Progression)
Feat: Rapid Shot
Abilities: Aura of Courage, Divine Health, Mercy (Fatigued)

Saiya Atarangi |

Saiya had a lot going on this level.
+1 DEX bumped her up to 18, so she went up one in all Dex-related stuff.
+1 BAB, +1 Fort, +6HP.
New spells: Open/Close, (she's really paranoid about doors, okay?) and Grease.
Feat: Weapon Focus (Shortsword)
Investigator Talent: Expanded Inspiration. She now gets a free d6 on all Diplomacy, Heal, Perception, Profession, and Sense Motive checks.
She added Linguistics to her gigantic list of skills and took Sign Language as a language known, so she can communicate with Lahrehn now.
I think that covers the major changes.

Just a heads up part of my job description includes disaster planning and well you know. Hopefully it won't mean a whole lot here.

1 person marked this as a favorite. |

Ci Ci draws upon her power, sending it out like an invisible hand, retrieving the lid and putting it back on the pot.
(Casting mage hand)
The mental picture I have of putting the lid back: 20-sec Disney film clip

Updated my house rules to include:
Spells or spell-like abilities with no components or apparent physical manifestation cannot be identified with spellcraft. Example: A silent still charm person has no components and the spell's description indicates no outward effects and so spellcraft could not be used to ID the spell unless another spell or effect revealed the effect, such as detect magic.

I tried using the Yojimbo method to pick a door, but got ninja’d by Ci Ci!
Vix pulls a needle from her fashion kit. She tosses it…
Up on map = 12 o’clock
1d12 ⇒ 11
NOTE: I rolled a 7 in Gameplay. 11 points to an actual door.
…and the needle doesn’t point at any door. “Aw, fu...cryin’ out loud.” The needle is pointing across the hall, and there’s only one door on that side.
“Close enough. Shall we?”

DM_Delmoth |

More of a problem is that you're providing cover to the ghouls from said reach weapons or ranged attacks.

Jassminder Shah |

I'm not trying to kill you I swear.
Maybe just a little
As I always used to say to the players at my tabletop game, a TPK is just the DM's way of showing they love you.

Mizuko Tagashi |

I do, I tried to use it last round. Didn't work since the thing crit me.

DM_Delmoth |

Lahrehn lashes out her natural weapons against the enemy by her. She power attacks, trying to get her attacks to do more damage than their usual. Her troll claws and teeth move around in coordination with the two weird tentacles expanding from her back.
[dice=Bite]1d20+7-1
[dice=Damage]1d6+3+2[dice=Claw 1]1d20+7-1
[dice=Damage]1d4+3+2[dice=Claw 2]1d20+7-1
[dice=Damage]1d4+3+2[dice=Morphic Weapon 1]1d20+7-1
[dice=Damage]1d6+4+2[dice=Morphic Weapon 2]1d20+7-1
[dice=Damage]1d6+4+2
I'm pretty sure that you only get your bite and two claws because:
The total number of natural attacks an oozemorph has at any given time includes those gained via her current form. For example, an 8th-level oozemorph who has taken the form of a wolf with beast shape I has a bite attack as part of that form; she can create only two additional natural attacks via morphic weaponry, for a total of three attacks available to her at that level.
It seems that morphic weaponry can never bring you over 2 natural attacks at your current level. So you'd have to have a form that's either 0 or 1 natural attack to gain tentacle attacks from morphic weaponry.

Lahrehn |

It's a little confusing! But considering the archetype is already terrible in everything it does, I will go with the worse interpretation possible (lol! It makes sense they'd keep it on the bad side) and limit myself to the two claws+bite of the troll (and when I revert back to ooze, will use the other two tentacle attacks instead).
By the way, has it been 3 hours? Could you let me know when, so I can roll the proper saves (and probably fail and revert back to ooze? Hehe).
Cheers

Yup, good call!

DM_Delmoth |

Just warning you that the action with Brenton puts Saiya on the path to become NG. Not enough for an alignment shift yet.

Saiya Atarangi |

That's fine with me. My intention for Saiya has always been to have her dragged into a Good alignment eventually, and I like the idea of little things like giving a kid back his toys being what gradually shifts her in that direction.

Hi all
Due to ongoing work (I had 2/3 of my team reassigned to other matters last week), I don't now have time to post regularly here. I'm going to keep running the games where I'm DM but I think I need to drop the games I'm playing in: it isn't fair to you guys (especially the DM) to have to keep waiting on me.
I'm sorry to do this, but I don't see how it works otherwise.

"Vermilion Vixen" |

Note: I added a detail to point out that, with Dragon Style active. (Please assume it always is in combat, once I have the opportunity for a swift action. There is literally no reason not to enter the style when playing someone who kicks.)
Looks like Dragon Style does not apply to my non-kicking attacks though, so throwing an object won’t be as painful as my kick. That’s actually why I was looking up the feat, but +2 to resist nasty ghoul paralyze effects will help... maybe?

DM_Delmoth |

Just a heads up some people are reporting that they aren't seeing new post notifications.

"Vermilion Vixen" |

Missed my max damage by 2 points.
I could do another 8+ damage with a full attack, but I figure the whole party can take out the other guy, and I do need that Imp Grapple active before Aggra chokes me. (If the guy who took 46 damage is still up, then I am scared.)
EDIT-
…oh, and I just realized that I’m down to 8 HP, not 18!
Do we have Healing Spells? If not, I’ll need to guzzle a potion before Aggra kicks my ass.

DM_Delmoth |

Just a heads up I'm going through a system conversation at work starting the 11th. If it goes the same way the last time it happened I'll be pretty exhausted that week. So don't be surprised if I'm not responsive, hopefully things will calm down by the 18th but I can't promise anything.

"Vermilion Vixen" |

Huh… I guess NPCs can roll just as s*#*ty as the rest of us.
Do the brawler bracers add +2 to my kicks? Bear in mind, while I have IUS, I am getting the benefit of silver piercing with those masterwork boots and a x3 crit damage. On the other hand, I’m kicking and my archetype basically makes improve weapons and unarmed strikes equal. So… I don’t actually know what the call should be, pro-Vixen bias aside.
I will gladly don the bracers (if no other player objects) regardless of your call, but just want to know what your call is.

DM_Delmoth |

They would not affect your attacks with improvised weapons. Hinyasi allows you to deal damage with imp weapons equal to your unarmed, it doesn't make imp weapons unarmed attacks.
If for some reason you got an improvised weapon that had the grapple special rule, which is doubtful, then it would apply to grapple checks made with that weapon.

"Vermilion Vixen" |

So the funny thing is, I might actually be better off kicking with the instep until Lv.5 (at which point I get +2 to certain improv weapons—I’ll choose light so the boots are covered).
So I could kick with bash damage for the +2 (that’s IUS) and if I’m better off with piercing or need my ancestral weapon trait, I’ll use the heels. (I realize I can punch too… but kicks are VV’s thing.)
The +2 to grapple is especially awesome. That’s kinda the point of keeping her hands free!

"Vermilion Vixen" |

If for some reason you got an improvised weapon that had the grapple special rule, which is doubtful, then it would apply to grapple checks made with that weapon.
I’ll bet we already have one.

DM_Delmoth |

Also, @Delmoth, how do I equip items on the Treasure spreadsheet? There’s a drop-down menu, but characters from your other game are on it. I know I can copy-paste to the VV tab, but is there a formula that would automate that? I don’t want to unwittingly mess up a formula by copy-pasting. (Maybe you noticed from my char sheet, I’m a big fan of formulas… not so good about locking cells to prevent accidental overwrites!)
Sorry about that. The data validation in the carrier column of the party treasure is wrong. That column is used to notate who is carrying unclaimed equipment for carry capacity calculations. Carry capacity tracking is optional but I know some people like to know where they're at.
To show you have an item equipped you would move the relevant item from the party page to your individual page. Then in the location column change the drop down to equipped. Persomal inventory indicates its on your character but not equipped. Stashed means you own it but you don't carry it with you.

"Vermilion Vixen" |

Okay… will copy-paste Talisman of Warrior’s Courage and Brawler’s Bracers, and reduce # of CLWs by 1.
^did
…and now that that’s done, anyone interested in the Phylactery of Faithfulness?
VV has sort of a religious following of Milani, and is kind of a reckless fool who doesn’t do moral dilemmas well. She’d gladly wear a headband that basically tells her she’s going too far or becoming the very thing she hates…
…but as a player, I try to gravitate toward items that fit my character and I try not to take more than my share. As Ci-Ci probably knows, I’ve been accused of hogging loot (not by anyone on the Paizo boards) when I honestly didn’t think I was, so that’s why I want to communicate my thinking.
A belt of ant haul would be an example of something that makes sense both in-character and in regard to ability. The faithfulness headband isn’t necessarily best for VV, so she’d gladly let another have it, especially since she’s been given the talisman already and just claimed a really awesome item.
You can assume she will take no interest in any weapon because her hands are meant for grappling. Even more so with the bracers.
