Woo!
Depending on how you do leveling, Erisa may have an extra spell per day or so for healing in the chapel.
Some do "nothing gained until you rest" and others do "gain the new stuff, but your currently used stuff doesn't change until rest."

Erisa |
Oh god, just realized this is the campaign with the highly modified level up rules :O
I'll do the leveling tomorrow :D

DM_Delmoth |

So the changes I made are 70 point but instead of 63. The easiest way to adjust for that is to add 7 ability points to your existing totals. You can completely rebuild your character if you want. Don't forget to change your HD to d6, max at 1st level
When you level you get 1 ability point increase, instead of the normal ability progression. I do average hp on level up. Automatic bonus progression doesn't come into play until 3rd level. Otherwise it should be fairly straightforward to level up.
Let us know if you need anymore help or if you have specific questions.
I should have an in game post later today.

I don't think it affects anyone here but please note I've updated my house rules to include a limit on how long a hex can be maintained with chant and cackle.

..dopplegangers and undead appearing from out of nowhere..
..an earthquake..
..poison fog..
..blood rain..
..creepy monsters in the fog..
..patient uprising..
..fanatical devotees..
I must be the most awful person. As I was reading, when I hit the line, "Then the patient uprising happened led by Ulver Zandalus; doppelgangers and ghouls started appearing wearing the faces of doctors, orderlies, patients. Then an earthquake hit and destroyed the second floor."
I started to laugh thinking, wow, this must be the most cursed place ever. What else could go wrong?
Then more bad things were mentioned. Poison fog, blood rain..
I laughed even harder. Perhaps it was just the "and then an earthquake happened" part that triggered it.
Anyway, time to deal with the fanatical followers and their crazed leader. After all, the writers put a whole lot of effort into keeping us from wandering off. :D

DM_Delmoth |

lol, s-h be crazy here. I promise that there is a logical connection for all the events. And you'll only connect like half the dots in part because that's just how the adventure is written and part because it will be a year out before you have all the info.

Erisa |
I'm babysitting last night, today, tonight, and tomorrow morning. I'll be able to update after that marathon tomorrow afternoon :D

Erisa |
I'm back, sorry about that - I don't get to spend an entire weekend with my 7 year grand-daughter very often. Unlike raising my daughter - I don't just tell her to go off and occupy herself for hours - its zoos, science centers, movie marathons, and lots of ice cream :D
Catching back up.

DM_Delmoth |

Gonna hold off on resolving the outside door opening until I have confirmation of rest beforehand or not.

Saiya Atarangi |

I'm fine with resting first. Someone suggest it in-game and Saiya will feel very foolish for not thinking of it herself.

DM_Delmoth |

Just giving everyone a heads up I'm moving next week so I may be unresponsive because I'm either carrying heavy things or exhausted from carrying heavy things. Alternatively I may have no internet. So apologies in advance if I'm unresponsive for a while.

Erisa |
I've saved my last two healing spells so I can heal you back up VV when we rest. Getting you back to full was more important than bringing the child or mother to full.

Thanks. As a player, I of course appreciate being kept alive!
In-character, VV will put innocents first because reasons, but she won't be an ingrate. (And she did notice healers tending to the mom and kid, so as far as VV can tell, the innocents have been taken care of.)
2 HP is all she needs. Winter's long-term care will heal VV 4 HP overnight (unless you heal VV for 6+, in which case she's all set).

Speaking of kids, I'm not ignoring IRL posts...
@Erisa, glad you had fun. Seven is a fun age! My youngest daughter is seven.
@Delmoth, good luck lugging everything everywhere. And congrats on the new home!

"Vermilion Vixen" |

Saiya is suffering from Filth Fever.
Damn flu season! First my coworkers, then my daughters, and now members of my adventuring party too?

"Vermilion Vixen" |

skill codpieces
That should say "skull," like in typical fantasy art depicting barbarians and/or orcs wearing a loincloth with a skull in a very odd place.
Even odder: the belt buckle, as seen by a barbarian drawn by a more talented artist than me.
* * *
If not apparently implicit in my post, the Vixen is expressing her interest in hearing your memories (albeit in a way that may appear self-centered).

DM_Delmoth |

I'm living out of the new house now and me and my wife are taking it easy moving all of our stuff. So I should be back to business as usual as far as PbPs are concerned

DM_Delmoth |

sorry. My turn to go awol - again. Last week was pretty crazy. Catching up now.
No worries

DM_Delmoth |

I believe the Hinyasi can use improv weapons in her brawler's flurry, as long as she has Catch Off-Guard for melee or Throw Anything for ranged.
I don't agree because:
...attacking with any combination of unarmed strikes, weapons from the close fighter weapon group, or weapons with the “monk” special feature.
The "good" news is that 9 damage doesn't kill the swarm so your first course of action is valid.

Saiya Atarangi |

How tall are the ladders?

DM_Delmoth |

Ladders are 8 ft tall
@V.V. I didn't quite catch that you had an archetype. My bad. Hinyasi makes improvised weapons a close weapon so you can flurry with them. I realize now that your build relies on that feature. Sorry for the confusion.

DM_Delmoth |

Gonna take a wild guess and say Vixen's stilettos are piercing damage.

"Vermilion Vixen" |

Gonna take a wild guess and say Vixen's stilettos are piercing damage.
The inflict silver damage because of my regional trait, which I believe I explained via PM.
And I guess I should kick with the instep (IUS, blunt, no MW or trait bonus so my attack and damage rolls would be less by 1) or whack the rats with my book next round.

"Vermilion Vixen" |

I tried coming up with a legal move since I am unable to attack while nauseated. It turns out the ladder is a 5ft step away, so I have only used swift and free actions so far.
Does this mean I can climb the ladder as well, since I get one move action? That would get me atop the shelf. My climb bonus is +10 (+11 with bless), so I'm guessing it's don't-roll-a-one.

DM_Delmoth |

Yes you can use your move to climb up the ladder. The climb DC for a ladder is 0, so you could even climb it at half speed without making a check.
As a side note Bless only applies to attack rolls and saves vs fear not skill checks or ability checks.

"Vermilion Vixen" |

Oh... in that case, I'll await your call on my posted action. The ladder can only go 15 feet, so even without a STR check, VV forces the ladder to the edge of the shelf. So I guess the question is whether the check being below 15 means it's not enough to free her of rats.
I actually don't know if getting free of rats means I won't be nauseous next round. But of course that is my goal.
_
If you don't post until round resolution, climbing without a check works for me. If I can still move to the west side of the bookshelf (right=N?), that too then.

DM_Delmoth |

Ok, no check needed then. Feel free to move your token and the ladder where you want it.

"Vermilion Vixen" |

The STR check is to move the ladder 30 ft. The ladder near VV can only move 15 ft. (which I believe is the amount you move with no check), but I rolled the check to attempt to make the move-and-stop forceful. The just-in-case reflex save is so VV doesn't fall off with the rats.
Both rolls are off by one. Bless does not apply to the STR, and my Reflex save is +4. I rolled +3, but that is my Fort save.
Oh... but ^that's totally not needed thanks to Erisa! So I can just climb the ladder, then. Will adjust when I can get to my iPad.

DM_Delmoth |

You can pull a ladder with you as you move as a part of your move action, the only restriction is that they have to stay adjacent to their respective shelves.
Alternatively you can push one away from you up to 15ft as a standard. If you want to go up to 30ft you'd have to make a Str check.
But yes climbing up onto the shelf is probably the best move.

I'm flying out in the morning for a convention this week. I'll check in on the campaign probably once a day, but if delayed, now you know why.

@Delmoth,
Yes, that's exactly where I wanted VV—within 5 ft. (Having a 10 ft reach this round is me gambling that the ratling will take a 5 ft step before doing something that provokes AoO.)
Thanks for updating the map for me. My iPad is my only device that I can use to update the map and profile, so if I'm out, I'm playing via crappy dying phone. If I have my iPad in hand and the prospect of rare and precious uninterrupted drawing time, I stay offline.

Back from the convention - I'm catching up this evening.
