@the metagame 'wolf trip tactic'; has to hit on its attack, total defence Odd'n is ac 19 (10% chance to suffer trip attempt) and liv would be ac 23 (5%). Odds are in our favor.
For chuckles-- do these wolves have verticals of NBA players in space?Lacking thumbs or fingers to grab onto ledges they are essentially bouncing vertically ~3 metres to get at gimble.
The wolf that is jumping has a running start. As per rules, the DC = the height in feet of the object you're trying to land on. It doubles if you don't have a running start. Jumping from the ground straight up would make it a DC of 26 to the lip. The running start has to be at least 10'. There's nothing say the wolf's front paws aren't touching first and being used to help kip the rest of her up.

Scratch that. Those were the DCs for long jumps not high jumps.

Well, seeing as our casters sound like they want rest to regain spell usage and hp and Odd'n himself does not want -6 to str and dex (exhaustion) or the less severe -2 either (fatigue) I think 'sleeping in & risk delay' gets my vote.
That said, Odd'n has no qualms against opening the door now and trying to draw the wolves into the keeps more constrained quarters. Total defence is a pretty powerful (albeit boring) use of ones turn!

[ooc]Exhaustion would be for the second night without sufficient sleep, right? "Characters who do not get a full night’s sleep may suffer the effects of fatigue. If a PC does not get at least 6 hours of sleep, she must make a DC 15 Fortitude save or be fatigued and take a –1 penalty on all other checks and saving throws against sleep effects. A second night without sleep requires another DC 15 Fortitude save. A failed save results in the character becoming exhausted and the penalties increasing to –2. A third failed save on the next night increases the penalties to –3."

How are you applying hp regen during rest btw; 1 hp per character lvl per 8 hours resting, or 1 plus con mod per char level, or 'full health'?
I think this may influence how our hurt friends act..

Quick Note: I'll likely be offline for longer than usual this weekend, from Friday afternoon through midday on Tuesday, thanks to a state holiday (Patriots' Day) on Monday. Bot my PC as needed.

It looks like Odd'n and Trom have departed. They are welcome to join us again when or if they can, but I will NPC them until they do.
Odd'n's player seems to have been upset about a Reflex check. I don't know what to say about that other than any character created to be a bumbling oaf who falls off cliffs and eats random mushrooms without checking if they might be poison could, believably, walk right over a tripwire that others have noticed and perhaps even pointed out.

Well...crap! This makes things a bit more challenging. On one hand, it always stinks when players (and their PCs) leave a game, but on the other it helps to officially point it out so the other players (and the GM) aren't unwittingly waiting on the actions of folks who are gone.
As a goofy aside, next year's Super Bowl LIV is named after my character! :)

| Livlena Verkirk |
Creepy! Life imitating art. Yes, we're using background skills. Did you forget your +1 skill point for human?
Gave up my skilled and bonus feat human features to take the dual talent alternate ability. My lack of skills is what makes you appear to be the smart one. ;)

Yes, I didn't answer that question. I was open to ideas. I should have asked what everyone thought.
I would have been willing to consider die average rounded up as a safe system. That would have been 6 for Livlena. Livlena, you could still take the 6 if you'd like.
Hendrina, roll or die average rounded up?
| Livlena Verkirk |
I'll stick with the 5 since I rolled it.
Is Retraining Hit Points something you'd allow?

Is Retraining Hit Points something you'd allow?
Yes. Particularly when you had a low roll. When time permits, Liv could do some serious physical training. Keep an eye out for anyone around here who could be that higher level butt-kicker: "Retraining hit points takes 3 days and requires you to spend time at a martial academy, monk monastery, or with some kind of master of combat who is at least one level higher than you."
