With all the confusion and web blocking his line of sight, Grumbles is unable to pinpoint the exact location of Elessia. who is a cleric, not a witch or wizard, by the way :-)
Also, anyone feel like taking control of Elduin and /or Dax?
Clayton Stenos |
Clayton, injured as the day has taken a toll on him swings out at the skeletons assaulting him, hoping to shatter their hard exterior.

He then steps back to avoid being flanked, "We need to push out or that witch will kill us in this tunnel!"

Stochelo Carmenta |
Stochelo lowers his blade as Grumbles falls back, snapping off a shot with his off hand at the left-most skeleton.
"Don't know how useful this will be, but its got to be better than poking them with a rapier."

Dax can't get a clear shot to use her breath weapon in the corridor and she is not brave enough to enter a room full of enemies alone.
Before he begins casting his summoning spell, Elduin says to Grumbles: In my quiver...blunt arrows. Better against skeletons. Grumbles, you can grab a handful (3d4) of arrows from Elduin's quiver as a move action if you are adjacent to him.
Neither Clayton or Stochelo manage to hit anything [ooc]Stochelo, both targets have cover. The slight damage inflicted by Silas spell has already begun to heal as the bloody skeleton with the morningstar steps in front of the doorway and swings it in another attack.
Skeleton (Blue) Attack: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 5 + 2 = 19
Skeleton (Blue) Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Even though the attack is forceful, it's not enough to damage Clayton. The remaining two skeletons break free of the web and step forward to join the fray at the doorway.
From the back of the room, you hear the muffled sound of spellcasting, but the web, combat and invisibility prevent any of you from determining what spell it is. In any case, it has no apparent effect

"Any ideas?!"
GM JaceDK |
Both Clayton's attacks connect, doing significant damage.

Round 3
I can't help much with the skeletons other than to hit them with force missiles. The bottleneck is keeping them at bay as well. Our only other option at this point is to back out but I'm not sure that is an improvement.
Silas then sends a force bolt at the lead skeleton with his wand.
damage vs blue: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
If someone wants to jump the line and get into the room, I have this potion of gaseous form they can use, he adds while retrieving the potion with his tail and holding it aloft for someone to take.
Silas also begins to levitate to create space in the hallway for the others to maneuver.

The ranger grabs a vast handful from the quiver... in fact, he grabs most of them!
He shoots off one at a skeleton.

Round 3
Elduin eyes up Silas' offered potion.
What do you think? Is he brave enough? :)
GM JaceDK |
The summoned elemental deals serious damage to the skeleton. But not enough to bring it down.
Elduin shakes his head at the offered potion, since he is certain he will do more good with his bow.
Dax responds to Grumbles’ suggestion to burn the web. ”I can burn it with my breath if I can get inside the room. But I’m not going in there alone. I can also try to summon one of my kin to help us, but the chances of succes are low, especially in this wierd place.”
Come on, guys. I think you are overthinking this. The skeletons are not really that dangerous. Someone pull the AoO and you can move freely past the elemental and into the room.

I can't move through them, my Acrobatics probably isn't high enough to go through an enemy square at a +5. So we're kind of stuck wailing at this bottleneck unless I break this one here.
Flurry 1, CE: 1d20 + 6 - 2 ⇒ (14) + 6 - 2 = 18

Flurry 2, CE: 1d20 + 6 - 2 ⇒ (14) + 6 - 2 = 18

Clayton kicks back into gear and starts hammering down on the skeleton in front of him, "Let's go!"
If he defeats it, he will 5 foot step into it's space to keep the route open.
GM JaceDK |
We have Stochelo left to act in round 3, then I'll post a fresh map for round 4. Right now, the summoned elemental is in the position previously occupied by Blue, hammering away at a badly damaged green. Since it is friendly to the party, you can move through it's square, but that will provoke an AoO from all three remaining skeletons.
I'll also remind you that Silas can dismiss the web as a standard action, if need be.
Stochelo Carmenta |
Stochelo draws out a scroll and casts the spell, a glowing sigil forming a circle around him before bursting into million sparks and disappearing.
"Go, and drop the webs as soon as we can get into the room proper."
Draw scroll of shield, casting shield, 5' step closer.

ROUND 4
Since we have had a break, I'm resetting all previously stated actions. Please act again for round 4 and remember to reference the updated map for positioning.
All three remaining bloody skeletons claw away at the summoned earth elemental. None of them are able to land solid blows.

Deeper into the room, you hear Elessia begin casting another spell. Unlike the last one, this one seems to have a longer casting time.

If the DM will allow it, and the rest of you agree that we want Silas to dismiss the webs then I will do that instead of using my wand.
I'll allow it :-). Everyone are free to post new actions for round 4.
GM JaceDK |
As soon as the web dissipates, Clayton moves into the room, drawing attacks of opportunity from all three skeletons.
Skeleton (Red) Attack: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 5 + 2 = 21

Inside, he uses the elemental to flank the skeleton for a solid punch, which deals extra damage. Your previously rolled attack hits Red, go ahead and apply sneak attack damage.
Stochelo and Grumbles, any new actions for round 4 based on the latest developments?
GM JaceDK |
Grumbles moves forward 5 squares and left 1.
Noted. You still have your standard action.
Clayton Stenos |
Previous Sneak Attack: 2d6 ⇒ (5, 6) = 11
Dodging with his defensive maneuvering, Clayton tries to pummel whatever stands in front of him, aided by the elemental.
Flurry 1, Red, no CE: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 6 + 2 = 12
Damage: 1d6 + 3 + 2d6 ⇒ (1) + 3 + (5, 3) = 12
Flurry 2, Red, no CE: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 6 + 2 = 9
Damage: 1d6 + 3 + 2d6 ⇒ (3) + 3 + (6, 1) = 13
GM JaceDK |
The sneak attack damage is enough to bring down the red skeleton. Grumbles redirects his shot at one of the other skeletons, but misses.
Stochelo (and Dax) left, then the bad guys. Clayton, you can take a new action then, since you no longer have a valid target.
GM JaceDK |
We stalled?
I'm afraid we may have lost Stochelo too. I'll poke him through direct message and take his action if he does not respond.
