"I accept the completion of your task as restitution to the forest on behalf of your village, Shuuto"
Shuuto awakes suddenly from a half-stupor, as if he had been spacing out, and goes "Oh! Um. Ok. Your welcome. I mean thank you?" he looks to the pathfinders desperately for help (like "What should I say?") and flustered, just puts his head down "Your highness" he pays kami respect at least of the title. An important title certainly. Maybe the correct one.
Yaseikami folds her arms crossly "I will look after the Kodomi Village henceforth" she says with finality, presiding over the group assembled. If anyone looks into her face, she winks at you.
☘️☘️☘️ ☘️☘️☘️ ☘️☘️☘️
Upon returning to the village, Kenta and Mimiko approach, the latter saying "What happened?" the former "Have we angered the Great Spirit?" both shaking in their fur...

![]() |

Cirri nods in understanding. "Good job, Shuuto. You're the hometown hero! I'm sure you'll do a lot to help your home and the forest." If he hadn't come, Cirri isn't sure Yaseikami would let them clean up the infestation. So he is a hero, in a way...
Also, Cirri doesn't want to be the outsider who takes credit. That would be rude (and a bit Chilexian as Dad would say.)
Back in the village, Cirri is quick to address the elders. "Yaseikami was concerned about a ōmukade invading the forest. By the time we got there, the mother had several swarms running about. We helped a little, but Shuuto was key in driving them away." She takes a step back. "Isn't that right, Shuuto?"

![]() |

“I am glad the apology has been accepted, and no more villages will be burnt to the ground. This tale has ended on a better note than the story of the goblin who took things too far - and the BearOwl that dealt with him. But it could have ended as another deliciously bloody cautionary tale for wayward children…”
Granny pauses to rub her bony chin. “Instead, we have something the Society can be proud of, a village of mirth and levity, where fun can still be had… but responsibly.”
Granny and Hungry prepare themselves for the road ahead, ready to journey to the next adventure...

![]() |

"Yes, yes! And Shuuto here will behave from now on, right?" Schek gives the tanuki a grin, not sure of threat or happiness after what just happened to them.

![]() |

Mik-mek looks a bit battered from being chased (and bitten) by the swarms. "Yes. Shuuto will behave." he agrees, "Won't you, Shuuto?" elbowing the stout tanuki in the ribs.

QM rainzax |

Emboldened by the manyfold (and obviously hard-earned) praise, Shuuto walks right up to Fumika and says "Do you wanna go steady?" causing her to blush through her thick fur. She smiles, blurts a random non-sensical sentence, and shakes her head in the affirmative. They spend the rest of the Party... wait... another Party? Yes! This one much more quiet than the others ("responsibly" as Teacher Granny would put it)... the two shy tanuki spend the rest of the party smooching standing awkwardly close to eachother almost starting conversation (but never really)...
☘️☘️☘️ ☘️☘️☘️ ☘️☘️☘️
Mimiko looks even more scared "Oh no! Are the ōmukade coming here?" but Kenta smacks her upside the head "No no - didn't you just hear them say Shuuto drove them away?!" and Mimiko relaxes a little and both of them go around shaking everyone's hands (except Hungry - he gets a few soft head pats instead).
Then Mimiko remembers something "Oh yes. You had come here to ask my permission for something. Didn't you? As long as it's not trying to recruit the Town Hero Shuuto into the Pathfinders - because we need him here - me and Kenta are all ears. What was it?"
Kenta nods, and too waits for the party's response...

![]() |

"Oh, actually it's the opposite." Cirri looks to the town elders. "We wanted to establish a Pathfinder Lodge here. Venture-Captain Li said it would a good idea, just in case Shuuto needs more backup." She smiles and nods.

QM rainzax |

The two look at eachother, and nod easily. Kenta speaks first "We accept your terms" and leans in "Do you really think Shuuto has what it takes to lead? I mean, if you didn't notice, he's kind of - OOF" Mimiko's elbow finds his gut, cutting him off midstride - she chimes in "Thank you, Pathfinders. We shall begin clearing out a plot for your lodge. If all Pathfinders are as nice as you, we welcome you permanently to our village" She bows to each of you.
And with that, the negotiation has been made, and Amara Li is pleased "Well done Pathfinders. I hope to see you all soon"
