A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for levels 1-5.
What began as a straightforward mission to escort the displaced Farheaven Clan back to their original homeland in Sarkoris is quickly beset with misfortune. The forest where the Farheavens live is burning, and they need urgent aid. But the Farheavens aren't the only ones in danger, and tensions and blame between the locals have almost risen to open violence. Meanwhile, the inferno's source rages unchecked. Can the Pathfinder Society diffuse this volatile situation and restore peace and safety to the region?

No Day job...
Oops has played in 3 scenarios and is having trouble not only understanding his powers, but also trusting in his abilities. He's a fun loving gnome who was forced in to an adventuring role by his family.
He absolutely loved his first mission because he met the most amazing creature, a leshy, and went to a festival.
He also played in your Trial by Machine game here:

Shilah'ho (Shilak for short) hails from the sultry lands of Nagajor but due to a series of misfortunes, have repeatedly been sent on missions to the frozen north. He doesn't like that. No not at all. The cold makes his blood sluggish and makes him sleepy. He doesn't speak much - his lisp makes him hard to understand. But when he speaks, people listen. Especially when he's near 7 feet tall.
Need to update his character sheet.
Ekanta Hanoi |
Actually, I've reconsidered who I wish to be for this adventure:
Player Name I'm Hiding In Your Closet
Character Name Ekanta Hanoi
Character Class(es) / Level(s) Sensate Fighter 3
Character Number #40025-15
Faction Grand Lodge
Day Job Craft (Boneworking): May I use Angrboda's roll, above? The result would be the same.
Nota Bene: Possessing the Soul Seer alternate race feature, Ekanta can manifest deathwatch at will, so please consider that to effectively be always active.
Angrboda Fossey |
Actually, forgive me for dithering, but I'll stick with being Angrboda.

Player Name Sedoriku

Character Class(es) / Level(s) Divine Hunter Paladin 2
Character Number 108507-6
Faction Silver Crusade
Day Job She's been too busy studying about demons, listening to her parent's talk about their amazing exploits, training with a bow, and worrying to train in a profession or craft.
Kvina is the daughter of two other very famous paladins. She has a bit of past trauma with an accident on the training grounds and loathes the sight of blood, especially up close, and prefers to shoot at things from a distance. Severly underestimates herself.
Shilak'ho Ajagar |
I'll be away this weekend on a hiking trip so little to no internet. Please bot Shilak as necessary.
Shilak'ho Ajagar |
(On mobile.) Oh can anyone take Shilak with his wand of mage armor before we get to the town?

Hey everyone,
You might have noticed I haven’t posted in a long while (okay it’s only been two weeks at most but in PBP time that can still be a while.) I didn’t have an amazing and earth shattering emergency or reason for not posting, which would have made this easier to post. Life just got… busy and stressful.
I knew some stress would be coming and that I might be a bit busy, but things well exceeded what I thought. At first I was just busy (and to be honest, a little lazy) and didn’t post for a day or two, but things starting snowballing and I soon realized I hadn’t posted for days and needed to post something longer and more explanatory than a quick apology, but I didn’t have the time, motivation, or emotional fortitude.
One thing I sometimes do when stressed is become avoidant of some things, especially things that are emotionally charged. Last week was one of the most emotionally draining weeks I have had in a long time. Monday started with seeing a friend of four years off because she has stage four cancer and had to go back to the UK. I had to say goodbye to students and teachers I have taught/worked with for years (which can happen any year but was harder than usual this year.) Having to say goodbye to people is something I handle terribly and I was often going home drained and not wanting to do anything or just wanting to sleep. Additionally, the longer I went without posting here the guiltier I felt about it, which made me want to push this off further.
I shouldn’t have stopped posting here and I am truly sorry if I have made anyone wait, slowed down games at all, or have caused you any worry. I am physically okay, and will be emotionally okay, and work has slowed down some (next week might pick up a little but nowhere near what it was.)
Part of the problem might have been me taking more games than I could handle readily and should probably cut back on some of them. I would love to find out what happens with the goblins in town, but I need to lighten my PBP load. I haven’t read posts for the past 9 days, so hopefully you won’t have to issue a 0 exp chronicle sheet but I understand if that is what you decide to do. I’m sorry I have taken this long to withdraw, and I wish everyone the best with the rest of the game!
Sorry if you have/had to read this a few times, I’m posting it in all of the games I am in currently.

Round 1 over! Everyone who ends their turn adjacent to the forest fire's flames takes fire damage on a failed DC 12 Reflex save.
Was I supposed to know that would happen? I didn't catch it, if so. I would have stayed further away if I knew - I actually didn't even understand that was fire, at first (I thought it looked like we were in a cavern full of bright orange crystals or something).
Alternatively, could I make a case for "character VS player knowledge", maybe a Survival or Knowledge (Nature) roll?
GM zebeev |
The flames that are in front of you lick at your exposed skin, giving you a warning not to dawdle next to them.
I'd wrote the above line in the initial post for the first round of combat so as to not completely spell it out.
The initial triggering of the hazard should have happened after the first turn of the entire combat when Shilak'ho ended their Round 1 while adjacent to the fire, but the nature of updating and the block initiative having everyone act at once kind of broke the sequencing.
Because Shilak'ho's Reflex save would have tipped you off, you would have known of the existence of the hazard at the start of your turn for Round 1, so I'll negate the damage sustained. :]
"Oops" Singebottom |
Hey guys sorry for my sudden abscence, I was welcoming my second child to the world.
She cane here a little faster than anticipated but is beautiful, and healthy. I’ll be keeping a close eye on my wife next few nights but should be able to post in the evening, bit me as needed.
Angrboda Fossey |
Nota Bene: I have Spirit Sense, which is a bit tricky to use in PbP, but assume I keep a third eye out when I can.
GM zebeev |
I'll try to get Chronicles written up tonight, as with the four-day holiday coming up, it might slip my mind with all the travel and obligations.
Thanks everyone for playing, if you've any feedback, anything I can improve on, please PM me, I know there were a few slip ups, but hopefully everything was fair and above board.
Shilak'ho Ajagar |
Do we roll for boons or will GM roll for all of us?
Angrboda Fossey |
Boon?: 1d20 ⇒ 14
There was this one year I got really lucky....
Teraren Val'Tor |
Boon?: 1d20 ⇒ 13
Chronicle looks fine.
*Same here. I usually don't get a Boon, but one time last year I not only got 3 Boons in one Outpost but to my surprise won $10 credit on the Paizo website.

Thanks for another great game GM Zebeev, I enjoy your games a lot and the pace you keep the game at.
