Looks like a lot of fun Mort. Is that place close by to where you live/work? Lucky you if it is - means you can go there whenever you feel like, and 'take the load off' :D

GM Mort |

Rozalia - go spend your money, or not, then once Auryl gets his character ready, we can begin.
Also I ran and played Carrion Hill, so I could drop a line or two on what happened to Rozalia's husband, if she wants it.

Rozalia Tilescu |

Yes, that would be cool, GM.
I will spend my cash tomorrow morning, but I am ready to start posting whenever.

![]() |

Which state are you at and how much snow are you getting? Like you guys say what is this thing called "sun", I'll say, what is this thing called "snow"?

GM Mort |

Wait for Auryl to get himself ready with full backstory, then I'll have the newcomers put in a coach, gift wrapped and shipped to Dunlob.

It is about 1h 30 min boat ride and another 1h 30 min car ride from HarbourFront Ferry Terminal.
Id say the place isnt much in terms of view, but you get the privacy to do whatever you want, which for me is practicing kayaking and some sea swimming.
My colleague managed to take a video of a monitor lizard and I saw a medium sized red, white and brown bird but it flew off before I could get a good picture of it.

Alabama and very little, originally one to three inches. But it has been raining all day and the temperatures will cause that all to freeze which is the reason for it all. And cause we almost never have snow we don't have any of the usual bits cities have to clear roads and such.
So… the entire city will be shut down for a day.
Piotr is just resting anyway.

Garrosh Saurfang |

For me, snow is still a 'new and unusual' thing, since I moved only recently to northern Europe - so I find it really cool :D

Caraid |

*sigh* Really cool? Is the best freezing pun you could come up with?
Just let it go.
:P
Will double check my gold spending now.

Rozalia Tilescu |

Should be good to go.

Garrosh Saurfang |

Was an accidental pun :P

![]() |

Damn, I wanted to say I liked frozen and I even made a parody of the lyrics.
Let it blow, let it blow,
Can't hold it back anymore
Let it blow, let it blow,
Turn around blow up the door.
I don't care what they're going to say
Let the storm rage on.
It never bothered me anyway.
-Sung while playing a mage deck in hearthstone when Archmage Antonidas is out.

Does this song come up a lot?
I came from Alabama
Wid my banjo on my knee,
I'm g'wan to Louisiana
My true love for to see,
It rained all night the day I left,
The weather it was dry,
The sun so hot I froze to death;
Susanna, don't you cry.
Oh! Susanna, Oh! don't you cry for me,
I've come from Alabama, with my banjo on my knee

You kids know nothing of snow. Back in my day, we didn't close anything down until the snow reached as high as a man's waist. The kids would have to swim through the snow to get to school. It was -30C out, and the wind was blowing so hard that cars were dragged off the highway. And when it all melted, oh Nelly, we'd have ourselves a proper flood.
Ain't like it used to be, you know. I don't know if it's this new fangled global warming or whatnot, but I tell you it's been getting a lot warmer since... your mother turned up the damn thermostat!

John Gs |

:) You live in Canada, Treasure! That is 1000 miles north of me!
And sigh, kids are out of school, work is closed, and there wasn't a single snow flake or ice anything. I think they try to panic us all just to get us to run out and buy tons of milk and bread.
Oh Suzanna, yep, but as kids though. Had to sing it in some kind of school play if I remember correctly.

GM Mort |

Hot is good. Cold weather basically sends me into a stupor. I don't handle cold well.
Yeah I think unseasonal weather makes everyone panic, I've ever encountered hail in Singapore once. Sure, really small bits but hail nonetheless.

Garrosh Saurfang |

Personally, I only like warm weather if I am on vacations or weekend or something - give me warm beach sand on my feet, and a gin and tonic in my hand and I am a happy man.
But while I am working I'll have moderate to cold thank you very much - going to work with warm weather just sucks - sweating on the public transportation, or when you get out of the car (thank God for AC). Melting down during lunch break when you go out to eat again. Having to fight with people who think the office AC should be even warmer than outside! Nah. Pass.

GM Mort |

I think you and I would come to blows in the office, Garrosh =P
I'm always wearing a jacket in the office and I'm still finding it too cold down there. Now which genius decided the central air conditioning system should be that cold...
Again I can run in 30 degree Celsius noonday heat(around 86F),in 80+% humidity without being too uncomfortable.
I'm heat resistant, but vulnerable to cold.

Kilarra Dimir |

Oh Canada... our cold and frigid land...
I have a coworker who just arrived from Nigeria. She's wearing three heavy layers and cuddles her hot coffee. We've been telling her that the winter this year has been surprisingly warm. She's not happy about it.

I would have the same reaction pretty much, then offer to send you to Singapore and well maybe you might melt into a puddle ^^

Garrosh Saurfang |

At least you are wearing a jacket - that would commend some respect from me at least - unlike girls showing up with sandals and light blouses in the summer, and claiming the AC is too cold when I have to wear at least a business casual outfit to work...
Me and some more guys were seriously considering wearing shorts and flip flops to work last Summer... To try and make a point.
Kilarra, no need to make the girl panic right away by telling her it is not that cold :D
(P.S: I would NOT be a happy camper walking outside with 30 Celsius and 80% humidity, unless I was heading FAST to a large body of water)

Kilarra Dimir |

I'm in the mountains. What's this humidity you speak of?
Yes I would absolutely melt. We get 30C in the summer (sometimes up to 40), but not with 80% humidity. I've learned (the hard way) that humidity has a huge impact.
Welcome to Canada! I hope you knew that you were flying to one of the coldest parts of Southern Canada, where the air's so dry it sucks the moisture right out of your lungs. Did you know that we don't shut anything down unless the snow is piled so high that people can't get out of their homes? Icy roads? That's just natural pavement! Just make sure to look out for the potholes! I hope you enjoy your stay!!

GM Mort |

Actually too dry gives me problems too. I went to visit my brother in Arizona and I couldn't run outside/exert myself down there - my nose kept getting clogged up each time I tried. The amount of sunlight was giving me problems - I actually have sunlight sensitivity. I think with transition lenses it would be a lot better now. I figured it was humidity issue, because the moment I hit San Diego, I could like run down the street happily without any nose blocks.
Potholes - Cambodia has a fair share of them so it's a fair bumpity ride. Once I was in Cambodia, we packed our stuff in the bus so full, we couldn't get out by the door so we climbed out of the window =P
I think walking on an icy road is dangerous if its like walking on algae. Bleh that stuff is slippery as fk. And in cold weather I will huddle indoors and shiver.
I don't even sweat much walking outside with 30 Celsius and 80% humidity. However heat resistance does NOT fully cover running so if I run I'll sweat as per normal.

Caraid |

Florida last summer was interesting - but that was the 100% humidity speaking. Britain is just gloomy and cold right now. And for most of the year, until the heatwave hits, cooks us all for four months, and then dumps us back in the grey clouds again!
It's ok, once we leave the EU we'll get better weather! :/

Rozalia Tilescu |

I live in Florida so it's almost always hot and/or rainy.

GM Mort |

Will let Rozalia, Caraid and Auryl yak some as Auryl solidifies his personality.

GM Mort |

If I don't remember wrongly London is a little low lying and because of being surrounded by water, so it has the tendency to fog up.
I'm feeling cold on the train again at 6.30 am in the morning. Sigh. Two stops so I'm not whipping my jacket out.
Nov/Dec months when it hit 24 degrees at night I was feeling cold in outside temperatures if I wasn't wearing a jacket.

GM Mort |

Tell them to wear something warmer. Granted some of my clothes are pretty much meant for hot weather, but well, I end up jacketting over it.

Garrosh Saurfang |

Oh I have... Endless discussions about AC... Yeah, good times...
So you think 24 at night is a low temp :)

GM Mort |

Yes! Brrrr! Well if temperatures get colder then out come the long johns and lots of hiding under blankets.

![]() |

Just went running up and down hills with running buddies.Weeee!
Also managed to book myself a rock climbing class this Sunday. I wonder how I'll do on it.

Caraid |

With Caraid sometimes I feel I'm channeling Magneto from X-men. =P
Not a bad image, or Emperor Palpatine. Caraid is basically a much less angry, more confused Anakin Skywalker... :)

![]() |

Emperor Palpatine is LE. Count Lowls doesn't really fit the bill for lawful.
Even though some comic fans peg him as LE, I personally think Magneto has more chaos in him then Palpatine does. In the movies he does showboat quite some, whereas Empreor Palpatine was more of the behind the scenes manipulator.

Caraid |

GM Mort |

Yeah I did. It's an interesting song. The music is quite upbeat, but if you read the lyrics its as sad as Colin Raye's "Love me."

Garrosh Saurfang |

Mike Oldfield ftw!!

GM Mort |

Also heads up, It's Chinese New Year coming soon so posts from me are going to be slow as I'm tied up with family thingies involving preparing and cooking of food. Like cheng-tng , Popiah and Osmanthus jelly.
Will be busy till after 6th Feb.

![]() |

And this is what I did on Sunday.
Couldn't quite get to the top on the easiest lane.

![]() |

Not where I am..
Mort the bird rescue cat…
I found a little bird near my office
On advice of acres wildlife rescue, I put it back on the nearest tree branch
(They asked me if I was comfortable handling the bird in question, seeing it’s just a small one – so the claws and beak would probably do minimal damage, I said yes)
Now I know that I should NOT be able to get so near to a bird to take photographs without the bird panicking and flying off, so I suspected that the bird for some reason, cannot fly. Turns out it’s a fledgling. So I did get to touch a small bird today.

John Gs |

Still Sunday here too, but Monday is rapidly approaching. Ugh...
The bird is adorable! We'd find fledglings in our yard a lot growing up(we lived next to the woods), and often if they stayed out there long enough with no mother in sight, we'd get the notion to try and raise them...
The internet is a wonderful thing, wish we had it back then to tell us we were idiots :(
You did a good deed, Mort.

GM Mort |

The thing about the bird was that I called acres wildlife rescue because I didn't want to "get my hands dirty" so to speak, since what does a large cat know about handling birds?
Basically you're asking a wizard to do a druid's job...well the ranks in knowledge nature are there, but no ranks in handle animal. So I scouped it up, somewhat like you'd do with a a hamster, then plopped it on the nearest tree branch. It did fidget a little in my palms but eh, well, I'm a wizard, not a druid.
Wiki tells you to use a towel, I suppose I could have used my jacket, but trying to plop a bird in a jacket up a tree branch would take longer and possibly stress the little birdie more(which imo would do more harm then good).
Anyway when I went there two hours later, there was no birdie on the branch. Presumably the papa and mama bird took care of matters.

GM Mort |

And the other day I told someone off for fishing in a no fishing area. When he played dumb I called the park authorities to send someone down. One would think I'm some kind of conservationist but I suspect it is the more lawful side of me speaking like hey dude, laws are meant to be followed.
Though I do like the great outdoors.
I also have no animal empathy. On the trip to batam, the cats and dogs approached my colleagues, but not me.
