Good! It's a dangerous line of work. Just stay home where it's safe, darling, and let Mommy take care of things.

On a more serious note if anyone might be thinking I might have done things a little too much to extremes. There are tangible health benefits in losing weight.
My medical report came in couple of days back. Not that I had any issues to begin with but all those bad stats went down while the good cholesterol went up.
All readings are in mg/dl
Total Cholesterol last year – 184
Total Cholesterol this year – 176
Blood Triglycerides (TG) last year - 86
Blood Triglycerides (TG) this year - 38
HDL (good) Cholesterol last year – 55
HDL (good) Cholesterol this year - 65
LDL(bad) Cholesterol last year - 112
LDL(bad) Cholesterol this year - 103
The only problem was that my blood pressure dropped from 117/70 mm Hg last year to 94/60 mm Hg this year.
But my blood pressure has always been abit on the low side.

GM Mort |

Also nephew sitting tomorrow and nature rambling with aunt on Sunday as well as various pizza experiments so eh...activity will be limited.

Kilarra Dimir |

Happy kid = Relived parents
Though I too would get whiney after too much walking

GM Mort |

Hrrrmmm. How old is he? Above 10 or under?
Well eh...I once did a 40 km trek over jungle trails through muck for 12h of being on my feet solid, but again I'm sort of crazy ;)

GM Mort |

If they brought my nephew earlier in the morning I would take him for the 5 km Park Run. I've trained myself to be able to carry a light load while jogging. Sure, I won't be going very fast that way, but I should be able to carry 600 ml of water, a change of clothes, an umbrella and a towel inside my sling bag and still jog around with it. For 5km if need be.

Garrosh Saurfang |

I've began 2 weeks ago - 45-60 min walk every other day (at around 100 steps per min).
For now I'll take an Uber please ;)

GM Mort |

Also, bring your kids out walking/running Garrosh =D
And here's an embarrassing secret of mine - I walk slowly. Like 4.0km/h, or 2.4 miles/h.
Might be due to the city being very crowded so I don't get much chance to walk fast or I'm used to having skirts/dresses hampering my mobility so I don't walk very fast, but most people walk faster then I do. Again if I really need to get to places fast it's time to jog.

John Gs |

Wife still recovering from her cold and now two out of three kids have fevers. Not bad ones, just enough to make everyone miserable. Still it has been a bad illness year, with the flu and now whatever this is (not the flu)
So... I made SOUP! (simple cream based soup with sausage and onions, not from a can)
and everyone is still alive!!! so far at least. But if I never post again, you can tell people it was the SOUP in his sleep that got him.

Kilarra Dimir |

Nice job, John. My mother liked to make garlic soup when we got sick.

John Gs |

That's cool! I do love the THING our mom's made us when we were sick, always different per person, but awesome.
For us, it was bologna and cheese sandwiches with butter. For my wife, it was potato soup. My kids normally would get tomato soup and grilled cheese.
What did the rest of you get better with growing up?

Kilarra Dimir |

Lemon tea was a staple for my family
As a child I hated tea, but I drank lemon tea anyways whenever I was sick. Mom would make it for me while I lay on the bed feeling like yuck.

GM Mort |

Yayyy! Your cooking skill gained a level John!
Me? Rice porridge lol. And herbal teas. I drink about next to anything as well so I don't complain overly much.
I thought most people ended up with chicken soup with potatoes and carrots in it?

Kilarra Dimir |

There were a few times mom made chicken noodle soup, but it was pretty rare. Really good though, she made the noodles too.

Garrosh Saurfang |

Chicken soup definitely ;)

GM Mort |

It's funny though. I'm having a good laugh here heh.
I also managed to jog 10 km continuously and finished it in a time of approximately 1h 12 min.

GM Mort |

... I made chicken soup today because my throat is not being nice. Are y'all spying on me?! ._. no carrot or potatoes though, just a general bag of pre-cut veggies from the supermarket. Yeah, that's how we do in the Netherlands xD
Well, there's a book called Chicken soup for the soul, so I thought people drink chicken soup when they are sick. Now in Asian culture, it won't happen because we believe that chicken causes phlegm and thus should be avoided if you have a cough. But that's cultural context for you.

GM Mort |

It regretfully took me way too long to understand you there Kilarra :) Old brain.
Actually I'm not as shapely as I used to be and got a little more muscular too, so if Pitor leans towards the Rugged tiefling look... I see nothing wrong with that =P
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder^^

Garrosh Saurfang |

Don't do it Mort... Cheese and sardines. Don't... :D

GM Mort |

Well I had it this morning its more like a sardine and cheese toast. Rather messy to eat, due to tomato sauce dripping all over the place but taste is fine =)
That's the problem when you're trying to use the Cheddar in the fridge and don't get Mozarella to hold stuff in place. Everything goes all over the place.

Rozalia Tilescu |

Sorry for not answering your question about the doppelgangers, Piotr. I overlooked it.

Piotr Tataru |

:) NO worries!

GM Mort |

"When I give you a policy, I want you to file it immediately!"
Dude, you give it to me at the end of tuesday, expect it scanned when I'm about to head off with my BF(yes I stayed back, got pissed off about outlook not loading) and did that. Then I have like 42 documents that I need to upload, then zip up and send to other parties, some vendor requested terms and conditions amendments, document work required for selling of asset that I haven't even had time to file my own insurance policies. Get in line, gosh!
I really do NOT have the time to do any filing.
Also sending stuff to 3rd parties? I was told by the sender to go and find the addresses myself, then after I sent the whole lot, the person who asked me to do it said, oh, my colleague only sent to one person.
Me: Couldn't you freaking have told me earlier? I did ask and you told me to find the addresses myself so I did what you told me to do and now you're saying that I did it wrongly?

Garrosh Saurfang |

So Mort, how's your Thursday coming along? ;)

GM Mort |

Now? After I've worked out, a lot better. But I still need to top up the fish tank filter and buy a new lock for gym and I haven't had dinner yet. Still can't do a pull-up. Grrrr=P
It's been weeks of unsuccessful trying thus far.
Edited: OK, I got my lock. That's one thing done, next stop, fish tank filter.

Garrosh Saurfang |

Well done, you're better off than me - still at work... And this has been a particularly annoying week so far, trying to deal with disorganized people, instructions, you name it...

GM Mort |

Yeah giving me unclear instructions or wrong ones then calling me out on it later is one way of pissing me off. I function pretty much like an inevitable. What instructions you put in will be taken literally and come out the other end.

Caraid |

Yeah... it's something special really. And the one time I rolled a 19 the damn thing was prone and getting +4 AC against me!

GM Mort |

Ok, my bad. I didn't realize it was doppelganger's turn yesterday. I need to pay more attention to things at hand.

Garrosh Saurfang |

Yeah... Not all weeks are good ones. Mine has been sucking HARD! Really looking forward to the weekend.

Garrosh Saurfang |

Caraid, out of curiosity because I know nothing about Telekineticists - you have an at will attack for 1d6+5? Much like an arrow, but with more bonuses to damage? And do you need ammo of some sort?

Caraid |

No its my 'basic' attack. Comes in two flavours: d6+1+full con, damage with normal to hit, or d6+half con, hits against touch AC. I've got the full con version and point blank shot which is how I'm doing it.
Normally it involves battering your opponent with elemental matter, but I'm telekinetic so I'm just chucking loose rocks etc around with no accuracy what-so-ever!
Once I actually get precise shot and can hit things I'll be a super-tanky character who deals tonnes of damage. (If I ever hit anything...)

Garrosh Saurfang |

I'm thinking my next 'archer' will be a Telekineticist :D
How does the damage scale?
And why super-tanky, because of the CON stacking?
Hope you don't mind me asking :P

Caraid |

Damage for Caraid rises by 1d6+1 every two levels. So 3d6+3+con at level 5 for example.
Tanky because you need Con to run anything kinetic and dex to use the ranged attacks properly, so I'll end up with strong AC, even better HP and a regenerating force shield, as well as the ability to be invisible (even from blindsense etc), pick locks at range and other cool stuff.
Their main downside is that they have to take NL damage to trigger most of their more powerful stuff, so having huge HP is a must to offset that.
I'm looking at Precise Shot, Toughness and Weapon Finesse as my next few feats. I should have taken one of them already but this is by far the best campaign for Glimpse Beyond so fluff beats mechanics! :D Once I have Wp Fin and Kinetic Blade/Whip I'll be able to fight in melee too and up to 15ft reach for AAO's. With combat reflexes it can get quite silly!

Garrosh Saurfang |

Wow... 1d6+1 every two levels? Damn...
And can you also use stuff like Rapid Shot, or something similar?
Any guide or something that you would suggest for me to read about it? Seems like they may be making archers obsolete :P

Caraid |

NJolly published a good guide to the Kineticist - you might find it here, or a little google-fu will get it I'm sure.
Rapid shot etc is all kosher, as is Ability Focus and stuff like that.
Problem for Kinets is you can't enchant them - so you can never get '+5 Vorpal' kinetic bursts or anything like that. Low level/low wealth games they rock because they need absolutely no gear to be able to function pretty well. At high levels enchanted weapons and stuff level the field a fair bit.
I'll probably hit a point where I would literally pay for extra feats....

GM Mort |

Someone did DPR on archers and kineticist before, archers came out on top, but well kineticists have some funky abilities. Like air kineticists have at will fly if you choose the right wild talents.
Also kineticists can hit swarms and incorporeals, which is a problem for starting groups, or if you can't get the right gear.
