At the illegal raceway, Poppo tries to dodge the jockeys as they ride but, then ends up hijacking a horse instead, leaping onto it's back.

I'm pretty sure we have no idea where they're going so since we've lost them we could strike out on our own, listen to a few people and maybe try and meet up with them? Or head back to where we started before we saw him. I don't know where they'd look for us and hate to get separated too long. If we happen to get parched along the way we can stop....but wait a second, you're just recovering! Nope, we'll look for some hot tea!

BobE's skull continues to fly but isn't as successful this time. Poppo and Turngut are only able to move forward a little bit but are right on the tail of Greirat. Nalia and BobE give up all together and start to figure out how they will regroup with Poppo and Turngut.

Greirat Bluff DC:16: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14

Hello fellow gang member just taking a break here. Greirat calmly tries to bluff his way past a thuggish guard at a small stone tower but the guard does not let him through.

Everyone can go!

Poppo enters the black market. He zig-zags through stacks of barrels and crates, barely making it through unseen. He does a somersault right onto the zipline overhead. As he reaches its end, he manages to somersault over the cistern and lands conveniently by a halfling size crack next to the guard tower that was hard to see. Luckily the guards are busy accosting Greirat and Poppo squeezes through unnoticed and can still see Greirat stuck at the tower. He quickly hides ready to grab him when he gets through.

Eventually Greirat is able to make it by the guard but as he does he is snatched by Poppo. Oh dear! My my what do you chaps want? I swear I didn't steal anything from you!

Poppo still catching his breath a bit, Your not in any trouble! Relax. You sure know your way round the Undercity! Probably only a fellow halfling could have caught ya, Poppo gives him his goofy victory grin.

Names Poppo, the orc about to catch up is Turngut, and somewhere back there are my other friends BobE and Nalia. We just need some information from you. He pauses and leans in and whispers.

We're looking for Trusty Patches, he's help us before, for some coin you know, and well we think he can help us find someone whose trying not to be found, but that we need to find. I'm sure you understand, we think you know where Trusty is?? Can you help?

If you wanted to talk you very well could have said so! Greirat chuckles. Greirat nervously looks at Poppo when he brings up Patches You're looking for Patches? Well he could certianly tell you how to find those who can't be found. But he specifically asked me not tell anyone where he was. It's the assassins in the city you see. They have it out for poor old Patches because he knows information about pretty much everything in the city.

Maps/Handouts

I don't think he would like that, he is refusing to come out of hiding for any reason. You say you've dealt with him before? And based on the look of your woman friend you work for the Holy Order right? Most of the people down here trust the Holy Order as much as you'd trust a jaguar sneaking up on you. But me I know better and so does Patches. I'll take you to him but you have to promise not to hurt him.

This is sure good tea!! Darjeeling, I think. Wait a sec, did you sneak something in your tea BobE?

Giving the old man the eye, she shifts nervously, not liking being separated from her friends in unfamiliar terrain. Wonder what's going on and if they'll find us? Truth be told BobE, I've been gaining some weight lately. I've always been tall and sort of bigger boned than most young lasses but I'm beginning to wonder if that messed me up going up the wall. I would have thought it was muscle weight but now I just don't know. Do you think it shows? Am I getting a bit thick in the middle? You can be honest with me... I won't get upset....

Maps/Handouts

Good show then! Myself I've always had the upmost respect for the Keepers of the Holy Order. I'll take you to Patches! Greirat gives Poppo a wink which you can barely make out through his sack mask. But first lets go collect your other friends. No doubt they will get lost down here. Lucky for you my fellow halfling I know the Lower Burg like no other! Oh but how rude an uncivilized of me. Greirat thief extraordinaire at your service.

Turngut quickly catches up as Greirat takes you back to where the chase began and you are all easily able to group back up. Greirat leads you out of the the Lower Burg and even further down into the Undercity. The stink of filth gets worse and worse and you soon find an eerie silence has crept up on you No one really comes down this way, rumors of basilisks I hear. Never seen one though but I'd still tread cautiously.

Greirat leads you around briskly more quick than even Poppo on his feet. You cross a small stone bridge which looks more ancient than anything else you've seen in the Undercity. Then Greirat leads you to a boarded up two story stone building. This is where Ole Patches has been hiding out, not the worst place in the Undercity. Greirat walks up to the door pulling out thieves tools and quickly unlocks the door. You lot head on in and talk to Patches! I'll keep watch out here just in case we were followed.

Turngut looks down at Greirat scornfully once he finally catches up to the 2 halflings. Turngut could have caught little man. Although a bit dejected by his failure to catch up to the thief, he is very vocal in his pride for Poppo's ability to beat the other halfling in a race. Once rejoined with the others, he follows along to the stone building, but looks around very carefully in case there might be a basilisk or 2 under some of the barrels in the alley...

Patches takes the pouch of gold tossing it in the air before putting it in one of his belt pouches. Right, the Butcher mean old rotten bugger. Got hit on the head during the war made him go all loopy. Knew one Francis Bedlam during the very same war. Anyway recently my little birds have been seeing a gentleman fitting his description leaving and entering a small warehouse near the Undercity square. Bit strange though, sometimes he will enter the warehouse, not exit, then re enter again. Very peculiar. Also recently a young devil born bard named Otir Teague went missing near there. People go missing down here all the time but Teague is an experienced treasure hunter so its unlikely the rats got him. Patches takes a breath and scratches a bandage on his right arm. You need anything else Poppo Nobebody?

And with that last question, Turngut's hand flashes out and grabs Greirat by the wrist and pulls at the bandage.

My dear I am Patches, Trusty Patches. Greirat is the little thief that led you here. Do have pleasant stay here in the Undercity. Patches waves goodbye.

You exit Patches hideout and Greirat leads you back the Lower Burg Not many warehouses down here he says if asked if he knows where any warehouses may be located. Most of the ones down here are half destroyed but I know of one that is still standing.

Greirat will lead you to the warehouse he knows about then depart. The warehouse itself is about twenty feet tall with a sloped roof. A loading dock of sorts only rises to ten feet tall and has a set of wooden double doors, closed. On the other side of the warehouse is a single wooden door also closed. Check slides for map.

At the warehouse, Poppo takes charge.

Turngut you watch that backdoor, anyone comes out you snag 'um. BobE, Nalia you watch that the front double doors. Do it from across the street. I'm going to check if there are any other secret entrances or exits. If not we'll go in the back door. He tells them.

Once they move into position he begins to search the perimeter, sneakily.

Perception: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (16) + 12 = 28
Stealth: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (1) + 16 = 17

If he finds a secret entrance, he'll check it for traps and then collect the others.
If he doesn't find anything, he'll collect BobE and Nalia and go to the back door, joining Turngut, and then check that door for traps. Disabling anything he finds.

Perception for traps: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (10) + 12 = 22
Disable Device if needed: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (5) + 13 = 18

Also are there any windows, if so anyone looking out?

Influence Opponent’s Attitude:

You can use Intimidate to force an opponent to act friendly toward you for 1d6 × 10 minutes with a successful check. The DC of this check is equal to 10 + the target’s Hit Dice + the target’s Wisdom modifier.

Success: If successful, the opponent will:

…give you information you desire

…offer other limited assistance
After the intimidate expires, the target treats you as unfriendly and may report you to local authorities.

Fail: If you fail this check by 5 or more, the target attempts to deceive you or otherwise hinder your activities.

You're not real sure on if this guy is hiding something or not. The mercenary knocks on the wooden door behind him and a few seconds later another mercenary similarly dressed enters These two have a meeting with Mr. Tolstock, would you take them to his office please. The other mercenary nods and motions for you two to follow him.

The warehouse is very large with hundreds of barrels and crates Mr. Tolstock is one of the biggest sellers of legitimate goods here in the Undercity. But if you ask me I'm not quite sure how he makes a profit down here. An office in the South West corner juts out into the warehouse and above it is a small observation deck with stairs that lead up to it. The mercenary cracks the door and peeps his head into the office Mr. Tolstock some gentlemen here to see you.

What? I didn't have any appointments today. a gruff slightly slurred voice comes from the office.

Oh sorry sir I figured since you didn't have any meetings it would be fine for you to have a meeting if in the need for one arose.

A loud audible sigh comes from the office Fine, fine send them in. Turngut and Poppo enter a quite lavish office with a white lion skin rug. An ornate desk sits in the corner and several bookshelves line the wall. Sitting in a chair behind the desk rolling a cigarette and sipping from a goblet full of a red liquid is a fat man. His hair is ratty and his appearance unpleasant. His clothes at a brief glance look fine but are stained with sweat and dirt and who knows what else. He lights his cigarette Alright what do you two want as you can see I'm very busy!

Poppo tries to change tactics a bit, knowing that despite his appearance this is likely a powerful person in the Undercity.

Ah, Mr. Tolstock, yes, sorry to bother you on a quiet day. I'm Poppo Hedgehopper and this is Turngut. We didn't know about making appointments. Anyway, we are here because we heard you could help us find William Brown. Can you help us? Poppo inquires.

Turngut takes up a bodyguard-like position by the door and keeps an ear out for trouble. Despite his desire to remain alert, he can't keep his eyes from drifting to the white lion rug. Pretty!

William Brown? Hobson ponders for a moment William Brown, William Brown. he says to himself I don't think I know a William Brown I'm afraid, but I see so many faces nowadays haha He stands up and walks over to a nearby bookshelf retrieving a brown bottle But perhaps a cup of brandy shared with some fine fellows will help me to remember. He pours three glasses of orangish liquid and hands one cup to Poppo and one to Turngut before downing his cup in a few seconds.

Sorry guys, dropped off for a few days there. Now I'm back.

Nalia and BobE are I'm assuming still standing just inside the door after hearing Poppo and Turngut's 'conversation'.

So, my friends are all in a bother and not very used to polite conversation. What they meant to say was Good afternoon! I hope your day has been wonderful so far. You do look quite dashing standing there guarding your master. Check out my bow, is it longer than yours? With that, she tries to engage the guard with casual conversation while looking around the warehouse. Racking her brain, she is trying to make sure this should be the only functional warehouse in the area. Maybe he was working out of a dilapidated one?
