You don't find any secret compartments but while you are searching more arcs of blue arcane energy flow into you.
Your arcane fever goes up 3%. From here on out Arcane Fever will become a problem more and more so you might want to add it to your stats like Poppo has.

Poppo Hedgehopper |

I feel kinda funny. Poppo is a little nauseous from the arcane fever, but he thinks he likes it.

![]() |

Do we all have the 9% arcane fever or just Poppo? Is this something we would have learned about or is it a new effect we're learning about now? Like you mentioned casting too many spells lets you then have that effect; only for mages? Not clerics? Or don't know yet?
Let's get you back away from those things. I'm not so sure blue sparks in your skin is good for you. I think we need to share out some equipment so we're all as protected as we can be.

Benjen Harris |

Only Poppo has 9%. You guys wouldn't have experienced arcane crystals like this but would have definitely heard of arcane fever. Arcane Fever effects both divine and arcane casters.

![]() |

Hey Blue come along here. Maybe next time we can have Blue here go check stuff out. His armor looks a little shabby. Think we can dress him up some? Oh and if anyone is hurt, I can ask Eronodina to heal y'all.

![]() |

I'm only down 3, don't think anyone else was injured. Don't know how frequent you can heal; don't want to waste one. You can keep the skeleton around with us?

Poppo Hedgehopper |

Once the lamellar cuirass has been donned by someone.
Poppo suggests a course of action.
Let's let Mr. Blue here lead us up the stairs.
@GM - do we need to have a torch lit to see in here?

![]() |

So Ib can do the lamellar curiass and Poppo you’ll use the small short sword? Who will use the bow? Bobbie did you have a club?

Benjen Harris |

In the rooms you have been in you can see perfectly fine but the rest of the dungeon will require a torch.

![]() |

yeah i get to keep the unintelligent undead until they re-die. intelligent get a daily check to rebel. Does the skeleton have a weapon? if not can we give him one and the armor if no one wants it. I have a shovel and hand of the apprentice, so I can throw it at people and it comes back to me. -4 since I don't have improv weapon yet. I could use a simple weapon, but I am counting the shovel as my diety focus thing. If I am in cc I did something wrong, at least as of yet.
Think we can put a torch inside Blue? that way no one has to hold it. Anyone have a weapon for him?

Benjen Harris |

Blue has a broken scimitar, you believe you would be able to put a torch inside his rib cage.

Poppo Hedgehopper |

Skeleton torchbearer! Poppo squeals, holding back the laughter.
I would think Ib would want the armor though, He mentions to bobie and looks to Ib.

Benjen Harris |

If everyone has the gear they would like lets press on.
Up the stairs leads to a doorway the decrepit door lies of the ground have long fallen from its hinges. At the corner of this hallways is a large hole in the floor.

Poppo Hedgehopper |

Poppo squeezes past the others following behind Blue; he hides behind the undead guide, then moves to the other wall looking for shadows. He edges toward the big hole, careful not to fall in. Creeping ever forward until he can see as far down as he can.
Stealth: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (13) + 11 = 24
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20

![]() |

Nalia follows along as quietly as she can. I'll also look around this area before the pit for anything odd on the walls, floors or ceiling.
perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15

Benjen Harris |

At the bottom of this 10ft down spiked pit is the remains of a human, now skeletal impaled by one of the spikes. You see a round wooden circle, which you would assume to be a shield. You also see a warhammer and a pouch.
Nalia you don't notice anything unusual about the walls, floors, or ceiling besides occasional scattered bones and cobwebs.

Poppo Hedgehopper |

Poppo steps back to the others and in a hushed tone says, Looks like might be some good things down there in the pit! But how do we get down there without killing ourselves, see there are spikes down there.
Don't think we have rope, we might need to come back to this, unless someone has a bright idea.
@Gm - is the only way passed it, to sort of jump around the corner?

![]() |

Ib, you are probably the most nimble of us. Think you could run from your current spot and jump across the pit? Then we could maybe hug the corner and clasp hands and you could pull us over.
I assume there is no false floor in down position like the trap is sprung and we could pull a lever and make the floor pop back up. Wonder if that made sense.

Ib The Bruiser |

Ib runs around the corner pulling up the britches on his new armor.
Sorry for dragging behind... I can make it no question. I'm interested in getting that war-hammer though!
In the blink of an eye Ib is trying to safely hoist himself down in avoidance of the spikes.
Take a ten on acrobatics for 17

Benjen Harris |

Ib easily makes it across on the other side of the pit all you see are cob webs and a few bones, however with your passive perception you notice a rope covered in dust in the corner.
This is a standard 50ft rope.

![]() |

Ib, you think we all need to come over there? Does the room go on or is it a dead end. We can help lower you down into the pit with that rope or use it help get across the pit. I'd like to see what's in the pouch as well. I could probably lower Popp down into the pit as well.

Benjen Harris |

Ib it does appear that the room does not have a dead end and continues on to another room that goes down ten feet.

![]() |

I don't know how my old bones will handle this. Let lower Blue down and then if we fall, it will only be 4 foot down instead of 6. skeletons should make good ladders.

![]() |

Anything to secure the rope to on our side and on Ib's side? Then if tight rope could use it to hold on to and shimmy around the corner without having to go into the pit. We could then just lower Popo into the pit to retrieve items and then pull him back out. If not, we can begin the process of lowering everyone and then lifting everyone out.
Love the skeletons should make good ladders comment!! Ha!

Poppo Hedgehopper |

Yeah, I'll let you lower me down, there could be gold down there! Poppo agrees with the plan.

Benjen Harris |

You look around for something to tie the rope to but you dont find anything of the sort.

![]() |

I'll lower Poppo down then the skeleton. Then I can assist Bobie down after Poppo gives the all clear that we're not getting attacked down in the hole. I can then climb down on skeleton ladder and then climb up the far side to then help get everyone out of the pit.
Sound like an ok plan?

Poppo Hedgehopper |

Yes! Lower me down there to get the treasure! I hope there will be gold! Poppo has a greedy glint in his eye.
Assuming Naila lowers him on the rope, Poppo is careful to avoid the spikes, and pokes gently at the items with his short sword before actually touching them.
Perception in the pit: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
DD in case anything looks fishy: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10
I notice nothing and nothing is fishy...lol

Benjen Harris |

As Poppo is lowered into the pit he doesn't notice anything suspicious. The large wooden circle is in fact a light wooden shield. The warhammer seems to be in decent condition and is only rusty around the handle. Inside the pouch is 4GP and 10SP. Surprisingly the skeleton at the bottom of the pit does not rise when you go down.
You are able to cross the pit to the other side. As Ib previously said the room continues to a slope that leads down 10ft into another room.

Poppo Hedgehopper |

Once raised out of the pit, Poppo hands the warhammer over to Ib, This should bring a smile to your face! He then hold up the shield between Ib and Nalia, Who wants this?
Hey bobie that skeleton down in the pit wasn't moving, can you fix it, like you did with this one? Poppo points to Blue.
Maybe we should let Blue use the pick?
As the group moves on, Poppo looks up at the Warpriestess.
I don't want to press my luck, I think I'll stay tucked in behind you Nalia.

Ib The Bruiser |

Ib looks saddened as he hands the pick to Blue. Yet he lets out a grin as he takes the warhammer and nods his head to Nalia in regards to the shield.
He then begins to look further down the dungeon.
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
And apparently needs glasses lol!

![]() |

perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
I'll look ahead as well and then move up to the new section of map just opened up.
Bobie, you want the shield? I'll take it if you don't but don't want to hog all the loot. Now let's see what we can see in this dungeon. Sure glad yonder skeleton didn't attack us in that pit like the last room of bones did.

![]() |

I think I would be safer with you having the shield, Nalia. And Pogo my friend, I don't know if I have enough experience yet controlling the undead to have more than one I think I can only have 1 per level

Poppo Hedgehopper |

Poppo moves up with Ib and Nalia looking down into the area below.
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22

Benjen Harris |

Poppo as you look down their you notice several holes in the wall, and even notice occasionally poking their heads out are some rats.

![]() |

Are the rats south of us? In the next room? Anyone want to use the bow to try and knock one off from a distance?

![]() |

So, remind me, why exactly are we going this way? And those are rats. RATS. I think we should go back outside and make our way another direction without rats. I mean those are almost rodents of unusual size. Seems risky to me.

Poppo Hedgehopper |

Can we get a map?
Good idea Nalia
Ib why don't you try the bow on one of these rats! I'm sure you'd be the best shot. Poppo encourages.

Benjen Harris |

Let me describe this a bit more, you're a ten 10ft up looking down into room. Besides the bones scattered throughout you notice several small holes around the room. Poppo notices that occasionally popping their heads out of these small holes are some rats.

Benjen Harris |

Ok so I didn't realize that you guys had jumped down, do you still want to do that? I have edited the map so that you guys better understand whats going on.

Poppo Hedgehopper |

Assuming we actually didn't jump down.
Let's lower down Bones, and see what those rats do. Poppo suggests.

![]() |

Good idea, if the rats attack Bones then we can pepper them from above with the bow. At the same time I lower Bones down maybe Ib you can get your study on in case you want to jump down amongst them. Shall I shoot from above or jump down as well. My trusty sword will do better against these rats!
