Assuming a) for now rolling flat chance two rounds to stop bleed.

1d100 ⇒ 80
Nope and nope

Ooh.. Sorry Kish! Really hoping you roll well and the ork dies. I imagine the link will be broken when one of you uhm... dies.

Ok, Emprah, now would be a good time to blow on Krish's dice...

Male Sanctioned Psyker | Wounds: 13/13 | Armor rating: 4 | Fate: 4/4 |

Yup .. here goes something...

EDIT: @GoW: was there no resistance or opposed roll for the orky power in the first place? :(

Nice rolls though! At the cost of 2 FP you got all successes!

Male Sanctioned Psyker | Wounds: 13/13 | Armor rating: 4 | Fate: 4/4 |

It will depend on how many successes the weirdboy gets

@Krish: No, this power is on a per instance basis rather than a simple save-or-die roll. It was actually, originally intended to keep the Boss alive for another round or two, but you kinda pulled fancy-ork's interest by channeling powers and producing phenomena right in front of him x_x
And yes, you did roll pretty good. Plus, the wirdboy is not as strong as he could have been, as its psy rating goes up the more boyz are around him. And I count ... not many boyz around him due to some serious cleansing effort of the squad :-)

@All: good job killing off my surprise guest so quickly. Credits go to Leni (for forcing him to move right into the midst of it to evade certain death) and Simmins (for roflstompish amount of dakka to the back). Also Krish for tanking one of its particularly interesting psychic powers without dying ;-)

Male Sanctioned Psyker | Wounds: 13/13 | Armor rating: 4 | Fate: 4/4 |

@GoW - Fair enough. I was not complaining, just worried. Psykers can be .. dangerous.

I lived, and even stayed conscious....barely.

Huzzah!

Phew... Glad that sort of worked out. Only the actual final boss left.

@Krish: I'll have a thought about that limitation, considering that I lifted a similar constraint for 'normal' medication too. Easiest thing would be once/scene similar to medication. But maybe I'll think of something more ... warpy.
Like an increased chance for shenanigan-rolls if used more than once a day or something like that.

I'd love that. Anything to mitigate the monstrous amount of damage I've taken. If I hadn't invested in defense I'd be dead by now.

Actually I'd be "somehow alive" by now. Because that unburnt fate point up there means that Thud is somehow miraculously evading death at least once. :P

Oh yeah speaking of, a fate point can be used to heal right? Is that 1d5 wounds?

Yes. Plus stopping any ongoing dot (bleed, poison, fire,...)

@Krish: I added a new page to the rulebook section in the onenote "Psychic Power Remarks". The intent is to keep track of changes or erratas we may apply to psychic powers, similar to the skill remark page, doing the same for skills (e.g. Medicae).
Copying my draft here for the sake of discussion.
It is a slight boost to the vanilla function plus a high risk high reward option for using it multiple times within a scene.

GoW wrote:

• Endurance:
○ Modified effect: targets heal a number of wounds equal to half the Psy rating plus one per DoS on the focus power test.
○ Additional effect on targets: Remove any temporary physical effects, including temporary attribute damage and the following conditions; bleed, burn, poison, stunned, unconscious
○ Can be used more than once per 12h, but doing so causes the following changes:
§ Can only be used at push level
§ Each time this power is used within one scene, the focus power test suffers a stacking -10 penalty and every psychic phenomena and perils of the warp roll is increased by 10.
§ If failing the power test, the power manifests with negated effects:
□ 1 DoF: targets loose a half action due to serious pain
□ 2 DoF: targets loose one wound
□ 3 DoF: targets suffer a random condition that would normally be healed by the power (roll a d5)
□ 4 DoF: targets loose a number of sounds equal to the amount they would normally recover.
□ 5+ DoF: as the previous two results

That could make healing... interesting, but if you pull it off in a pinch.
Could you attempt to heal an enemy and intentionally fail?

The power is restricted to 'allies'.
And I don't think intentionally failing is a thing.
Good munchkinism though. 8/10 is my vote ;-)

I once played a Wild Magic mage (gnome spellscar oracle) who would intentionally fail her spellcraft checks to prevent wild magic events. It was fun. :)

Male Sanctioned Psyker | Wounds: 13/13 | Armor rating: 4 | Fate: 4/4 |

that looks pretty 'warpy'. High risk/High reward...

I like it, and I will probably be using it next round....

@Simmins: No aiming full-dakka :-)
But boy, your dice are sun hot right now, aren't they? ^^

Please don't jinx me :(

@Krish: Simmins and Thud'dr took quite some beating. Cormaeg got a scratch. And you of course.

Could Simmins and Cort get into a safe zone in one move action? Either way they're going to try to do that and then Simmins will try and lock down the backdoor.

Got a loooong weekend with a big party (and accompanying preparations).
Working on an update now.

@Leni: There is a couple of stuff that does not work together here
1) Delay is a half action, leaving you with a half action you will usually put into an attack-type action. That eats all your actions for a round. I kinda agree that in such a case (both parties being stationary and all), taking an aim action as part of the delay sounds possible, but let's stick to RAW for now.
2) Called Shots are full actions thus cannot be combined with Delay.

Bottomline: You can prepare to shoot the ork as he is about to fire, leaving the hit loaction to fate alone.
Or, you could make a called shot against the gun as your full round action.
But not both.
Unless you got a feat that allows you to take Called Shots as a half action?

Guardsman / Heavy Gunner Wounds 14/17; WS 30;BS 48;S 42;T 51; Agi 33; Int 26; Per 36;WP 38;Fel 38; Fate 1/2; Insanity 10

Simmins just posted. Leni is in his cone of fire at the back door. Maybe Leni should move instead? :p

Leni Tivnan Medic BS32 WS25 S29 A28 T25 I63 Will32 Fel30 Per26 Hp15/15 Fate2/2+1 Ins0 Cor7 30/30 4spare

Nah, Leni is not heavy on shooty talents right now. I was unaware that a called shot is a full action. I thought they squashed all attack actions which do not involve movement(like charging) into a half action. My bad.

Moving: I thought that Ork is on one of the balconies/stairs - meaning the beam would go over Lenis head? The tactical map has a hard time convering verticality so not sure. If it is close enough to the ground yeah, Leni is getting her backside out of the way instead =3

Yes, you are not in the direct line of shooting.
Unless the Ork f~#$s up of course and is seriously off target...

@Called Shots: yeah, I think that is pretty much the single one that is not reduced to half. Guess it is to prevent combination with aiming in a single round. I'll look into that when time permits. Ive already looked at it and decided to change the penalty depending on the size of the called target (and accompanying talents would just provide a reduction instead of a flat removal of the penalty) to allow things like: "I want to snipe the driver of the trunk through the viewslid!" - which certainly is a lot harder than to hit an Orks chest.
Maybe I'll simply allow a half-aimed variant and increase the difficulty by one step (which would cancel out if combined with aim).

Leni is in SIMMIN's line of fire. He's going to be sitting at the door. :)

Leni Tivnan Medic BS32 WS25 S29 A28 T25 I63 Will32 Fel30 Per26 Hp15/15 Fate2/2+1 Ins0 Cor7 30/30 4spare

Ah. Makes more sense =3
I'm honestly hoping for the orks gun of doom and fizzling crazyness to strike through the door and evaporate all the incomings from there but better safe than sorry =D

So here they are: the Ork trinity of Dakkaness.
- The Pinna: punishes you for being in the open
- The Lazzzzor: punishes you for staying in one place for long
- The Blasta: punishes you for grouping up
***
I hope you all have ... a ... blast ;-)

I have a short (5d) holiday, starting tomorrow.
I'll be reading and be able to answer questions as usual, but long combat posts may or may not happen for that time.

Np. I figured :-)

Okay Simmins and Cort ran into the darkness, how does that work?

Male Brawler WS 47, BS 34, S 41, T 52, Ag 32, Int 30, Per 26, WP 38, Fel 39, Wounds 16/16, FP 2/4

Soooo...I was beginning to concoct a crazy plan here...
This ork Nob, BigBull...is he like a lot of big ork bosses, kitted out in what is essentially half a tank?

WS 24, BS 60, S 32, T 37, Ag 32, Int 40, Per 30, WP 30, Fel 31, Wounds 13/13, FP 1/1 Frags:4 Krak:8 | Las Rifle [Rocket Launcher] | Currently: fine Also Currently a Breacher named Sizzle

Probably. Wanna throw him out the window? Because I do.

Male Brawler WS 47, BS 34, S 41, T 52, Ag 32, Int 30, Per 26, WP 38, Fel 39, Wounds 16/16, FP 2/4

Not quite the plan...mine is more...visceral.

@Simmins: that ist smoke in fact and your goggles should be able to handle it. Of course, I don't thing you had them on mid-day, so I think it is time to spend half an action to put them on.

@Cormaeg: he has 'ard armor, which is basically the Ork equivalent of your own armor - but less polished. And hard-bolted into the Orks skin of course.

@Thud: lol :-)

Guardsman / Heavy Gunner Wounds 14/17; WS 30;BS 48;S 42;T 51; Agi 33; Int 26; Per 36;WP 38;Fel 38; Fate 1/2; Insanity 10

Hrm... so Simmin's aim from inside the smoke would be unaffected thanks to the goggles?

Male Brawler WS 47, BS 34, S 41, T 52, Ag 32, Int 30, Per 26, WP 38, Fel 39, Wounds 16/16, FP 2/4

And 'ard armor is probably quite...metallic?

Both a solid yes

Male Brawler WS 47, BS 34, S 41, T 52, Ag 32, Int 30, Per 26, WP 38, Fel 39, Wounds 16/16, FP 2/4

Oh dear? Metallic you say? So if someone were to say...I dunno...slap a magnetic thing on say...the back of the armor...

You would totally be the first sergeant in the entire guard who ownes an Ork Boss with a magnetically-connected 'hit-me' sign. Or a grip if you were looking for something more practical.
:-)

Male Brawler WS 47, BS 34, S 41, T 52, Ag 32, Int 30, Per 26, WP 38, Fel 39, Wounds 16/16, FP 2/4

Now, my plan does have the downside that unless I could first get Thud to calm down enough to follow an order of "Retreat" or "Get back" or simply "run", it would probably kill him as well...

WS 24, BS 60, S 32, T 37, Ag 32, Int 40, Per 30, WP 30, Fel 31, Wounds 13/13, FP 1/1 Frags:4 Krak:8 | Las Rifle [Rocket Launcher] | Currently: fine Also Currently a Breacher named Sizzle

While frenzy the Ogryns commander can direct the Ogryn via a hard (-10) command test (this can be: Stop attacking, move away/to, change target, etc.). With a very hard (-20) command test the Commander can end the Ogryn ferocity at any time.

I also have an unburned fate point, so go for it! :)
