Does Simmins have line of sight from where he is or will he have to move for that?


For where exactly?
To target the Nobs/Boss you'd have to get up to second level OR move to the 'lower' half of first level (aka where you were before).
LoS works both way :-)

I can't find the posts where Thud got his Evicerator and his Picture Scripture. Can you find those, GoW, or anyone else?

Actually Duty's end IS the name of the Eviscerator.

The melta is now Bolus' personal wargear(trait) and is named "Pete's Sacrifice" (In the middle of this page)

Can't find the post about the Eviscerator right now but I do remember the part about 'Krish had an experience at 'Duty's End' and now Thud has an Eviscerator named Duty's End'

Psi found out the name when working on it. Its' maschine spirit told him. Ah. But I don't think he actually ever told Thud. Because why would a tech priest tell an abhuman such a thing as a name of a holy machine spirit?

It's Columbus day/Native (Indigenous) Inhabitants day here depending on where you live and how much you like Columbus. Only the government and some banks observe it as a holiday though.

I have a bunch of status conditions questions in gameplay! I think Simmins might have been able to hit if is allowed to aim at both Nob and boss with one Stubber setup.


As for the gas, if you manage to save, you are safe.
At least for a while. Should you stay in there for a prolonged time, I'd eventually ask for another test. Maybe every five rounds or something along that line. On the other hand, the gas will slowly dissipate, so that is that.

You saved.
Thus you have your full action economoy ready.
Thus you should be able to pull off the setup as well as the shooting.
Ranged penalties are not an issue for your weapon on this battleground. Pretty much everywhere is short range from here for you.

Point-Blank: ummm, let's say yes. Pretty damn close at any rate, so let's go with pb.

Unseen: ummm, I think not. You are attacking from the same direction the two militias are attacking, so I'd expect the Nob to be prepared for attacks from that direction.

Large is +10.

All in all, I think we will check in with 2 DoS on that roll.
Pretty darn good for a nat 80 I'd say.

Oh, ummm, did you figure in the Shooting into melee penalty (-20)?
Somehow I thought you had the respective talent (Target Selection) but looking over your sheet, you don't seem to after all.

I'd allow you to change target for the boss though.

Or we can go along with the optional rules "Stray Shots", aka you can opt to forgoe the penalty and instead be forces to allocate multiple hits on different targets of the melee.
What is a little friendly fire if you can take down an Ork Nob, right?
Also: there is no such thing as friendly fire.

Will resolve accordingly. I doubt that I'd need more damage rolls than you gave me though ;-)


@Thud: Never ripped a stale tortilla apart, but the image is well painted nevertheless o.o
As a side note, I don't think the extra DoS from Un. strength do apply to combat. They only give boni on opposed tests, e.g. if you were to grapple with a for or during arm wrestling (if ever someone gets the idea to try that against an Ogryn *ROFL*)

Unnat xX giving X-1 successes was in the old system where you stopped at x2 most of the time.
That extra rule about opposed rolls was because back then the DoS/F would have applied after the opposed check. And str 30 rolling a 10 suceeding against str 40 unnat x3 roll 30 would be stupid if the one without unnat won

BUT melee combat is rolled against WS. So no bonus from unnat str?

On the other hand, the score is already added in 1:1 on damage, so that's that.

Does fatigue apply to damage rolls too? or just to the tests?

Toughness plus armor will soak 9 damage leaving 11, Simmins has 4 wounds left. Don't know what the rules are for going below 0. What are fate point use options?

Did we all get a fate point from Thuds kill?

You can use a fate point to heal 1d5 or re-roll anything, or make an enemy re-roll, I think.
If you go below 0 you look at how far below you went and look up what happens to you on the crit tables. Each damage type and body part has a different effect.
At least that's what I did. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Let's just go with explosion effect on body for this.
4-11=-7 (ouch, that is one short of death)
The table for -7, X reads:
"Blood loss, knocked prone, stunned 1d10 rounds, Toughness (+0) test or fall unconscious"

@FPs:
You can immediately heal d5 wounds (I'll allow this option to be used as a damage softener as well, so instead of actual healing, you will reduce the damage taken from a hit by a d5).
You can get a +10 on a roll (post result).
Reroll or force an enemy to reroll.
You can save someone else's bacon if you are aware of the danger and are able to aid.
Those "spend" an FP which can be regained later.
Then there is fate point burning, which fully removes the FP, but lets you hop off death once.

@Thud and generated FPs:
Once he kills an elite enemy or above, he generates 1 FP that can be assigned to anyone in the squad. He has been immediately using them up to heal himself as of now. If he were not doing that, he would probable be deep down the critical already or maybe even dead.

I would be very nearly dead. I've healed 10 hp so far from fate points.

You know, I still think we can swing this and win, though it won't be by the 25th like I had hoped, it would have meant this mission lasted exactly one year and a month.

I think what I look forward to most is letting someone else lead for a bit.
It's hardly the first time I've played the leader in a group, but the difference is that since this is a military thing, people are actually obliged to listen to me, and I got a lot more responsibility to make good decisions.
It's actually pretty damn exhausting.

Please keep in mind that while IC, there is a clear leader, that DOES NOT mean the respective player has to shoulder everything alone.
Please, please use the OOC to discuss tactics to your heart's content then have the current commander "Command" everyone according to the outcome of that discussion.
