Seriously though, this pace is nothing short of blistering for a PbP. Well done, everyone!

@Cormaeg: very cool. Did it work out for you?

@All: wife has claimed me for an anno 1404 marathon session followed by television time - soyour GM is temporarily not available for furthering the glorious first victory of the Serenus 1st ;-)

For a few years I had some success with a series of novels in my native Sweden, then I hit sort of a wall and had to move on to greener pastures.
It might be possible that I try it again once I retire and have more time.

What kind of genre were you writing?

Male Brawler WS 47, BS 34, S 41, T 52, Ag 32, Int 30, Per 26, WP 38, Fel 39, Wounds 16/16, FP 2/4

My most successful one were a series of crime/thriller dramas set in a dieselpunk setting.
The protagonist was inspired by the BOOK James Bond, with the change that instead of an alcoholic, he was dependent on a mood stabilizing chemical to keep an overactive conscience in check.

Awesome.
So the original Bond with a healthy splash of the original Sherlock Holmes?
He was a big ol' junky as well with much of the same ... reasoning.

Also... what is it with Scandinavians and thriller/crime books?
I read a lot of those and they were nearly always very good and very ... harsh - on an psychological sense.

Male Brawler WS 47, BS 34, S 41, T 52, Ag 32, Int 30, Per 26, WP 38, Fel 39, Wounds 16/16, FP 2/4

In a sense, I was kind of proud of that one to be honest.
Much more so than the fact that I once wrote a trilogy of...ugh..."bodice rippers".

As for Scandinavia, I mostly blame the darkness, it gets into the soul, haha.
One of my favorite things to do a few years back was to show some friends from the US and England what passes for comedy up here.
They were horrified hehe.

And we do tend to like crimes and such that assaults the mind more than the body in our works.

Fun Fact time:
Me: (During writing up the arrival of the marines) "Uhh, what was the color of the helmet they found earlier... It should be the same because REDACTED. Mhhhhh.... Mhhhhh... I really can't remember. Guess I have to look it up using paizo's less-than optimal search, unless ..."
*Pling*: An alternative story idea popped up, which does not require you to search and look up that tiny fact a dozen pages back. Do you want to accept it?
Me: *Boyah, do it!*
Players immediate question: "What was the color of that helmet we found again?"
Me: "Welp, here we go searching for the original colour..."

Male Sanctioned Psyker | Wounds: 13/13 | Armor rating: 4 | Fate: 4/4 |

Players, man. They are the bestworst....

Right?!
How am I supposed to be a lazy-ass GM, with players like you?
Jumping on any hint I leave behind, coming up with amazing RP, actually interacting with and even taking an interest in my NPCs and whatnot?
Wow...
***
Suffice to say, that I am very, very happy with that :-)

I really hope that hand comes back out again because I'd hate to rob Sarge of that...

You can't prove I did that on purpose! *whistle innocently*
I resent the implications that I might be a ROLE player rather than a ROLL player, heh.

I like how we're setting watches even when we have a Marine scout on overwatch.
The forms must be observed!

Male Brawler WS 47, BS 34, S 41, T 52, Ag 32, Int 30, Per 26, WP 38, Fel 39, Wounds 16/16, FP 2/4

Just to be clear, I though I'd explain how I see the plan working.
First we disorient and terrify them with grenades, then Thud and Cormaeg charges to the center.
Not only will it mean there is a threshing of the "wheat" by a pair of chainswords, but it also serves as a living roadblock for the enemy, forcing them either into our swords or around us.

Because the way forward is cleaved in two, it creates two smaller and easier to manage killzones for the ones left behind.

Should the enemy survive threshing death and a storm of las bolts, they will be impeded by the makeshift fortifications, giving Krish time to react by knocking their blocks off.

Simple, but not TOO bad for an spur-of-the-moment plan I feel.

Great!
That should be enough to have two scenes in one.
The initial onslaught of grenades, then the second where you charge into the fray.

Let it be. And may the Emprah Protek!

Wall-o-text has to wait until tomorrow though.
Sleepy time for me.
Three days of bad sleeps in a row is getting old...

I think I'm going to wait and see what Sarge orders. Otherwise Thudd'll just stay there and cleave away and that's not very exciting. It does feel like were fixing to get surrounded though so maybe a couple steps back for us melee guys would be a good idea?

Mhh, heavy automatic shotgun at close range ...
THAT scene from Expendables 1 anyone?

Now I have to figure out how to spend 1000xp on thud. Probably more offence? maybe some more skills?
Well, lets see what Bonehead does first.

The Bone'ead gets a Shock Maul. Would that be roughly equivalent to my Evicerator? Because that option replaces my Ripper with a Bolter. And that makes me very excited for the future.

I'd suggest at least taking the Double Team talent, I'd suggest the same for Krish, incidentally.

Ha! Cerebral implants give me Unnatural Int. 2 and a +20 on Logic and Lore tests!
I now have 2 stats with Unnatural bonuses!

That sounds cool. If you take it I'll probably do the same. We'll have to RP that training.

Male Sanctioned Psyker | Wounds: 13/13 | Armor rating: 4 | Fate: 4/4 |

I am planning to take that on Krish, but I have to figure out some psy increases first...

Double Team might have to wait a minute...

New guy Sizzle Knows commerce. Meaning I don't have to roll at a -20 to maybe get a couple things that go boom.

Gave Thud Team up, Blademaster (reroll 1 melee attack/round), and Whirlwind of death (make 1 attack per enemy in reach)

Personal Rewards are online!

At the moment I have three characters, with very different views on promotions.
Cormaeg is ruthlessly ambitious to climb the ranks, but ultimately he wants power to use it for the good of his soldiers, which means he wouldn't want a rank taking him out of the field.
So Major is really the highest he'd go, anything beyond that he'd turn down, UNLESS he was given overall command of the regiment at the same time.

Asbjörn is a completely and unabashed glory hound, for him, a promotion means he gets a chance to get a bigger piece of the glory pie, but he doesn't really care beyond that.
The limit to his ambition as such is really Lieutenant, anything beyond that would be boring for him.

Liam, he is apathetic towards rank all in all. He only care about being the best at what he does, to master skills.
As such, he'd take ranks if offered, but not really care.
He'd MIGHT go as high as captain, but he'd not care to seek out any promotion above Sergeant.

Speaking of rank, as Asbjörn is up next, did the Lieutenant manage to keep his promise and get him a rank up to Corporal maybe?

I'll look into Asbjörn as time permits and let you know - but most likely yes.

Woho!

By the way, whatever happened to the three PDF's that we had with us from the beginning?
Did they die or...?

Leni Tivnan Medic BS32 WS25 S29 A28 T25 I63 Will32 Fel30 Per26 Hp15/15 Fate2/2+1 Ins0 Cor7 30/30 4spare

I think you mean the father and child + random person from the start? I believe they stayed with civilians and are now probably burried under that rubble that once was a hive.

No, I meant Yuri and Maggy and the third one.

Ummmmm...

Last mention I find of them is before the big fight in the archives.
I guess they pulled off a fade to black just like Ashora did?
Ups.
I REALLY have to stop 'loosing' NPCs like that...

Seen to it sir!
Err...I mean, I haven't seen them either sir!

By the way, I would guess that getting to Bigbulls corpse is an exercise in futility?
Cormaeg would have wanted a tusk as a trophy. Not to mention the chain axe...

bon'head: 2d10 + 10 ⇒ (10, 10) + 10 = 30 = Critical surgery success!
Learning to read in months: 2d5 - 3 ⇒ (2, 3) - 3 = 2

So, is there anything special for rolling double 10's on your implant? ;)

Yes, due to the critical success, the whole thing overloads, and the sudden surge of energy has to go somewhere.
So it will explode either your eyeballs, your...erm balls, or if you can push it fully down, your big toes.

Implant boons: +20 Logic, Navigate, and 4 random Lore categories (I'm assuming this doesn't include Forbidden Lore and Sholastic Lore, though if I did... I'll roll twice and see)
common Lore only: 4d15 ⇒ (13, 2, 15, 3) = 33
-Adeptus Astra Telepathica
-Adeptus Mechanicus
-Tech
-War

all lores: 4d44 ⇒ (19, 1, 12, 44) = 76
-1: Common: Adeptus Arbities
-12: Common: Krornus Expanse (hopefully that's where we are...)
-19: Forbidden: Archeotech
-44: Schol: Tactica Imperialis

Which would you like, GW?
