well there is the small possibilty we survive.
Can we get someone to hang out underneath the boat ready to hand out healing potions (that we try to purchase from Grok?) Tap has four air bladders that might keep us sustained.
Tap's monkey familiar never found him. It woukd be awesome if he finds him under the boat with a healing potion ready. ;)
Hehe...now that'd be a sight. There may be hope yet, though - the story itself may provide salvation. Update coming in the morning.
Just to clarify - I'd hate to have a total party kill, but if there's no other resolution, then we'd kill you off and find a way to write in new characters. I hope no one is offended or put off by their character's possible death, but if there's no chance of it, then that sort of takes away the fun.
Not offended at all...we all had better options, I think. There's no point playing without an element of risk. I don't suppose keelhauling cures disease, perchance? Kerruk's still waiting for a dose of Filth Fever.
Not offended. and now we know something about the captain...and about Jack the Ball Ripper
Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 5
Upset that several crew involved in an insurrection and other disorderly conduct might be punished? No.
Well, I do sort of feel like Jack's kill and mutilation of Scourge was undone arbitrarily. I understand that Scourge is an important NPC in the campaign, and that Jack's choice to engage in lethal combat with him was premature and inconvenient (though from my view entirely in keeping with Jack's character)... but the combat was decisive and bloody. Jack killed Scourge. Indeed, he fought off four other combatants to kill Scourge.
If Jack is lucky enough to survive this thing, everytime Scourge opens his mouth, Jack is going to say, "Art thou a ghost? I killed thee ball-less one."
It was actually quite the performance. Later, when we get into the rules for infamy, such a thing would help you immensely.

I sure hope I didn't end up on a doomed ship!
Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 5
Hmmm. Well, everything was going all right until this big fellow showed up. Must be his fault. He's a witch! Throw him overboard, and quick!
(;
Just to be clear, I'm giving you guys some time to think, prepare, talk to anyone, and for Belliott to grab a weapon. If you're all ready, they we can move on.
speaking of familiars, I wonder if my monkey might meet with me soon?
:)
Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 5
ready to move on, and swim with the sharks.
Dangit...yes, had your GM not forgotten him. I expect he'll be on yonder ship
sorry for outing the plan.
btw, is the current encounter governed by the rules in the Shackles players guide?
No, we won't be using that till you have a ship of your own
Attacking the main deck or sterncastle?
Male Human (Garundi) Shaman 2 Rogue 2
That really couldn't have worked out any worse for you...
Need Belliot's action to close out the round, but feel free to post actions into the next.
Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 5
Does that mean Tap is dead?
Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 5
Is it worthwhile to drag Tap to safety?

If Kerruk revived me, do I get an action this turn?
In anycase Tap will stay in the prone position for +4 to AC against ranged.

I just posted my character sheet info in case anyone is curious. Feel free to let me know if something seems off and I'll be happy to fix it!
Tap had 18 hp but took 22 dmg. does that mean he is at -4 or zero? After Kerruk heals him for 2 hp, does Tap then have -2 hp or 2 hp?

Dying (Negative Hit Points)
If your hit point total is negative, but not equal to or greater than your Constitution score, you're dying.
A dying character immediately falls unconscious and can take no actions.
A dying character loses 1 hit point every round. This continues until the character dies or becomes stable.
I have one more CLW potion I can apply next round...hopefully Sandara will turn up and help finish the job.
Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 5
Good, if we can get Tap stabilized, Tap can be moved or crawl to somewhere safe.
I guess I'll make another attack. They'll be sending more missiles our way soon enough. Maybe I'll be luckier this time round.
if you lay down prone you gain a +4 ACbonus but have a -4 to hit with your crossbow. if i regain consciousness i can do a clw spell
Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 5
the rolls are... unlucky.
hopefully that 2nd does of potion will wake you up! Am assuming that Nayr has gotten caught up so we might not know for a while.
Sorry guys, hell of a time to dissappear. Impromptu business trip and bad planning on my part. At my destination now, so I'll have us updated over the next 12 - 24 hrs.
You're at -4 and will continue to lose 1 HP per round. Though, I haven't checked the game thread yet, so you may have already fixed that. If Kerruk heals you back to positive ahead of your init, you can take 1 std or move action.
Gotta be kidding me...think the dice roller is broke. Get ready, this may suck
Maybe the sharpshooters over there will run out of bolts...eventually...
Sorry...Kerruk, Sandara is indeed close. She stands with Rosie not 15 feet away, her crossbow firing as well
Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 5
Are their crossbowmen not shooting at 50% disadvantage, as well?
may i suggest that everyone goes prone and gain the +4 bonus to AC/-4 penalty to hit.
What was this roll for:
return fire 1-40: 1d40 ⇒ 26
Alas no...the fog is over their ship, not yours. Though it is spreading.
That roll was a 40 percent chance that they return your fire. Had it been over 40, you wouldnt have been attacked at all
You've just been getting royally screwed by the dice
GM Nayr wrote: You've just been getting royally screwed by the dice not to knitpick :)
but how do you score higher than 40 on a 1d40?
Lol, whoops...thats what I get for posting after a night out. Let me reroll, the damage may be nullified.
Damage nullified, Tap, Jack, and Belliott can all still act this round
M Human Barbarian/4
I just requested access to the map. Belliott is excited to invade the ship
GM Nayr: It might make sense to set up a folder on your google drive that you share to the group. That way any image you put there would inherit permission for us to view a new resource.
Thanks Sub, hadn't even thought of that. I'm fairly quick granting access, but it is a pain
Kerruk, that's a success - AC is 5
So, the map seems to indicate that I can either try to grapple to get to the forecastle directly, or just walk the plank across to the other ship; is that correct? I was confused.
Yaargh! Chaos indeed. What a time to roll a 1.
