Intimidation would seem to be the best approach.

Yup, and a good roll. The problem is that he may see his chance of survival as low, seeing as you're pirates. I'll apply a modifier and see where it ends up.

Tap did it for the man's own good. :) and figured Belliott might have scared the crap out of him

Intimidation during combat could create the shaken condition I think too.

Too true! Did you want to do that instead? The roll is high enough

sure. Lets do that.

im experiencing the downside of crossbows..this whole reloading thing.

How many rounds have you been in rage, Belliott? Just thinking about the two or three in the first fight, two or three in this fight (surprise round count?), and whatever was in between (assuming you didn't unrage in fight or I guess you recovered from the 2-3 rounds of rage fatigue in that time?

Seems a lot to keep track of :)

M Human Barbarian/4

good call, with fatigue I can't have left rage, so I've stayed in it. 3 from the 1st fight and then 4 so far from this one (counting the surprise round as well as the perception check). 7 total. I can do 9 daily, and since the fatigue will make it impossible to re-enter looks like I'm gonna ride it out for the two remaining rounds.

Thanks for keeping track guys; I tend to get lax in that area and appreciate the honesty

else we rage and sing the whole game!

Sorry all, got my butt kicked with flu and work, be back to normal this week, but may not be till Weds or Thurs

Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 5

Get better!

Hope you feel better soon. Working while sick is the worst.

M Human Barbarian/4

Get better soon! I was knocked out by a cold a couple of weeks ago and it was torture to get work done.

yup, take it easy, Nayr...fluey coldy bugs are the worst at work

Back to normal, I think. Thanks for your patience!

Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 5

Kerruk, you think you can charm the officer?

I could try, but to be honest, I'd rather kill her: not out of bloodthirstiness, but to spare her from Harrigan et. al.

We are pretty much dirty rotten murderers now. But there did not appear to be an ethical escape to the dilemma, escape to turn on our captors and die.

Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 5

I guess she wouldn't have thanked us later.

Hehe...such is the pirate's life, I imagine

sleep is a good spell...at least early on.

Definitely!

Sorry for posting for you Kerruk...this guy was going overboard one way or another though...his morale was gone.

Male Human (Garundi) Shaman 2 Rogue 2

All good. Sorry folks I've been busy finishing the RM module, so haven't been posting much.

congrats!

Male Human (Garundi) Shaman 2 Rogue 2

Still got a ways to go...have finished the actual module, now just tedious data entry, NPC/Creature stats

NP at all

Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 5

okay, char leveld up

will level up tomorrow. At work (nightshift YAWN)

M Human Barbarian/4

I'll level up tonight or tomorrow morning

Kerruk is taking a bit of dip in Rogue (Pirate archetype, of course) to reflect his recent life-changing experiences (and plug a few holes in his range of abilities).

level 3 Hit Dice: 1d8 ⇒ 3

MrApollinax, I admire your rp.

All done! Introducing Kerruk 2.0: a somewhat harder-nosed version of his earlier self, now with sneak attack, the ability to climb and swim, and the ability to hit better with bare hands...building towards the Hex Strike feat (when hitting someone with unarmed strike, he can Hex them too!)

Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 5

I like how you've incorporated events in this game into your profile. well done!

Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 5

So how should we divide our loot?

Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 5

Here is my proposed split. Basically, the amulet is a pretty sweet piece of loot, so I'm willing to forgo all but a token amount of the gp. I want CMW. Belliot should get invisibility potion, because I like the idea of him trying to knock the captain into the sea by bull rushing him invisibly.

I have no problems with that division of spoils.

Sounds fine to me.
But note that invisibility disappears after a single direct attack. Belliott should hold the potion, fine, but we have to acknowledge that the potion is a significant bonus to stealth (+40 motionless, +20 while moving), and could allow us to get somewhere we could not normally access..e.g. the captain's quarters

...although we should also consider that we'd be suspects, given that the identity of the potion was probably known before giving it to us. This could easily be a test of Jack's loyalty.

that never occurred to me, but seems very possible.

yeah..but probably not written in the script.

This is my first AP. How clever/subtle do these things get?

Don't know...this is my first time playing PF so its all new to me. it's certainly the sort of thing I might do as a GM :-D

They really don't get that involved, they would leave something like that up to me. The newer AP's start to get more clever, but I'm not sure if it helps or hinders the GM

So Tap buys the alchemists fire, goes below and busts open the barrels of oil. Throws the alchemical fires all around. He and his friends then jump ship and man the other vessel..and sail off to paradise. The End.

Now that would be a fun twist for me to pick up the pieces from! Hate to say, but it'd be fun to try and modify the story to match

I'm gonna resist doing that to you I think...

I dont suppose a composite shortbow might be available in halfling size?

Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 5

Anyone here can do identify?

Yup, that's fine. I'm generally fine with bending the rules on mundane items, rather than waste story time working through the details. Just please remember to pay 'ol Grok.

Let me know when everyone's ready and we'll move on.

Now I know GM Nayr is not a stickler, but since Tap is an archer I am finally getting around to understanding the ranged combat rules...and of course Ive been doing it wrong sometimes.

First I had been adding my str bonus to damage rolls with the crossbow. Oops.
Second, I never considered cover penalties on attack rolls when the target had cover (from other meelee combatants, for example).

I'll try to get it right going forward.

Also, Tap purchased a replacement CLW for Kerruk

Thanks, I have been adjusting it on my end when I see it, but I doubt I caught them all.
