While I understand Lockjaws character concept, and everything, you are not being fair to the other players as their characters aren't built for mad, chaotic raging combat. While I'm not the DM is there anyway you could temper his headlong rush a bit. In any RPG you must learn to play well with others :-).

Please do not use other players unless you know all players have a problem with it until than use some. I am fine with it, he is playing his character. Vestilet was going to do pretty much the same thing but not running.

You are correct. I should not have said anything. I should worry about my character only, therefore I shall respectfully withdraw from this game, as I won't enjoy it otherwise. Have fun in the Realms guys :-)
BTW. I care about the long term success of the game is the only reason I spoke up. I've been in too many, and seen too many that broke up early because the party couldn't learn to work together and use all their resources, so leaving might be the best option. Nothing personal.

I said nothing about any of that, just said do not use the whole unless you knew the whole had a problem.

How old are you? Would me inserting the word "some" before other players have really made you have a different reaction. You are just being an a~% h*@+, and I'm now really glad I'm out of the game. I didn't have a problem with Balodek, and was only making a "friendly" suggestion. I do have a problem with you.

I think withdrawing from the game is a little extreme. You have raised a perfectly valid concern. My actions were in character with Lockjaw, but I have every intention of having his character develop to the point where he doesn't rush into situations without thinking.
I understand exactly where you're coming from and I have plans to have Lockjaw mature. You have to understand that he's in a bad position right now because he's been hired to protect the prisoner that you're all talking about springing from her prison. Please don't leave the game, your concerns are valid but misplaced. I am in lots of PbP, run many games, and play in others. I fully understand teamwork and Lockjaw may be antisocial but as soon as he learns he's part of a team he will calm down for the sake of party cohesion.

Matthew Winn going to call you Matthew to save on time here. First I was raised/taught to not use everyone or the whole unless you knew for a fact the whole or everyone felt the same. This was mostly from a English Professor. I have no issue with the concern that was bought up or said.
All I had issue with is the whole. I stated this and only this.
Now I get this for stating how I saw things. I do have an issue with my age being asked and being called an a$$h$%$e for no reason.

I apologize for the personal attack. It was selfish and immature. Having a rough day, but shouldn't take it out on you. Having said that, you chose to interpret the statement, as an implied, "whole party". I never said whole, and meant it as a friendly suggestion/ inquiry, which was explaind and would have been resolved.

I just want to point out again that I totally understand where Scranford is coming from with his concerns. I have a very strong reason for Lockjaw to be acting the way he is right now, and his characterization will be taking a turn towards party cooperation once he gets a chance to reveal it, which I anticipate will be soon now. Right now he's a death-seeking barbarian, but that's going to change because, as was rightfully pointed out, that's not going to be fun for everybody.

Yikes! I should have been watching the game closer this morning, my apologies to everyone.
@ scranford - please don't leave, I think everyone can appreciate what you said once they step back and consider it. Having said that, Balodek has crafted a character which is designed to mature as the game progresses; when I was choosing characters, Lockjaw's ability to work with the others was the one thing that concerned me, as well, but once Balodek explained his vision I really felt it would be a good fit. Saving an impulsive character can be a team building exercise, too :-)
I know that sometimes, on the internet especially, it can be hard to interpret what someone's intentions are. Heck, I've certainly had thin skin my share of times (see my response to scranford's quite reasonable concerns earlier in the thread) but I think it's in our best interests to clarify before jumping in and taking offense at slights, real or imagined. I'm going to follow that advice myself, too! :-)

I can see Scranford point, as a mage Alendrethala is maybe the PC that will suffer the most if the tank impulsively rushes into everything shouting out loud.
And i've always played with a RL friend of mine with such tendencies ( and infact he has been the reason of the many TPK i suffered ) but Balodeck has just started developing Lockjaw, to me anyone can play their PCs anyway they want,as long as they play to create a fun game, not to ruin the game of the other players.
I hope Scranford isn't really going to quit.

My friends,
First, let me express my profound apologies for letting this game die and for leaving you all in the dark for so long. I had high hopes for the game and its longevity; and despite my missteps, I felt I was doing my best to entertain everyone involved. Despite what has transpired in my life, I acknowledge that orphaning this game was entirely my fault and that I should have handled things better. You all deserved better. But I would like to explain what happened.
My wife, my best friend, passed away in late january due to a ruptured brain aneurysm. She had been complaining of headaches for some time, and had been prone to migraines in particular. She was unwell during the christmas season, complaining of headaches, nausea, dizziness and such. Neither of us took it seriously enough. I woke up in the middle of the night on december 28th and found I was alone in bed. I got up to find out what Katherine was up to; she would often stay up later than I would, watching TV or whatever. I found her on the couch; I figured she was sleeping. But she was pale, her breathing shallow, and she wasn't responding to anything I did to try and wake her. I never got to speak to her again. She spent almost a month on life support machines before the end. I won't go into what that time was like; suffice to say, it was the hardest time of my life.
After Katherine passed away, I lost my ability to cope with life. I couldn't work, I barely went out except to get food. I ended up losing my job; a great job as a security consultant for a major bank. I lost touch with friends and family. Things that used to give me pleasure didn't matter any more. I had to sell the house we had waited so long for, I couldn't live there any longer and I needed the money. I finally reached out for help from veterans' affairs in late may, and things have started to level out.
I know this is really heavy stuff, and I hate to lay it on you guys. It's still no excuse for just abandoning you; I wish I had at least taken a few moments to let you know what was going on, maybe pass the game to someone else. I just wanted you to know what had happened that caused me to disappear like that.
Apologies again.
Graham

I know I sent a private response, but I just wanted to reiterate that no apologies are necessary. The very thought of something like that makes me tremble a little.
I just sent my wife a text insisting that we do something together tonight. Thank you for reminding me how important it is to not forget what we have when we have it.

I'm getting to this late as I just got back from PaizoCon, just wanted to let you know I'm really sorry this happened to you. You shouldn't feel bad about leaving us like that, everything that happened was far more important to get through.
