Playing in 20+ games and running 26 (soon to be 27) is time consuming. Outside of the boards I have a fairly busy work schedule and of course a life!
Often I find that if I fall behind in updates, I need to make time to simply update a Discussion Thread to inform the PCs of a particular game that I am either going to be posting later in the day or week or will be on a break form the boards for one reason or another.
To save time updating so many damn threads I am going to open this thread and link all of my DM aliases (and PC aliases) to this thread to inform people as to status.
Of course if people feel the need to ask other questions outside of PbP feel free to do so but mainly this will be a thread dedicated to ensuring that my PCs know my status and to assure everyone that even though I may have some absences away from the boards (or particular games) that new thread will always be up to date with my status.

Well, first things first, I want to call the magister when he finally get to the fight. He seems like a jerk, and I mostly just want to kill him myself.
Also, I guess it's a good thing Morana has a higher Bluff than she does Sleight of Hand?

Who knew the part of the plan involving cooking with an old lady would be the scene to have us all on the edge of our seats.

Right? This stuff is even better than Cooking Mama.

I am far to tired to come up with a good lie. So I will post after some sleep. Any suggestions are welcome as well.

Well, if this doesn't work, you guys COULD just kill her. We are evil, after all.

Grumble Jack |

I was under the impression we were using a whole bunch of Waters of Maddening, combined with a potion of Delay Poison to hold off the effects until everyone had finished eating.
What was being added that was in a small vial? The potion?

Morana Soto |

That was why I did not post last night. I laughed when I saw the post then I though we could just kill her. I mean I have a wizard with me she can look like the old woman or I can say she is sick and I am covering for her. My other sleepy thought was to say I put a cure potion in it. But mostly I just laughed because the dice roller does not like in this game. Fickle creature, almost as mean as real dice.
Also this is a nice woman and it would be far more devastating to see what her soup did to those pour soldiers :D

Soren Marsailles |

I believe that is what was being poured in, yes.
If you have to kill her, we do have the ability to disguise ourselves, as you said. It may actually be merciful at this point, since she'd be so horrified, I think. Oh well! Such are the casualties of war.

I try to bring high quality tension to all scenes :-)

I think Lothryin, Grumble, Soren, Morana, and Alice can link up now back in Aldencross to plan breaking into the Tower to steal the body.
So close to all being together once more! :-)

Grumble Jack |

I don't know why we're planning on stealing it. I was just going to have Grumble eat it.
He might not be able to eat is all, but I bet he could eat enough.

Ah that's what you meant! Ill put up a post to that effect.

Soren Marsailles |

Or, we could just have one of us cast Speak With Dead. that would shut down all other attempts for a week.
I don't think any of us can actually cast it. It's on our spell lists, but I don't think most of us can cast that high of a spell level. I think Morana can, but she doesn't have it as a known spell. So, you should probably just eat it.

Grumblejack is the unanimous favorite. (He's been dubbed Evil Shrek)
I honestly felt it was a crime that someone from this game might miss this if they weren't applying to Ruins of Azlant.

Grumble Jack |

Here's those rolls, if you still want them.
Fort: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 27
Fort: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30
Fort: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22 Almost got 'em all. Grr.
If I get a tummy ache from eating some rando, I should just tear up my demon-ogre membership card.

Soren Marsailles |

Ohgoddamnit. I was trying to keep the players in this game from ever knowing about that. >.<
Ah, but you did not account for me! My dastardly plan is a success!

Sorry for the delay there guys, just was unable to get back to this till tonight.
Soon, I'll have the band back together!

Grumble Jack |

They were rolled here in Discussion, that's why. They're like two posts up.
D'oh! Thank you. I totally forgot.
GM, want me to delete the in game ones, or leave them?
edit: guess it doesn't matter. the roll results are the same.

Storyteller Shadow |

ninja'd during me edit. :p
For a fat f$~$er I do move pretty silently :-)

As the remaining scenes were relatively straight forward, I opted to get you all assembled once more to discuss plans now that much of what you sought to do has been set in motion and yet turned on its head!
One item you do not know the resolution of though is what happened between the Captains after Nate and Aurex left them alone.
Remember, the Wizard and the Cleric will be razing the Black Ice Inn the next day - how early is not clear. Mama's delivery to the Tower is also the morning of the next day. Finally, the Lord Commander took out a detachment in the early evening to "search" for Captain Varning. One wonders i the part will stumble upon the Bugbears picking the goods of of the last Ranger Roving... :-)
Game ON!

Hey guys, this is a blanket notice going out to all of my games here on the boards. While I am thankfully outside the path of Hurricane Harvey, current projections for Hurricane Irma are sending it barreling up the coast of Florida to sweep much of the eastern coast of the United States. As I live directly on the ocean, I'm already gearing up for a potential evacuation at the moment. While hopefully all I get is a lot of rainfall, it's likely that by the time Irma hits Maryland it will still be at least a Category 3 storm, if not worse. I will have my laptop and such in the case of an evacuation, but I likely won't be able to post with any real schedule or frequency. Moreover, given that I live more or less directly on the ocean, it's more likely than not that if I'm forced to evacuate there will not be a home for me to come back to after the storm passes. The island is not built to withstand that kind of storm, and the last time something anywhere near that deadly swept through, it made an inlet where there used to be a road. My point being, if I'm hit by the hurricane it's very likely I will be off the boards for a long while, or at least my posting will be sparse and intermittent.
I'm sure I'm not the only one following the storm on the news, but I'll do my best to keep everyone updated on my status. It's likely the storm, if it hits me at all, will make landfall here early next week. If you see on the news that the storm has hit Maryland and you don't hear from me, that's probably why. I just wanted to put this message up now as I'm prone to losing power during storms and I didn't want to leave anyone hanging.
Thanks for understanding,
Jon

Alright, the night has fallen and it looks like a plan is emerging.
The Inn will be approached by the Cleric and the Wizard and likely a contingent of soldiers. Question 1. Do you all still intend to be there when this happens? Leave and head to the Tower? Slay whoever wins that battle and then head to the Tower?
The stew will be delivered in the morning by Mama, likely a bit later than the raid on the Inn if the Mitrans are smart about it and when it comes to stamping out evil they are usually pretty ruthless. Ironic ain't it! Question 2. Does anyone accompany Mama? She DOES have more than 1 bowl this time. OR do you slay her and impersonate her for the delivery?
The two Captains were left to their own devices. However, you do not know their ultimate fate. Question 3. Does anyone head there early to find out? Not Nate or Aurex as they will likely be detained for dereliction of duty.
The Lord Commander mentioned something about going beyond the wall. Question 4. Do you await his return or after the stew has taken effect begin to attack the Tower defenses?
Nate and Aurex are pariahs at best now Most likely). Question 5. Is it time to unleash the Beast? The scroll to return Aurex to his true Draconic form can only be used once but might that be the best way for Nate to get in on the action at the Tower?
Question 6, exactly WHEN do you fire that flare?

the Shining Host |

It's been slow going but we are finally at the end of the first Book!
The battles will take some time but I would say by the end of the year we will finally be on Book II and hopefully for most of you, outside of the "known" portion of the adventure. :-)

Grumble Jack |

1) I like the "slay whoever wins" plan.
2) What do you mean more than one bowl? Didn't we poison the whole stewpot? The idea was that the Delay Poison potions would let the doses stack up as people eat, and hit everyone all at once for heavy effect. I also just came across the Languid Venom spell, which does something very similar. maybe we can use that as a baseline? Or just get it cast on the stewpot?
3) Grumble doesn't really care what happened to the captains. As a player, I want to know, but I'm not going to argue with an ogre about it.
4) Seems like after the stew takes effect would be best.
5) How about we unleash Aurex during the assault on the keep. I bet he could make very short work of those siege weapons we need to destroy.
6) When we take the gatehouse? Or while we are taking it?

the Shining Host |

2) What do you mean more than one bowl? Didn't we poison the whole stewpot?
Sorry meant more than one pot!
Heh, one bowl...

the Shining Host |

So we only poisoned some of the stew? Where did the other pots come from? Can we poison them too?
Morana and Alice poisoned them all! ;-)
The poison is a sleeping draught with a delayed effect at least that's how I remember it! There is enough stew for 1/3rd + of the Castle.

Nope. We replaced the water the stew was made from with Waters of Lamashtu (which is why we had to get it from the Lamashtan priests). It was my impression that the thing they almost got caught adding to the stew was the Delay potions.
One dose is two ounces. I'm not sure how much will be in a bowl of soup, but it should be enough to do some serious damage when the Delay Poison potions wear off.

Alice Duvotour |

1: Alice is fine with killing whomever remains. Its a solid tactic.
2: While its more logical that Morana helps with carrying the stew, alice can help as wel. Its good to have a back up as we dont know how the battle in the inn will go.
3: Alice wanst there when the accusations were made. She's not that interested.
4: After the stew would be the most wise.
5/6: Did anyone ever tell Alice about this option?
