Yup, that good ol' yesterday!
By the end of the campaign I shall be weeping as every Nurse Joy and Officer Jenny gets away...
Why have there not been many Officer Jenny's in the games? They're pretty much everywhere in the show from what I remember.

Soren Marsailles |

I think the only one that was ever in a game at all was Pokemon Yellow, and she gives you the Squirtle in Vermilion City.

![]() |

Yeah. I mean, I've play pretty much every Pokemon game they've made (that was, you know, an actual game and not some puzzle thing), and while there've been cops and police, that one Officer Jenny in Yellow is the only one I can remember seeing.

Morana Soto |

From what I remember of the cartoon that does not seem right. Though considering how many of them there were I always thought she was a weird sort of pokemon. I mean they were everywhere and looked alike.

![]() |

Nah, them and Joy were human as far as I know, though a lot of people once theorized that the Joy's were like a really advanced evolution of Chancey.

Grumble Jack |

I've actually never seen any episode or played any of the various games. My exposure to pokemon is just from general osmosis of nerd culture, and because Pikachu is my go-to character in Smash Bros.

Soren Marsailles |

That's pretty funny; I'm almost the exact opposite. I think I've played every game they've ever released, and I'm the Vice President of my university's Pokemon Club. I do, however, use Pikachu in Smash when I want to make people mad. Normally Ike or Ness is my go-to character, though. My friends fear me so much that just the words "PK THUNDER!" cause them to flinch.

Grumble Jack |

I play Pikachu specifically because he makes people mad. I'm really bad at the game, so anytime I can make my friends yell "GODDAMMIT SHOCK RAT" I can lose and still be happy.

Soren Marsailles |

Ah, see when I play to annoy people I have to go... Sanic fast until they scream and shout about me only using homing attack until I die. I equipped him with all the items to boost his defense, so he's absurdly heavy and still faster than he has any right to be.

the Shining Host |

I am a Magic the Gathering guy so I have zero understanding of the context of the turn of the discussion thread :-)
Let's see if our witch lives or dies shall we? Heads to the I/C thread.

Soren Marsailles |

Oh man, I tried my best to get into Magic a few years ago, but it just wasn't for me. When it came to card games Yugioh was always my game; one of my friends still plays as a national contender in tournaments and I play him every once and a while. The only real "tabletop" hobby I still have is DnD.
Also, because I can't resist which witch is which?
Please, no one ever tell my girlfriend I made that pun. She'd never let me live it down.

Grumble Jack |

MtG is kind of a game of rocket tag these days. Way too many infinite combos, 4th or 5th turn wins, and overpowered two card combos.
The Commander deck building rules did a fairly good job of reigning the power creep back in again, but even that's starting to get out of hand.
I still kind of enjoy Magic, but it really sin't as fun as it used to be.

My friends and I play Vintage so we all have fairly brutal decks (I have a deck with 7 of the Power 9 in it for example) and it is usually a multi player game so 4th and 5th round wins are tough to come by in those circumstances. Though with everyone's schedules we have not played Vintage in a while, we just draft some of the new sets amongst ourselves for fun.

Morana Soto |

I only ever watch the first two seasons of Pokemon and lost interest after that. And MtG was never an interest of mine. For card games I am a big fan of the Munchkins game. If you have not played you should.
I sort of feel bad saying it but my go to was Kirby, Peach, or the guy from Fire Emblem. I loved winning with Peach!
And what matters is that a witch will die. And currently it is looking like it will be me!

I play MtG whenever I'm over at my friend's place. Have a red/black deck built around the Havoc Festival card. For those who don't know, Havoc Festival is a fun card that lowers every players hit points by half, rounded up, on their standby phase. Combine that with Wound Reflection and every time I play, my friends kill me off a.s.a.p.

That is a tough card to build a deck around!
I have 52 decks and one is similar to that concept, Reign of Gore. Converts life increases to life loss and I have a TON of spells in the deck that give my opponents life :-)
Lots of fun to play!

the Shining Host |

Likely most of you did not realize it but Shalewigg took MASSIVE damage fro the Draughr and was at 2 HP for that battle :-)
Lucky, lucky for Morana!

![]() |

@Host: Really wasn't that hard, though since the only ones I play against are those who know my strategy, I get killed off fairly early. Plus, it works best in a multi-player duel as a lot of my monsters are glass cannons and I don't have a lot of defenses.

Hard from the standpoint that the card screws you too! :-)

![]() |

Oh yeah, definitely. I don't even try to counter that. No healing or the like in my deck. It's a very all or nothing deck.

Nathanial Torken |

Oh, I like "Focus strengthens your will" for Nate thematically. It goes well for him trying to control his multiple personalities. Would the bonus apply to him trying to keep sane?

Morana Soto |

I thought I was going to die. I liked the not dying part and Sorens little speech. That was fun to read. Morana might become attached to you Soren.
I think I want to be more sneaky. I work much better if they do not know that I am there. Also there is nothing gear wise on her sheet so I want nothing but her familiar. It can give me spells! These ones = identify, inflict light wounds, sleep, wave shield

the Shining Host |

I guess it could but what's the fun in that?

Lothryin Harad |

Haha, I like the initiative one because I love going first, it's one of my things in pathfinder. I almost never have a character with a low initiative. In my Irl game I am currently playing a swashbuckler with a 21 initiative, it is safe to say I always win.
I know I am late. Myfavorite smash character has always been Kirby, I get one life ahead and the attempt to suicide while they are in my belly. It is a very drastic tactic but when it works it works well. Sadly good players always get back on :(

![]() |

Kirby has always been my main character in Smash Bros. since the very first on the N64.
I'm going with the Deception trait, it really fits with his personality and his build.
I'm in a bit of a dilemma now. I was originally planning on getting Vaundour up to level 3 in unchained rogue (which he now is) so I can deal Dex on damage with finesse weapons before focusing on his alchemy side. But the way I've been playing him so far, I'm thinking about sticking mostly with rogue and maybe gain a few more levels in alchemist for better bomb damage and some more infusions. Any opinions?

Soren Marsailles |

Vandour, I remember looking at your sheet when we were selecting new characters for the game, and I think you might run into the same problem I just had while selecting a trait; trait bonuses don't stack. Soren was going to take the one that boosts Stealth, but since I already have Silent Hunter it would overlap, not stack. Make sure none of your other traits give a boost to Bluff (I think one of them did when I last saw your sheet?) because I literally had the same problem.
I'm torn between Angel Slayer and Focus Strengthens Your Will, personally.

![]() |

Good point. I'm gonna go with the Fear Nothing trait instead. It and Quiet As Death are the only other ones that really fit Vaundour, and he isn't really a sneaky person, preferring to be up front and chattering away.

the Shining Host |

For Hit Points I will give the Players the option of either rolling or taking 1/2 HD +1. If you roll you get what you get that level. Con bonus obviously included under either method.
What this guy said...

Soren Marsailles |

Something about picturing Grumblejack skulking around in the shadows make me want to chuckle. That said, I THINK I will take Angel Slayer as my trait; I think it makes sense that he would make his most fanatical of followers the one whom he's trained to kill angels. Also, I'll be hitting my third Inquisitor level, so time to roll for some HP... I'm a gambling man.
Hit Points: 1d8 ⇒ 8
I'll have my sheet updated soon, but my biggest changes are picking new spells. I'm not sure on the 0th level spell, but my 1st level spell this level will probably be Peacebond, as I can see so many horrible, horrible uses for that spell.

Grumble Jack |

Well someone around here has to be the rogue since our rogue wants to be a bard.

![]() |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

Con-man, not bard, thank you very much. I do not make flutey noises and prance around.
Funny story, though, thought about making Vaundour a bard when first creating him.

Soren Marsailles |

And our bard wants to ride a dragon; we're a messed up bunch of misfits. Vandour, as for going farther into Rogue or Alchemist, I'm not sure which path I'd advise personally. I would love to see some other people in the party who fight at range at least semi-frequently, as Target of Opportunity was probably going to be my next teamwork feat at 6th level. However, I know Nathanial is fairly well-suited for ranged combat as well, so it's up to you. Maybe try and get enough out of alchemist to be a competent switch-hitter kind of build?
Personally, I'd take advantage of the sweet drow only options for the Alchemist, namely the Void/Blackstar Bomb. They aren't amazing at dealing damage (they don't deal splash damage, and they deal d4 in damage and not d6) but the damage is bludgeoning and it knocks creatures prone/drops their speed to five feet, and the upgraded version lets you hit people with gravity waves. Void Bombs requires you to be 6th level, although the GM might allow you to take it lower; if you ask me, there isn't a reason to have that as a prerequisite. Maybe 4th level if you want a level requirement at all, but it'd be better suited to have some other requirement that's more thematic.
Also, GM, my sheet should be all set and correct for the level-up.

Nathanial Torken |

Nate will be heavily focused on ranged dps. Aurex will do strafing runs while Nate rains arrows.

Morana Soto |

Why the hate on Bards?
For my Hit Points I will take the half option since I have a history with rolling poorly for them so that would be 5 HP.
I get two spells and I am a little torn on what I want. Blood Transcription for learning new spells and visually it could be fun, Spectral Hand to give out the touch spells I want later, Aggressive Thundercloud because damage is fun, Hold Person this is an awesome spell, Limp Lash and I have fun feelings with this one cause it let me ride a Dragon.
And is this a level where a feat is achieved?

![]() |

Yeah. Went with Combat Expertise for my feat as I'm planning on getting the Improved Dirty Trick feat. That idea for being a switch-hitter sounds pretty good, next couple of levels might in be Alchemist then. Will probably make rogue my main class, but will have several in alchemist. Besides, alchemist would be good for my fort and will saves.

Soren Marsailles |

Vandour, do you have access to the Dirty Tactics Toolbox? If you're going for Dirty Trick I'd recommend getting it, as it has some really great options for it, and it has a replacement for Combat Expertise called Dirty Fighting. It counts as Combat Expertise, and it has an effect you might actually use at any point for your character. Perhaps the best one you can take requires panache to use, but one or two others might be useful for you as well.

![]() |

Oh yeah, forgot about that book. Yup, definitely getting that feat instead of Combat Expertise. Going through the book now and finding a few things interesting for this campaign.

![]() |

Yeah, only the first level is gestalt, every other level is single class as usual.

Morana Soto |

It is that.
Shinning Host is there time in this campaign for crafting? Specifically wanting to make constructs since I have never had the chance to play with that but the craft constructs needs magical armor and wondrous items which are the good ones to have but I do not want to wast my precious feats if I will not have plenty of crafting time.

Storyteller Shadow |

Think of it like the world's most over powered campaign trait.
LOL.

Yes. This is am immediate 3 month of downtime for training so you can craft now if you wish.
