alright, bad night to have a migraine and not check the forums.

1) I think all of the characters are fine IC. Risbeth maybe got a little too flustered by the Fool's Act and should have known that threatening them would do no good until their act was over, but Fool's annoy everyone. I'm not surprised at all that Tanz and Raul both go for positions of strengths and that Risbeth isn't going to let herself be subdued. And don't be fooled that Tanz is a troll, he's got a high INT.

2) No need to take it out in the discussion section.

3) The problem that is happening is posting order. Tanz gives his speech and Risbeth responds with the further demand to put her down. Raul can take his action there (starts with no more explosions) and Trops can do something but then it is Tanz' turn again. Per an offline conversation with him, he said he will put Risbeth after the "5,4,3" post. This means that almost all of this never happened. I realize Tanz is usually the slowest poster but he keeps a good timeframe and if I needed to I could advance him along; but to make sure this kind of thing doesn't happen you have to let everyone react to a situation.

As such, everything after Raul saying Does that seem like logical thinking to you?" DID NOT HAPPEN. We will resume with Tanz response post.

2) Understood, won't happen again.

3) Will allow more time for reaction posts in the future.

Sounds good GM, thanks for clearing it up. Hope your migraine goes away, I feel your pain on that one right now...

Condolences on the migraine, I use Ketoprofen for mine. Prescription, but only because Orudis KT went off market.

Understood, and sorry. Lots of insomnia lately, makes me fidgity and around to post at all hours of the day and night. :)

Well. That was... interesting. Yeah.

Sorry about being so slow guys, I'm distressingly employed, taking classes, and have several extracurricular activities. I'll see what I can do to increase my posting though.

I personally feel that if you're going to have a random trigger that would result in you being willing to kamikaze the entire party, it should be in your backstory, or at least brought up at some point before such an event as this. I hate meta as much as the next person, but I'll indulge just a little bit if it prevents mass murder.

I support the indulging comment.

Please do not blow up the game. I would really like to actually play at some point.

I don't really care about how angry your character gets. It's a game with different personalities and I get that. I just had a major argument with a party member in another game, but in discussion we were laughing about how stubborn we were both being. But it's counterproductive to character building when you let your character's emotions become your own to the point of bringing the in-game argument out of game. I am not sorry that I upset Risbeth, but I am sorry that I upset mdt. I do wholeheartedly apologize for upsetting you, but if you cannot maintain player/character separation it is bound to happen again with our character's relationship.

It was not the in character things that upset me OOC.

You posted what were, to me, some very judgemental OOC posts, and THOSE upset me, Raul. I don't mind if the characters aren't getting along, but when I OOC try to tell the other player what is going on so that we can attempt to defuse the situation, and the other player not only blows it off, but get's judgemental about me OOC, that does upset me.

Now, it is entirely possible that wasn't what you meant to convey, we all know how text is not a substitute for voice and face. However, I perceived the OOC conversation as turning from friendly to judgemental and condescending. I'm afraid that second one is a bit of a hot button for me.

I think it's all smoothed over now. But I'll point out that the last comment of your previous post is, to me, judgemental and condesending, in that you tell me I can't keep my IC/OOC separate. I had no trouble with that. I was simply Upset OOC about things posted OOC, not the IC things.

On a related note, I'm holding off on posting anything from Risbeth, per GM instructions, until Tanz and Trops can post after the five four three post.

I guess I just don't quite understand what makes you upset. I have regular conversations like this with many of my fellow local and PbP gamers and none of them seem to find it judgmental or condescending. I'll try to be more sensitive in the future.

For reference, the other patrician maker instance has died so Gypsumay, and possibly one other character, will be joining this party. I will give Gypsumay a full IC write-in soon.

Raul and Risveth are all set to react to Trops/Tanz. You're going to hit a plot point in a short moment so you'll want to keep posts to just a direct response or quick action.

So, this is officially dead or what?

HOly... I apologize everyone, I've been monitoring this thing from my Campaign's screen, and it never showed any posts. I finally popped in to post in the discussion thread, and suddenly it showed me dozens of posts in the gameplay as not having been read!

I am guessing everyone one had a similar impression... however, Shadowtail hasn't posted in a while... he might have issues getting the time or something... I though there were some PM issues that were being resolved between you, Raul and Shadowtail (I am glad it was not the case!)

Just checked and he doesn't seem to have posted since monday (not only in this campaign).

I usually don't panic until it's at least 3 weeks. :)

I'm here, just waiting for responses.

Just waiting on Tanz

I would like to head from Raul and gypsumay before continuing.

Players, because of the lagging timelines I am considering shutting down this quest. I am till in the forums frequently but I believe this quest has lost it's luster. I am willing to continue though, and have the time to do so effectively. If this quest were to be deactivated I would give you the plots points and default ending in story form, so you are not left hanging for eternity wanting to know how such a great story ended.

Up to you GM.

I enjoy the character and RP, the players and characters. I do kind of feel lost in the game though, no real good choices, no way of finding anything out, everything is a dead end or another 'do what I say or I kill you' choice. :(

I agree with Risbeth, on all accounts.

Same

I have to say, the game really lost its momentum. So its up to you GM.

Male Troll Magus (Bladebound) 3

I'll keep going if there's a game to keep going in.

I light of that, I'll end this quest now. I think this makes a good point that it's much harder to run a new quest online than in person. Thanks for sticking with it as you did and I apologize that it couldn't keep up the interest

With few other options, the party decides to investigate the thieves guild safe house. Inside you find a standard master and servant contract, though the bottom half where the signatures would have been has been torn off. Beneath the torn paper is an envelope bearing a rare stamp. You travel to the post office to talk to Moist Von Lipwig, hoping he might have an idea of who bought the stamp. Moist claims that only a classless individual would buy that stamp and use it, as it costs more than 2000 times it's original value. Through some hint taking, you infer that it was a Lavish family member who bought it.

On the way out, Stanley stops you and remarks that he had heard that the Guild of Cunning Artificers had used the Mock 821 Rasberry Underside Upsidedown Tower of Artificers, which was supposed to be the tower of art, though still upside, but had only dreamed of seeing it. He offers you a fortune for the stamp, and you give it to him in exchange for some easy made funds. You also ask for information about exactly who used the stamp.

You follow the lad's directions but are shortly stopped by a man in a trench coat and top hat that leaves his face in shadows. The man claims to be from the "Guild of Providing Leads after the trail has gone cold." He informs you that the Golem Trust would be a good place to look. As he is dropping his hint, Sergeant Colon and Corporal Nobbs round a corner. They gasp and shout for the man to stop. He sees them and hurries off. Colon and Nobbs quickly give up on the chase and return to you, asking if he had shown a license to be a Lead Provider. He had not, so you continue to the Guild of Artificer's.

Another man in a shady hat and trench coat approaches, this time clearly showing a Guild of Providing Leads After the Trail Has Gone Cold license. Panting, he apologizes for being late and explains that the Guild of Cunning Artificer's is mixed up in this somehow. Risbeth pulls out her best sarcasm, saying how wonderful is was to have such a hint and oh, where would they be without it. The man catches on quickly and apologizes further, backing away with each word.

The Guild of Cunning Artificer's seem receptive, but it is only after some well placed questions and a threat or two that they show you the real object of interest. Of course, Trops had already found it and was coming to get you guys but either way you end up standing in front of the "gguunnnnnn", so called because it looks like a lot of pieces of gun put together. Wait, are those pieces SEWN together. You turn to ask Igor and Igorina to confirm but Igor is suddenly not standing right there with you.

Raul drops full werewolf and follows Igor's pungent scent, which leads to you to a large room on the back of the Artificer's Guild. There it is revealed that Igor was working for the President of the Guild of Cunning Artificers and he was indeed the killer. (Vimes of course says the he knew it was Igor the whole time but you're pretty sure he's lying. (or are you?))

You have an intense battle against Igor, the President , and several sycophant members before finally winning the day. The fight ends with Tanz, standing over the slumped bloody Igor, with the pain of betrayal in his eyes and the whispers of the jealous Sword in his mind. Tanz does not kill Igor and instead the Igor is carried of by guards of the Patrician and is never heard from again.

The moral of the story: an Igor althwayth hath a masther.

Too bad the momentum was lost, there were quite a bit a funny things coming up.

Thanks for this bit of writing GM Shadowtail I quite enjoyed it (although Gysumay was not in it!).

See you all around on the forums.

Ah man, I forgot the duel!

Following Tanz's heart felt lack of the ability to kill Igor, the President of the Guild of Cunning Artificer's decided to try to be cunning. Knowing he was on the currently losing side, he proposed a duel. You guys quickly accepted and named gunslinger troll Gypsumay as your champion. The president quickly realized his mistake but was bound to the duel already. He did, however, blurt out that "firearms" were the weapon of the duel. As the challenged, Gypsumay should have been able to determine that but, head fan whirling furiously, Gypsumay waved away the protests of the others and approached the man at the center, holding he weapon behind her back. They whirled and turned, counting off the 23 steps that were the standard of any Ankh-Morpork ranged duel. Once again, Gypsumay was careful to keep her weapon on the side of he body opposite the president.

At the count, the president turned more quickly, finder pressing on his trigger. But then he stopped. Gypsumay had turned, sporting her Aaoograha Hoa, a gun so massive even a troll couldn't fire it without falling back on her stone backside. The president, paralyzed with fear couldn't get off a shot. Gypsumay did.

The events next will be talked about for ages by people all around. Well, all around the court house at least. Ankh-Morpork dueling law states that once a participant of a duel hits the ground, the opponent wins. Since Gypsumay's blast knocked the President to the ground, and also herself a split second later, the President's lawyer (not a bear) spent the next several years suing and then appealing the fact that he lost the duel.
