On the north western edge of Al Aimtidad, the anvil desert, sits the jewel of the world, the city of Zhayalammar. It is the ancient city of invention, horror, passion, and sorcery.
Thought I'd wait for Zahra's rolls before posting to see if we can hold onto each other or not... but if we get shuffled around anyway due to answers to those questions will it affect the end result?
Also, had totally forgot those seemingly random questions already. Now I'm eagerly anticipating what all of them will lead to in the end ;^)
So... if tymythy and Zahra both make our initial Ref/Acrobatics, we can hold to each other. If Zahra fails Tymythy can't compensate.
If we both then make our Ref/Acrobatics checks Tymythy will for sure fails his Strength check, but Zahra can still make it at disadvantage for both of us...
Yes. If Tymythy passes his ref/acrobatics and Zahra fails hers then Tymythy must make a second roll to continue to hold on.
If Zahra passes her STR check at disadvantage then she is holding Tymythy when you reach the two tunnels and this may effect the outcome of that fork.
I've only written to where the interchange happens.
Dounia - you don't use acrobatics to climb, oddly enough you use climb (the dangers of mixing game mechanics) for which you have +6. Dounia's peerless talent doesn't extend to climb so you use your first roll of 1. Please make a reflex save DC12 - if you fail you tap your head as you go down for 1d3 nonlethal damage.
Zahra - yes, you drop the heavy 9' long spear and it is sliding around the shoots after you. You can use your one action to grab for it. You made a knowledge roll - if you aren't using your action for the knowledge roll then you will get a little information but I will give you a little more if you are making it your action.
<edit> Zahra - sorry, I see you are retrieving a rope. Retrieving a rope is an action. You won't have time to use it. I will give you a little info for the knowledge roll.

I thought she would have been able to retrieve the spear before the slide but if not then she would probably do that before retrieving the rope because it is dangerous loose

Q's from Dounia:
Is it just a wall on the right side of the map (the nose of the fish-shape)? On the map it looks different from the other walls. Just want to clarify that there's a door to the left, but otherwise just walls. Also, do the walls go up to the ceiling? How high up is the ceiling?
You haven't done a real look through the space but from where you are it looks like an iron wall is 6" on the other side of the window in the door. The 'nose' is what you can see through the window.

questions from Zahra:
Can Zahra tell what the 4 markings are on either side of the keyhole?
Is the hourglass marked by the triangle on the picture or is that something else?
Was there any way to tell how thick the glass is?
Can Zahra tell what the 4 markings are on either side of the keyhole?
She knows what you know. What do you think the symbol means? If you want a hint from me make a sense motive roll to have a 'hunch' - DC20.

No, the hourglass isn't marked on the map. It isn't represented on the image. It is floating over the image about four feet. The triangle is etched into the centre part of the image.

You can tell it is much thicker than normal glass. Looking at the frame it is set in it could be anywhere from one to two inches thick.

Zahra:
What shape is the original window in the curved wall? I would think it may be some sort of way to keep score but I will roll for a hunch - although she will need to roll a natural 20
Everyone is divided and there will be a pretty consistant situation where something is happening to half the group while the other half has to sit and wait. For those waiting it makes sense for me to post in three round increments.
If you come up with something that interrupts the three round post I will ret con/back track/slow down events. Please don't take the 3 round posts to mean everything is finalized.
The dynamic here will very much slow down play. My hope is that I can smooth things out a bit.

Also, I'm not evil. Don't trust Cairee. She's working against you.
I did design this challenge as the final day of the games. I expected all of the leftover teams would perform it one after the other on the last day of the birthday party.
If you're getting very-high-stakes vibes from this one then know that it is because you are sane.
I'm glad you've chosen to do this early. I like what it means for the storytelling and it has been hard to hold onto for the past - whatever year or so.
You are very welcome to mover over to Finland to alleviate those pesky time zone issues if you like - although we are at the brown and wet and muddy and rainy phase of the year at the moment, so just now I can't really recommend it.

The west coast of Canada is also brown, wet and muddy right now! Also chilly and getting dark. Checks globe. Oh wait, you're farther north, you're darker. I know, you should come to us!
Could be a nice place to live to be sure, though I hear buying apartments as a non-citizen is a bit problematic these days. Or was that old news, or limited to some highly competitive real-estate markets only?
