I do not think we will manage to finish all of the parts on a PBP. I do think we can get through enough to provide some tracki sheet information and do some of the surveys. ![]()

No need to read through the Doomsday Dawn scenario, I will handle that and divulge necessary information. As far as I can tell each chapter is a single level. BUT, they jump you around like crazy, including multiple sets of characters and adventures for levels 1 - 17. ![]()

I really like the idea of scaling spells, I’ve seen it in other systems and it works well. As a prepared caster though i think it might really limit your available spells. ![]()

Quite a few submissions so far but i will continue to leave recruitment open until the designated time (8/14, 8 PM), even if it’s only so i have time to read through the rule book and quest basics. If you’ve submitted already thanks, and feel free to continue any discussion you want on this thread (like the this thread ain’t big enough for the two of us dwarves) that Distant Scholar and Venthrax have started. ![]()

Submission received. I do use maps/ tokens, usually google drive spreadsheets, but also roll20 if it gets more complicated. Venthrax wrote:

![]() In 4718 Ar—later this year—a rare planetary conjunction, in combination with the power of ancient artifacts erected in the desert kingdom of Osirion thousands of years ago, will create a massive portal between Golarion and the hostile planet of Aucturn, at the far edge of the solar system. If this portal appears, it will allow the ravenous aliens of the Dominion of the Black to harvest brains from the peoples of the Inner Sea region on a devastating scale and provide an opportunity for a nascent entity of great power awakening from eons-long gestation to feast upon the world of Golarion. Fortunately, hints of this imminent apocalypse have emerged from the sands of time over the past decade, affording a desperate chance to avert this doom. These hints and clues have become known as the Aucturn Enigma, and unless multiple groups of heroes rise to the challenge of opposing this catastrophe, it could destroy one world forever while simultaneously creating another. Welcome everyone,
Because the playtest has just been issued, I will not be requiring full character submissions. . Instead, please submit the below: -Up to 3 posts or even former PBP characters as examples of your play style. These can be as a PC or GM. And / or -describe your usual playstyle, I know it can vary based on character but I find myself and others reverting back to a similar style. (ie, you talk to everyone to find out everything, or you just focus on combat and let others handle dialogue, etc) That’s it! I will try to base selections on those criteria. If you want to submit more, that is fine, and I will read through anything you submit (within reason). Character notes: anything official P2E is fine, possibly including optional rules like roll for stats. I would like to start out discussion with character ideas and concepts from everybody so the party can form a good set of characters. And since I’m playing a PC you can play whatever you want and I’ll fill in a need if there is one. PBP Notes and Expectations:
I saw this guide posted in another recruitment post, and I am a big fan. Doomed Hero’s Guide to PBP -I’m in the EST. I work 8-5, but can post before that, at lunch or at night. -I’ll be posting every day on week days, and I expect you to follow the same pattern. -I usually bot for trivial RP situations, as well as rolling initiative and saves for players. I’ll be more specific when the game starts. I will keep recruitment open until at least Tuesday, August 14th at 8 PM EST. Good luck everyone! ![]()
![]() Mist Raiders it is! I actually like the idea of Soren, now out of an obligatory job, seeking out Ashweather to form this group, especially if Soren had a good reason to help the skaa. It would give Ashweather a more clear reason to switch from whatever crew he was with before running noble vs noble missions to a new help the skaa group. Together they have the frontman and financier, and the charmer. They tab Damian for he martial tactics, and... we’ll have to see how the rest work in based on their character submissions. I just said central dominance because it seems the most interesting. I don’t have a trait for you yet Soren, but I’ll think of one. ![]()

I have a tag along character in a Cheliax based house politics quest that I’m running that is a Dandy/Skirmisher. It fits perfectly in that setting socially, and doesn’t seem to have lost any combat prowess. ![]()
![]() Ashweather Ackroyal, m, Noble, 38. WHY DID YOU JOIN THE CREW? -advocate for skaa equality HOW DID YOU LIVE BEFORE YOU JOINED THE CREW? -businessman: to the public, I run an ash cleaning service in the Central Dominance. I also have led or worked with several fixer groups, including this current crew. WHAT SPECIAL SKILL DO YOU BRING TO THE CREW? -well-organized planner WHAT IS YOUR MOST DISTINCTIVE FEATURE? -always looks people in the eye HOW DO OTHER PEOPLE DESCRIBE YOUR PERSONALITY? -affable DO YOU HAVE ANY SPECIAL POWERS (LIKE MAGIC OR SHAPESHIFTING)? -No ARE YOU ESPECIALLY FIT, SMART, OR CHARISMATIC? -Charismatic, somewhat smart, not terribly fit ARE YOU WELL-OFF OR DO YOU STRUGGLE TO GET BY? -I have resources and influence in abundance WHAT IS THE WORST THING THAT EVER HAPPENED TO YOU? -upon being discovered as a noble I was forced to punish my fellow skaa workers. WHAT DO YOU BELIEVE IS YOUR ULTIMATE PURPOSE? -establish the true nature of the skaa as equal to nobles ![]()
![]() Ashweather founded the group, and I would think we operate in the central dominance. I’m guessing that Ashweather didn’t grow up there though. He probably served out in the northeastern dominance. I have most of those questions answered on my character sheet by I’ll copy them over here when I’m on a computer. In the meantime, let’s start the secret keeping! GM + Soldier1st: Ashweather is growing accustomed to the trappings of wealth and nobility over time, and as he does is slowly distancing himself from the plight of the skaa. He still doesn’t take action against them, but his fervor on their behalf is diminishing. ![]()
![]() We’ll have to beef up some to be effective ambushers. I have no powers, we have two likely mistings (with one being martial, the other uncertain) and a kandra. If the kandra and other misting have martial we could certainly go Ambush. (Can a kandra be a martial build?) My guy remains the same regardless though i might up his physique one. TheInfamousWes, any thoughts on a character idea? ![]()
![]() Ok, I put together the concept for the noble crew leader. Link to the character sheet is above. Quick background: Noble born but switched at birth with skaa. Worked as foreman in skaa fields for House Ackroyal (my own house). As a teen, my father visited and the likeness was striking. He investigated, found out what happened, and returned me to my proper station. He made me punish all of the skaa who had been "holding me prisoner", as well as the midwife who had made the mistake. I spent several years get tutored as nobles normally would. I hated the nobility as any actual skaa would, but the skaa had turned their favor against me. They saw it as I had abandoned them for a better life. I spent years rebuilding that relationship. I currently have regained their favor, but look to further the cause of their equality. I have a ash cleaning business for noble houses and occasionally the government. It's a front though,f or the mercenary work I lead. ![]()

What if the first time they did this, they DID give money to the skaa. The skaa had extra money, the nobles found out, and the skaa were punished harshly for thievery. That drove the crew into a lower profile, and also made them search for better ways of helping the skaa. ![]()
![]() Ok, so after reading through the early chapters of the book it sounds like step one is determine a reason for your crew's existence, and a goal, and methodology. I say we throw several options out and see what fits. Here's the first one I had: The crew leader is Noble X (working name). Noble X grew up skaa but his true heritage was revealed (maybe through a snapping and devlopment of elemental powers). Now as a noble, X despises the way skaa are treated by the nobility. He forms a crew, backs it financially, and leads it in actions against the other Houses, especially those that go out of their way to prey on the skaa. The problem though, is that the more he lives the noble life, the more he takes on their characteristics, which can cause tension and disagreement within the crew. Possible crew names being "The False Nobility" or "House Espionage". ![]()
![]() I wasn't aware of this AP but I looked it up and it sounds awesome. I'm actually running a home brew that I think is a similar concept set in Cheliax, where a group is tasked with overthrowing the rule of House Thrune and the other major Houses. Most of my PBP experience is with GMing, so two GM posts below and one character post. Post Example 1: This is the introduction to a quest I ran online. The quest is actual a re-telling of the first Pathfinder quest I played, and the characters involved are all the originally played characters (including Dante in post two). Post Example 1: Intro to the Merc Guild Post Example 2: The ship is in a new location that no one can recognize. The Captain and most of the crew are dead. The first mate is in hysterics. Everyone has lost their hearing. Dristen takes the command. Post Example 2: Dristen takes command Post Example 3: another GM post. The party has woken up with no recent memories, and has only one link to their past lives. That link is then hanged for treason. ![]()

Now now, this isn't a Way of the Wicked recruitment thread. ![]()
![]() Erasmus Halvani IV: -Kineticist looks fascinating, though after reading through it there are some things I’m still fuzzy on. Looks like you will have a crazy amount of DPS though. -That is a ridiculous level of CON. I’m currently playing a character that got one shot, so that seems appealing right this minute. -I like how you fit the build into your background well. That blade is going to be a marvel to everyone else, and it certainly is worth of the legendary status.

![]() Hrothgar Dergunsson: -What’s the long term plan for the character build? Prestige class? More martial? More Arcane? -I started reviewing your background and then went on a long trip down the example posts from some of your other games. I’m not too worried about working in the background for the various arcane and martial endeavors, you’ll have the opportunity and resources for it. ![]()
![]() Irene Knapp Review: -I did think it was a little odd that a scrollmaster magus has a really nice longbow -I’m guessing the make whole spells are in case you need to repair your scrolls? -This recruitment group has so many languages it’s going to be set no matter who gets in -The personality section is really good, and gives a really clear picture of the character. Pair with the background you should have a good base to work with for this character. You’re all set for submission.
