A Core PFS campaign that will go from level 1 through level 12, completing all of Season 5 in the process.

At least, that was the original plan. We made it to 5th level with a few characters leaving and others joining. At that point life had gotten in the way for several of the players and interest in Core was waning. The group had one last run and then we closed it down.

He stands up and pulls out a sword. “Now I might just be willing ask her ta’ grant you folks an audience if’n yew can pay a small fee.

His compatriot in a magenta also stands and gets his weapon ready.

They are both smiling, but more in the way you would imagine a predator would smile at prey.

You caught sight of a glint of light off some metal and can just barely make out the shape of another bandit hidden in the trees to the north of the most western small tent. You suspect the metal you saw was from an arrowhead.

Now, if you would be so good as to introduce us to your boss, I'm sure we could arrange a small gift to your order. Why, I bet this shiny gold piece I have here could be made to feed all of you for a week, were you to spend it wisely!"

Garif says, ”Nico, attack!“ then bends at the waist, reaching down and laying a hand on the ground as he mutters a few words. A ripple travels through the grass towards the bandits and their leader, and the grass suddenly springs to life and grasps at those who would attack Garif and his friends!

Cast entangle to affect both bandits and Aldona, just catching them at the edge of the 40’ radius. DC 15 Reflex save. If it’s possible in terms of distance and the fact that red is up a tree, I’d like to catch red also, but I can’t really sort out the measurements on my tiny phone screen.

Though pleased that her magic did the trick, Shieara feels a swooping sensation in her stomach as said trick draws the ire of Aldona. The woman's glare made her feel like prey...and she didn't like it, not one bit!

Garif grins in pleased surprise at how effective his spell has been. With a shrug to Shieara, he says, ”They’re pretty strong, yeah. Just depends if these folks are stronger. Or slipperier. But they seem to be holding pretty well at the moment!“

Moving a bit closer to the fray, he calls a ball of fire into his hand, preparing to throw it at the werewolf - and hoping not to set the forest on fire.

I assume attempting to stand would trigger your readied action. Since Aldona is prone and in difficult terrain, she can’t charge.

After his opportunistic strike with the glaive, Kleines finally processes Damiar's words. He drops the reach weapon, drawing his silver light mace as he steps forward next to Verrix and swings again.

Now that the noise of combat is over, you can all easily hear a thumping sound, sort of like someone hitting a wooden table or something, from within the large tent.

Garif, now holding an unneeded ball of fire in his hand, waves with his free hand, causing the writhing grass and branches to go still. Still carrying his flame, he hurries up to the large tent, calling Nico to join him.

Dismiss entangle.

"We should find out what that noise is!" he calls out, gesturing for the stouter - or at least stronger - party members to lead the way.


Inside the large tent you find a large, locked trunk. That is where the pounding sound is coming from. A set of keys hangs on a peg set into one of the tent’s support poles. There is a bedroll covered in matted fur, a table with what looks like a smashed bird cage on it. The table is covered and surrounded by pigeon feathers, splintered avian bones, and a few fragments of the cage.

There is a crumpled note on the table.

Wicent found some rich whelp snooping around our watering hole. We roughed him up and have stashed him away while we figure out how to make some coin off of him. Who do you think we can ransom him off to? That lordly pet hanging around your shop probably knows someone we could get in touch with, right?

"Can someone figure out getting that chest open?" Garif asks the others. "Probably with those keys, but if not, we'll wish we had Iovo with us, I bet." He considers the shattered cage and bird remnants a moment, shaking his head in puzzlement, then picks up the note.

"Hmm," Garif says, scratching his beard in thought as he reads the note, "I hate to say this, but we know someone whose name begins with M, who has a shop where a lordling hangs out." He glances at Kleines, then offers another clue, in case the burly fellow hasn't quite sorted it out, "He drinks mare's milk?"


Looking around the tent, you also spot a heap of equipment and clothing.

There is a set of medium sized studded leather, a buckler, a masterwork aldori dueling sword, a potion vial, a nobles outfit with the crest of House Lebeda — a white swan on a blue background with a rising sun in the background, a signet ring with the same crest, three daggers, five sunrods, and assorted jewelry.

To my knowledge, no one has inspected the bandit's gear.

Oh, and I hate how older modules split descriptions!

Garif sets down the note, and moves to inspect the bandit's gear, trying out the keys on the locked chest while he's at it.


One of the keys opens the chest.

When Garif opens it, he finds a young human with a bag over their head, hands and legs bound, and stripped of clothing other than a cheap nightshirt.

The person sits up as best they can.

Heh...guess maybe I can hold my own with the rest of 'em after all, even if they do got more experience.

She carefully makes her way inside the tent and pulls the bag off of the person's head. "Hey ho, Silverhall Salvations, here for all yer rescuin' needs," Shieara sings cheerfully. "Everythin' okay? Nothin' broken or in need of mendin' is there?"
