Interestingly, I was able to go into almost all of my reported sessions for Garif (even though I wasn't the GM for any of them) and click Edit, save and exit and they were updated to have Garif as Core.
For some reason, Dennis' run of Glass River Rescue wouldn't allow me to do that - maybe because it was a PbP Gameday Game and thus the reporting was different?

![]() |

More than likely, yes.
Perhaps Hilary can do something to fix that one,

GM Hmm |

I kicked a tire there. Did it work?

![]() |

Yes, it looks like it did!
Excellent, now the site shows Iovo as having some prestige!

![]() |

Here is a document that I’ve very quickly assembled for the various rumors and locations to investigate.
Anyone who wants to help with the upkeep, feel free to request edit permission.
Sorry it isn’t better organized, I’ve got several things I’m juggling right now.

Summary told us large groups are bad.
You've figured out that while it takes more than one PC present to wring more than one rumor out of the folk at a given location, you have diminishing returns if you send too many people to any given location. You're probably generally better off making multiple independent checks than you are aiding each other, although it's not a slam-dunk.
Of course, rumors being what they are, they're probably not all true. Indeed, I suspect you have some idea about the truth of one of the ones you've already heard....
There is tension in town. Some people seem to think there are demons everywhere, and of course everybody is suspicious of the sinister Pathfinder Society. You really want to keep a low profile. At the end of each phase, if you want to try to keep a low profile, you can each make one of a Stealth, Bluff, or Disguise check. If enough people make it, it'll help prolong the inevitable backlash of your investigation making waves. (Disguse and Bluff would be, in different ways, trying to fit in and not seem at all extraordinary. Stealth is just trying not to be noticed.)

Rob the GM |

Wow, cool, thanks for that!

![]() |

Iovo, that's awesome! May I also have edit permission?
Hmm

Rob the GM |

Sorry about the long silence. Picking things up again.

![]() |

I'll be on a long work trip Oct 9-28. I'll still have internet access, but will have limited time to post and will be in a very different time zone. Bot me as needed.

![]() |

Hey guys --
Just so you know, life is kicking my ass right now. I am going to continue to be intermittently slow to respond for the next month and a half. I'm sorry about that. Let me know if it's not acceptable, and we'll figure out what to do.

![]() |

Thanks for the update! Slow is fine with me when I know to expect it.
As always, real life comes first. I wish you the best with whatever it has thrown you.
Take care!
Bret

![]() |

Same here. You take care of you and I hope things will calm down for you sooner rather than later!

![]() |

This week was a particularly bad week. Hopefully things won't be as slow as this week in general.
Part of the reason I'm slow is that I am in Westminster's production of Hamlet, which just started rehearsals. (I'm playing Polonius; old guy, you know.) It's probably foolish to take this on in addition to everything else... but how often in life do you get a chance to be in a production of Hamlet?

![]() |

Just want to check, are there three opportunities a day to gather information or four?
The reason I ask is in the last one today the rumor says there is to be a jailbreak.

![]() |

Though it shouldn't affect my posting too much, my work schedule has been shifted to solely night shifts in the wake of our one dedicated night shift person quitting unexpectedly. This will probably be what I'm doing for the somewhat-foreseeable-future so you'll be less likely to see posts from me during daylight hours (say, anywhere from about 8-10am up to 5-7pm CST).

![]() |

I think Rob is waiting on us to decide what we are doing next.
If there is someplace you want Iovo to investigate, just let me know. I don’t know if we have all the rumors, but I believe we have hit the main locations.

![]() |

I'm just waiting to see what more of the group thinks on things; Shieara expressed her own thoughts but she's flexible if we have time to go anywhere else before night falls.

![]() |

I don't really know where to go now. Maybe we should just protect the jail.

![]() |

We could try asking around to find the fellow who was asking around after us. Though we could end up in an infinite loop, asking around and around and never catching up with each other.

![]() |

I think if we have the time, we should try and find this guy that's been asking about us before it gets dark. After that, we should probably try to scope out the jail but maybe from a safe distance.

![]() |

I think it depends on what we want to do and how Rob wants to handle it.
At this point when running the scenario, I usually find I have to go a little bit off the rails just to keep the plot rolling — getting an idea what players want to do and then suggesting how to mostly fit that within the mechanics of the scenario.
As an example, trying to find the person with the button could be hit the streets, using Perception (to watch) or Diplomacy (to ask questions) and going from there.
Rob, please feel free to comment how you want this sort of thing handled.
I have kept the rumors pretty much as posted because I’ve run this scenario (a long time ago) and don’t want to use any inside knowledge here. Perhaps someone without that knowledge could better organize and summarize the information.

![]() |

I'm planning out ahead a bit: looking at the master schedule, we switched the entire level three and level four sets, right?
So that would make our next game after this one either 01-29 DWK 1: Shipyard Rats or A Case of Missing Persons (as we'd discussed switching it to). Did we come to a consensus on which we're doing next?

![]() |

Happy Thanksgiving, guys! Or Happy Thursday, if you prefer. Or both, that's cool too :)

GM Hmm |

Thanks sweetie. I hope everyone had a great holiday.
Hmm

![]() |

Yep! I had the day/night off so I did get to go make the rounds and eat with my in-laws and then with my parents later that evening...and even scored leftovers to take to work that Friday night :)

![]() |

I really didn’t enjoy TDWK Part 4, but that may be partially because I haven’t played the other parts. Although I would have a better GM for this, still it doesn’t excite me.
A Case of Missing Persons was fun from what I recall. The main reason to do it though is to meet up with the NPC from Stolen Heir again.
I was one of the people proposing the change and still like the idea. I don’t object to the original plan, I just think the changes would be more fun.

![]() |

I’m about to disappear down a rabbit hole for a bit, as I deploy to Saipan Thursday to clean up after a typhoon there. As a result, I’ll have limited time to post, and definitely no time to DM. I don’t really have strong views on what we play next, though I recall enjoying A Case of Missing Persons.

![]() |

I'm happy to GM either (I'm signed up for that slot), I just want to know which to prepare. Hopefully we can get this current one jump-started soon.

![]() |

I have played Case of Missing Persons and haven't played Devil We Know, so I'd prefer the latter just for that reason. A Case of Missing Persons was fun, though.

![]() |

I have no familiarity with either one (though I've played Stolen Heir in Standard) so I'm good either way.

BretI |

I'll ask again: What's our plan for the next scenario? Originally we had planned Devil We Know part 1, then we had talked about potentially replacing it with A Case of Missing Persons. Does anyone have thoughts on which way we want to go?
It looks like no real decision has been made yet.
Since Kate and Lady Ladile haven’t played TDWK, let’s keep with the original plan and run those two.

![]() |

Sounds good. I'll start prepping DWK 1 once we get a little momentum back in this one.

![]() |

Hey guys-- sorry about the speedbump again. It's the last week of classes right now, with finals week next week, so things should get better for a few weeks after that. (I'm also anticipating next term to be lighter weight than this term was.)

![]() |

Hilary and I will be making a trip over the weekend and most likely will only have two chances a day to post, once in the morning and again at night.
I’m posting so people are aware of the situation. I don’t expect it to be a problem for this game.

![]() |

Safe travels, you two!

Rob the GM |

Heh. No, I also didn't post over the weekend, and y'all are waiting for me.
Posting shortly.

Rob the GM |

I figure the guy has a round or, at most, two to live at this point....
(Or, at least, to stay conscious.)

![]() |

Any chance we could use a map that allows us to move our own tokens? Keeping track of where all seven of us have ended up during the round, so I don't end up on top of someone is a bit tricky. As I'm sure you know, Rob, Google Slides makes it very easy, and it's dynamic, so you don't have to update and link to a new map each time.

![]() |

^I'll second the recommendation for Google Slides. And the maps don't have to look pretty, they just have to be functional :)

Rob the GM |

Would it be OK if I didn't switch for this game? We're already into this combat, and I don't want to have to recreate everything.
(And, if you look at the speed at which I do things, you really don't want to be putting other obstacles in the way of my getting posts out....)

![]() |

You can do it however you like, Rob. We can manage to keep track of ourselves and others just fine, I’m sure. I will say, however, that I bet you’ll find it’s very easy to run maps with Google slides, and that it takes less time on the GM’s part. Not saying it to pressure you at all, since a bit of a learning curve is inevitable, just sayin’.

![]() |

I think it is wise of him to wait and experiment when he isn't on the hook to GM. It isn't much of a learning curve, but he is comfortable with the current system and there would be a learning curve.
Assuming the next time isn't VTT, I would also like it if he adopted slides.

Rob the GM |

Honestly, I think I've demonstrated that I should *not* GM another PbP game. I'm just too slow. I can't keep things going. If I GM further games, they should only be VTT games.

![]() |

In any event -- guys, trust me. This combat is not going to last that long, and it's the only one left. You're not going to have to put up with the way I like to do things for long. This interminable game will be over and then you can be done with me.
