Rob's character is Verrix. Somebody already has that name, so I added "the Pathfinder" to the end, one of the things I tend to do.
He was abandoned by unknown parents in the foothills of the Kortos mountains. Found by a silver dragon, she took him home and raised him. Two or three minutes later (from her perspective), he was a young adult, and ready to go out and try to make his mark on the world. She put him in touch with Olystra Zadrian, who sponsored his admission to training with the Pathfinder Society.
He's now a Paladin of Apsu. In a few levels, his sorcererous abilities will manifest (of the silver draconic bloodline, natch). A few levels after that, he'll be come a Dragon Disciple.

My (Dennis) character is Kleines Johann, a paladin of Irori. He grew up in Absolom sneaking into the stands to watch the fights at the Irorium and dreaming of one day being a fighting monk himself. He even began training to be one as a young man, but was (unsurprisingly, given his INT and WIS scores) ill-suited to be a monk. He was quickly sent over "as an exchange student" to study instead at the Tempering Hall, an Iomadaean paladin training school in Absolom. He likes it better there anyway - "less readin' and writin', more bleedin' and fightin'!"

Hello!
I'm Iovo Apastron! My twin sister, Damiar should be here soon!
We joined the Pathfinder Society in order to see more of Golarian. Should be a lot of fun!
---
Iovo is a female elf wearing leather armor and carrying a short bow, light mace, rapier and dagger.

Hmm's character is Damiar Apastron. She's the twin of Bret's Iovo Apastron.
___
Our mother, Liavara Apastron, was a Lirgeni Astronomer before the Eye of Abendego destroyed her homeland. She fled back through a magical portal to the true elvish homeland, Sovyrian on the planet Castrovel. It was there that we were born.
Liavara (herself named for a planet) named Damiar and Iovo after the Twin Worlds that collided, destroying themselves to create the Diaspora. She gave us this name not meant as an ill omen, but to remind us that nothing but ill can happen when sisters quarrel.
We are both very young for elves. Tales from our gnomish tutor, Matthias Starstride, have made us endlessly curious about Golarian. We took an elf gate to Kyonin, but did not like it much. They were insular, and disinterested in the lands outside their home country. So we decided to join the Pathfinder Society in hopes of further travel and exploration.
Although the Grand Lodge would have been a natural fit for two Desnans who love to travel, we met Zarta early. Like us, Zarta is fascinated with magic, planar travel and research. For two young girls raised by a smart but somewhat distant mother, Zarta's zest for life was a breath of fresh air. When she invited us into the Dark Archive, it was as if we found a second family here on Golarian.
So that's our backstory. More on our personalities later. We're pretty sure that Iovo has a mischievous streak. I think that Damiar is a bit more serious, but we'll see how the personalities bear out.
Hmm

I'm excited to be playing with you too, Annie!
Are you going to be an elf with us? We can be the elfiest-elves ever!
Hmm

Everything is cool when you're part of a team!
Elfie thing is awesome when we're living our dream!

You are so getting perform sing. We can do duets!

![]() |

Snow elf?

![]() |

Magic, obviously!

![]() |

Honestly, without magic, most things about elves don't make sense. So are you from the land of the Linnorm Kings? Ooh! You could be an elvish barbarian! That would be exciting!
Hmm

![]() |

A cheerful forlorn elf (with occasional anger management issues)!
Hmm

![]() |

Do you own Peoples of the North? We can feed you some tribe names!
Hmm

![]() |

I don't think either of us care if you are from the North. In my case, I was just trying to suggest an area that people sometimes don't think about that would have small tribes in a rural area.
Pick what works for you.

Oladon |
Alas, it seems my intended tone was not received with that last message. I didn't actually think that you cared if I was from the North... I was just being contrary. :) Sometimes it's easy to forget that people I've just met may not know when I'm being facetious!
I actually very much appreciate the collaboration and inspiration. Keep it coming!

GM Kate |

Hey all! I will get the Confirmation started on Sunday, which should give everyone time to finish up characters.

![]() |

I'm ready!

DM Khel |

I will probably not really get my character started until Sunday, but I'll get organized enough to play along in the mission briefing.

![]() |

I have weapons and armor and have a grand total of 68 gold left to spend.
I am willing to invest in a mule for the group and either holy water or alchemist's fire.
Is there anything the group wants?
Hmm

![]() |

I could use a mule to carry my food, bedroll, and other such heavy things!
Strength 11 and Masterwork Backpack is not core. :(

![]() |

Group mule is not a bad idea. Especially if we can name it. What are you going to name it? I suggest the name "Adril". I'm actually carrying a medium load, but since I also wear scale mail, I'm slowed down and have a -4 ACP anyway, so it doesn't matter to me that much.
Acid, alchemist's fire, and holy water are always good to have; swarms, you know.
The one thing from Ultimate Equipment that I really which was in core is the Journal. Everybody Pathfinder should have one. I usually buy one for my PFS characters. But.... it's not core.
Is a hip flask and whiskey core?

![]() |

Is a hip flask and whiskey core?
Containers they do list are Flask and Clay Jug.
Food and Drink mentions Ale and Wine.
Would Whiskey be considered a Trade Good?

![]() |

I think we can still have journals, even if they're not listed in core.
Hmm

![]() |

My journal is probably a journal of 1000 ink stains!

Buy a mule if you want, but I'm wearing heavy armor, and thus will be encumbered anyway. I can carry another 125 lbs before I go from medium to heavy encumberance, and I'm happy to carry stuff for people.

"Oh, thank you!" Iovo exclaims.
She then hands him her backpack. It has her bedroll, waterskin, rations, and some rope with a grappling hook in it.
21 pounds

Oh, Rees, you are going to have your hands full with the two of us!
Hmm

Living in an elvish paradise!

![]() |

Having been traveling this past week, I feel I missed a key development in our party: do we actually not have a wizard? Or any full arcane caster?
I was initially thinking about who might use a wand of mage armor on my druid, which prompted me to wonder more broadly about arcane casting - and it seems we're travelling light in that regard.
I'm certainly not suggesting anyone change their plan, mostly just confirming my understanding that we are without wizard and sans sorcerer.

![]() |

Hmm, I guess you're right. When Kate is playing, we'll have a wizard around, but we won't when she's GMing.
Once Verrix is 4th level, he will have a level of Sorcerer and be able to use appropriate wands. That'll be a while from now, however.
Is the bard going to have any investment in UMD?
If we think it's important to have a full arcane caster, I'd be happy to swap out Verrix for a elven wizard. I could collude with Kate to make sure that we have different specialties (say). I suspect we're OK as is, however.

![]() |

I am planning to multiclass as Wizard, but wouldn't be picking that up until 3rd level.
I do have UMD skill, but someone else probably is better at that.
Just to be clear, my current plan is:
1 Rogue
2 Rogue, trapspotter talent
3 Wizard 1 -- Will need to decide between Transmuter or Diviner, Arcane Bond
4 Rogue 3
5 Wizard 2
6 Wizard 3
7+ Arcane Trickster

![]() |

If Iovo is the only UMD person, I'll move a point around to cover it! I think we're okay as is, though!
Hmm

![]() |

Yeah, it sounds like we'll have enough sorta-arcane types that we'll be OK when Kate's gnome is off doing whatever it is that gnomes do when they're not with the party....

![]() |

I've moved a point on Hero Lab to get UMD.
I think I still want to buy the mule. Any other suggestions for names? Durvin could work for me.

![]() |

Name it for a constellation; The Wagon.

![]() |

Reorganizing their collections in the First World?

Name it for a constellation; The Wagon.
I love the idea of naming a mule "The Wagon", if only for the chance to confuse NPCs. "Oh that's alright, just put it on the wagon!" *looks over at solitary mule*
