So... Verrix seems somewhat occupied for the moment, and he was going to GM the next slot. What do we want to do, here? Does someone else want to take it? Should we consider trying to get together a VTT slot for any of these?

How do we want to proceed? Has anyone emailed Rknop?

I emailed Rob four days ago, since we hadn't heard from him in so long, and he has not replied.

I have already GM'ed Library of the Lion in Core, so I can't take the next one. A VTT would be fun, though I'll have a hard time carving out a 4-5 hour chunk of time before February, as I'll be back on cleaning up after the NorCal fires.

For future VTT planning purposes, what times zones do we have represented? I think we have:

Phinellippa, Kleines, Garif: Pacific
Rees: Mountain
Damiar, Iovo: Central
Verrix: Eastern

Does that look right?

Since my Gameday VI has finally wrapped up, I could run a session. I am not set up for VTT though.

The important thing is that we are all in North America. There really is not that huge of a spread for VTT, but if we cannot carve out a 4-5 hour chunk that makes things difficult. So... Bret, are you thinking of taking us through Library of the Lion?

PS I could be set up for VTT really easily. I have all the tools, and know three eager VTT VOs who have been dying to teach me. So... I could actually do this.

If we can find time, I'm all for VTT. Our available times in the next month are dwindling quickly, though, so if we're going to do that we should schedule it soon.

I don't mean to push you into it, but all you really need to do VTT is Google Hangouts (part of gmail) and maps on Google Slides or Drawings.

You do a group voice call in Hangouts so everyone can talk (you can do dice rolls in it too, if you want), and manipulate the map. Easy peasy.

If we are doing it that way, I am set up. I’ve used video hangouts with another group and have no problems there. I’ve used slides with multiple PbP and only generally have problems with text boxes in slides.

I thought people were looking to use Fantasy Grounds or one of those services.

We've used Roll20 before, but honestly it didn't seem any easier than Google slides/hangouts (or Skype) would be.

I had one of my VAs test it and it worked for her on her desktop, but not in mobile. So... That’s my issue! I almost always post from mobile!

Would you be doing the VTT from mobile too, given that it's a real-time thing?

As an alternative, some folks in my region created a PFS slack channel and wrote a dicebot for it. We could do the typing/rolling in there, and the voice/maps in google.

But if we were to sit down and play a VTT, would you do it from a computer?

Generally speaking, no. I use an ipad with a keyboard for everything. The laptop is heavier in my lap, so I generally only haul it out if I desperately need to do so.

That said... If we were going to do it, I could haul out the desktop for rolls.

Or just roll real dice in front of a a web cam.

I'm normally working on my iPad as well, but have an old laptop that still works.

I did some experiments on the laptop.

There doesn't appear to be a way to cut and paste multiple rolls.

I tried the following and it confused Google Hangouts.
/roll d20+4
/roll d6+1

Bret tries to "/roll d20+4 /roll d6+1" but confuses Google. Try "/roll 3d6+2" instead.

I'm not seeing a good way to label the roll as well.

We might be able to make it work, but there are things which appear to be lacking.

I think that I may just break out my Fantasy Grounds Ultimate membership that I got for a gift. I am sure I can get Hels to give me a tutorial. (Though that will also mean using a desktop! Sigh, Bret, we are DOOMED!)

Using something like Fantasy Grounds could be cool (I've kind of always wanted to use it, have downloaded the trial version a couple of times over the years), although it means learning a new system and dealing with the inevitable connection hiccups and such.

We could also go pure Luddite (well, except for Google Hangouts) and just roll the dice on a table in front of us and report the results, with no webcams or nothin'. I trust that all of us are here to have a good time playing this game, and not trying to 'win' by getting the best rolls.

A vote for pure Luddite or just Hangouts here. :)

I would prefer PbP for Library of the Lion since I’ve only played it, never run it. I will have to download and read it.

If it were something like Scars of the Third Crusade that I had run multiple times, I would probably try Luddite.

Dennis and I are both at cons this weekend, so we would definitely prefer to wait until next week to get started on the next one.

I can't run that one for Core credit, so make it happen, Bret! I'm just about done leveling Garif, just need to update the alias. I'm glad we can do the rebuild thing still, because I had done something dumb with Nico's feat selection (took Weapon Focus for a +1 on his claws, instead of Weapon Finesse for a +2 on all his attacks), which I fixed.

Go for it. I realistically won't have a chance to level Kleines until I get back from the con (so, Monday or Tuesday), but it shouldn't take long. Low level paladin isn't exactly complicated.

I will start preparing it this weekend then.

I've got Garif and Nico leveled up, so in that sense I'm ready to go the the Library of the Lion. I'm leaving tomorrow for more work on the wildfires response, so my schedule we be a bit unpredictable, but I'm expecting I'll still have time to post.

I bought a couple of scrolls of lesser restoration, since I played a game last night where I should have had one and didn't, but I've still got about 1000 gp to spend. Could go with the standard cloak of resistance, or save it for a magic sling so I'm a little more effective with that, but I'd welcome any suggestions of useful druid type items too.

One question lingers on our moving forward: what do we do about Rob? He still hasn't replied to my email of ten days ago. I hate to drop him from a campaign he created, but I'm not sure what else to do. It worries me that his only post in the last week is this one, makes me wonder what's going on with him.

And if we carry on without Rob, to replace him we need to find someone who's got a core character of about the right level (could tweak things a bit by having them go slow track along the way if needed) who hasn't played these scenarios, who's in for the long haul, who we all want to play with.

So, any thoughts?

That's true, and Library is not an especially deadly scenario.

Yeah. We can only do that for so long before he would be hopelessly behind credit-wise, but it might be worth giving him another scenario's worth of time before recruiting a replacement.

It would be pretty easy for him to pick up a credit via PbP or VTT for Core and apply it to his character here. I like the idea.

I’ll wait until everyone has their chronicles and says they are ready.
