So, this character kind of has a problem: He played a Scenario that I'd played before as another character, again for credit, because I believed at the time that I'd run enough games (5) to be a 1-Star DM and hence could use that perk thereof. I was wrong, and the DM at the time didn't know that either. Both the other character's adventure and this one have been officially reported and given credit. What should I do?
Easiest solution is to ask the GM to remove the credit and then destroy the paper chronicle.
Any other solution would probably be at odds with the campaign rules. You can also ask either your local VC or the online VC whether they have a solution.

In-person Pathfinder Society has been dead in my area for a couple years now (hence my migrating here) and I don't know where any of the DMs have gone off to.

Well, for reporting purposes, because the session was assigned to that character regardless, it's going to show up. Now, what you can do, (and should be done), is to take "No Credit" for the game, which just means you need to remove 1XP, 2PP, and whatever GP you had received from that Chronicle Sheet at the time. Sessions will still show your Fame and PP as 2 higher than it should be, but if that is an issue, you can ask to have it altered.

Well, that's easy enough if it's good enough.

I've played a few games for no credit, one because I honestly didn't realize I had played it already, and a few just to help people make tables. Now, the DM could have not reported my character as playing, but, by the rules, even if you play something for no credit, you should be both recorded as having played, and also given a Chronicle Sheet with everything marked out. A "No Credit" Chronicle, just for proof that you played, and it was a legal table.
But, if the DM does report you as playing, to the reporting system it will show that you played for credit. The DM can reduce the PP gained, but it's going to still show you completed the scenario regardless.
For Example:
Mar 7, 2013 22976 GM Kobash's "The Disappeared" PbP 1 Kobash #4–11: The Disappeared (RPG) 5274 -19 Justicar Beckett des Laurant Silver Crusade 0 Report a problem with this session
It was reported that I took part, but I don't receive any XP, GP, PP, or even any of the Chronicle Sheet's Boons for it. But, it's pretty much on me entirely to account for that (minus the PP).
The Amazing Vanzetti
|
Well, I've already rectified my experience/Prestige/Fame/gold situation and removed the offending Chronicle; given that the group I got the Chronicle at has scattered to the winds as far as I know, I'm not sure there's much more I can do.
DM Beckett
|
Don't get rid of it, just cross it out and note "No Credit" or "0 XP". You never know when you might need it. Or need to remember down the road that this was not one of your DM Star replays. :P

I had a scenario that accidentally got reported twice. The second time the system noticed that I had already played it and automatically marked me as getting no credit.

I haven't gotten rid of it, per se. I have a folder of rejected character ideas, a few other superfluous Chronicles, and similar, and I'm keeping it in there.

"Attention, Pathfinders!" the halfling Venture-Captain speaks up above the din. "I've got some missions details to give you all! As many of you know, less than a decade ago, the Pathfinder Society established a lodge in Nirmathas, an act that infuriated the nation's expansionist rival Molthune. The latter outlawed the Society soon after, and ever since Pathfinders have relied on smugglers like the Varisian entrepreneur Guaril Karela to slip supplies past the Molthuni blockade for both the lodge and the Society's war-torn neighbors. Something has intercepted those shipments. If you would like to help uncover the culprit and save the Society's reputation in Nirmathas, come see me!"

Need two more for Hall of Drunken Heroes (Tier 7-11), two to three more for Beggar's Pearl (Subtier 1-2), and three to four more for Beggar's Pearl (Subtier 6-7). Anyone close is invited!

"SIX! Six pathfinders to do this mission! Quick! Pathfinder Bodriggan Wuthers is missing and Venture-Captain Eliza Pentulengro is waiting for you!"
I am recruiting for a 1-5 adventure, 0-07 Among the Living. The first six to check in get to play!

One more spot is available for my Standard Shades of Ice Trilogy. I'll be starting in a day or two, so please log into the discussion thread and post your level 1-5 character to join. First one in wins.
The scenarios are Tier 1-5, but we'll be doing the Subtier 1-2 version.

It says that scenario is a 1-7. Do you know what tier you're running? I have a Level 5 I'd like to run. I'll sign up in case you do 3-4 or 6-7.
Indeed, my bad. We're likely to play the game in subtier 3-4 and there are two spots left. Anyone is interested?

We had a player drop out of Zinou's Among the Living game, so now we're at only 4 players, playing Tier 6-7. Is there anyone that could help us out and join us? A level 7 pregen would be fine if you don't have an eligible character. It's part of Gameday!
Please join us here
if you can!
I believe you can apply this credit towards a level 1 character even if you use a Level 7 pregen, but somebody else can back me up on that.

Yep, you can always reduce the gold down to 500 GP in order to apply pregen credit to a level one character!
I do have my witch I could play, but I'll have to format her character sheet when I get home tonight.

A harried looking man in dirty robes shuffles into the lodge, out of breath.
"Venture-Captain Ambrus Valsin sent me to find one or two more brave souls willing to adventure in the Segang Jungle of Jalmray. Some of his initial party got stuck in the Hao Jin Tapestry, he said, and won't be able to make it."
He pauses to catch his breath, and leans against the bar.
"Although it doesn't surprise me that you Pathfinders couldn't find your way out of a set of curtains," he mutters, not as quietly as he'd hoped.
"Well? Anyone?" He mutters something about having more important work to do, and hurries off.
This is a CORE run of #6–08 The Segang Expedition, subtier 1–2. We're starting now, and I have one, maybe two seats available. Although we will hurry, there is no guarantee we will finish before the Siege of the Serpents tables begin in early November. (The first scenario ran a wee bit late.)

A woman wearing armor bearing the sigildry of Cailen Caiden and leaning on a spear raised her hand as the man started to turn away. "Here now, fellow!
