Well it would be easy to trick Hakk. The curse is killing them, it is just a matter of time.

Anyways if Vantrag tells him to leave them to their fate, is Hakk going to go against the only female of his family with any active authority? That obedience and attachment can work against you. Ether your loyal to a person or the family. Choosing one will easily put you against the other should the decision be made that House Kewadin will no longer be. You can side with an invalid or you can side with what's left of your family. One can do nothing for you while the others can do plenty, including tearing you apart for thinking you could take them by yourself. ;)

OOC it's a majority decision, which I think we reached. Unless I miscounted or something. Saeras is right though, with all the major house members dead with only two (which are on a death clock) left. As well as the house guard and immediate forces destroyed. Their is nothing to stop another house from swooping in to finish the job with much less effort or resources. Even a decent mercenary company or a good assassin could mop things up, leaving no risk to their employers.

P.S. Sense Vicalan is not involved in the shop event, do you guys want me to subDM it to get it out of the way?

There are about 5-6 people leaning towards the company thing, but about half of what was of the "wouldn't mind" level. And seeing it is an event that would sorta derail the premise of the game ("you work for a noble House") I would loathe to run over someone whom are still mostly attached to that idea.

I guess the best would be to actually get some IC time and see how much of House Kewadin that can be salvaged before we do anything drastic :P

Hakk could care less what the family makes of itself. As long as it remains together as a "Family" so to speak.

Also, it might be possible to trick or work around his feelings for his mother and grandmother, but you would have to be really good or fast (or both) so you don't have a seriously angry half-demon on your hands.

Hmm. Casually stalking her other aliases it seems as if she went silent about a week ago.

I'm going to guess a bit of sickness or IRL trouble; those things can really drain any desire to update the boards. Hopefully she'll come back!

In the meanwhile, yeah, I agree that we should probably try and carry on. We can slot her right back in when she comes back.

The focus will be to eliminate the leader of the gang, If we do manage to kill him quickly (and a few other upstarts no doubt) My new frag o plan is to step in and take control of leadership of this gang... Cause after all, killing the leader and taking it over seems to be the drow way, and it provides a further step in the plans of rebuilding the house, forming our own little merc death squad.

Are you all alright with the sudden abrupt commencing of hostilities or should we parley more?

I am making two post but will await what Hakk and Nate have to say on it since its our butts on the line. But my plans are...

A. Draw and shoot leader in face. Declare his impudence for questioning us, draw out the real leader and/or declare our leadership cantidency.

B. Parlay more not giving up our house but trying to get more information about his group than we have and perhaps draw out the real leader... cause honestly Even amongst rough and tumble gangs sitting out in the open as the 'leader' seems bad.

I'm thinking of leaving Vantrag behind to care for the other two and apply whatever mysterious cure she has. It makes sense to keep her hidden until the coast is clear - and it keeps her character a bit out of the way until her player has a chance to check back in!

@Next Step - I'm thinking of paying our new friends a visit. They ought to know *something* about their former employees. With a bit of luck, a decent layout of their house (given their profession and all!) could be nice. When the eventual retribution comes, it could prove lucrative to tag along and then use our intel to path around any dangerous obstacles (like the matrons chambers) and make a beeline for where the loot is kept.

Though our friends probably don't know that much - and attacking the house itself may be too dangerous anyhow - but they may have access to handlers somewhere in the city. Handlers that are currently somewhat poorly protected hand has no idea House Kewadin loyalists will soon kick in their door and "persuade" them to part with their stuff. :P

(I mean, if House Whats-their-face has minor holdings somewhere in the city those may be prime targets for us to appropriate right now. Might even give us a place to sleep!)

Also, I'm thinking, this gives us an IC excuse to couch up a few coins and enlist the aid of that pesky mage decoy most esteemed business partner Vicalan.
