Im dissappointed at the phoenix ruling, I wanted to make a green one called Pyrelight, but stupidity would just be insulting to the original.

You probably wouldn't be playing a Phoenix, as they have an intelligence of 1.
Minimum for a intellegent (ie non-animal intelligence) creature is 3.

They're kinda like fire chickens.

Like the others said, these are not the mythical phoenix that would be referred to elsewhere. These are pets of the firebirds. So when I first introduced the firebird race I had a lot of people confusing them with phoenix so I joked that this was a terrible insult to a firebird since the phoenix were their stupid pets. (The firebirds were inspired by a Russian fairy tale in case anyone cares about origins of these ideas.) Anyways, there are mythical phoenix out there somewhere, but they would be quite confusing to people on Agartha who are used to phoenix being something really different. Sort of like meeting an intelligent, powerful alien parakeet.

Another reason I'm a squirrel is because the townspeople will robot blame Avalon for the goings-on, and it's hard to accociating a squirrel with the school.

We're on the very last events and wrapping up some of the longer ones. Fi's concert/wake thing that she organized at the last minute, resolving the assassination attempt on Jiminy, and getting things wrapped up on Belsayv and the team back at Avalon....oh and finishing the Anderail scene too. As far as I know these are the only things still left to wrap before we can end the day. If there are any other unfinished scenes that need to be wrapped let me know now so I can make sure not to skip them. I think there's a good chance we can wrap it all up in the next two to three days.

As my karma would have it, the next round of online job hunting with the wife just started. Will try to get some news up ASAP.
I feel I must apologize for my slow posting speed, and must explain. My 82-year-old mother is very sick, and I, along with the rest of my family, has been checking in on her. We don't really know what she has just yet, but the doctors think that it may be stomach cancer. She had a few tests run today, and we should know by tomorrow, but things aren't going so well for her. She's already said she's gonna fight, and will fight death himself if she has to, but that's what's happening, and why I've been posting once a day, if even that.
I am so sorry. I know how stressful/overwhelming it is having a parent ill/diagnosed with with a terminal illness. I wish you and your family well during what is no doubt a very trying time. Obviously, what's going on in real life comes first. This is a game and you shouldn't feel guilty about slow participation when you've got all that going on. We're here if you need a distraction (because there will be times when you will) and we'll be patient when you have more important things to deal with. Thanks for letting us know what's going on. *hugs*

Back from the evil test part 1. I think it went okay. And we get to work in teams for the practical on wednesday instead of having to do it solo. Yay! Plus, the worst is already over. I won't say I did a good job with my presentation, but at least I didn't look at my paper and say ummm for the whole thing...there was information in between the ummms. :)

I hate to bring the mood down, but results came back for my mother, and it's official; she has stomach cancer. It's also apparent that she's had it for a while, and it's spread to other parts of her body. We've been informed that there's really not much they can do except attempt to make her as comfortable as possible.
I offer prayers for you and your family. even if you are not religious it does not change my faith, there will be good that comes of the tragedy if know where to look. so I will pray for you.
