Alright by the looks of it we never actually solidly decided anything concretely, but it was close enough (I found the section you mentioned).

In order to make with the fix (since Arthur/Hermes never mentioned how messy their roommate was or anything of the sort, and I'd like that preserved because I think it'll be super awkward when they go into the room that Raelle messed up looking for Ardi).... here we go:

Arthur and Hermes originally had a room alone together, as did Ardiente.

The school decided that these folks would be a good fit today at some point today.

The school then shunted the rooms together, leaving half (third?) as Ardiente's space, and the other bit for Arthur/Hermes.

Ambient temperature in the room is about 323 Kelvin (~50 degrees C, or ~120 degrees F), which should be comfortable for everyone involved.

My last post with Ardiente is definitely being ret-conned away. Sorry for that.

originally I had pictured him sitting down, but it actually fits quite well that he be sensitive about his height, especially when you consider he has wild shape.

I would use a large bird (I think there's eagles and owls, those would both work). Maybe give it fire immunity and 1d6 fire damage on it's attack.

Yes, I can't see any reason why not. I don't actually have stats for them. Extrapolate. It's like a peacock, so find some bird stats that might apply. It only eats oils and burned things, much like firebirds, and has immunity to fire. If it gets old or sick or injured it can regenerate by self-immolating. And phoenix are really, really stupid when they're not familiars.

I think I'm gonna take skill focus: knowledge nobility. It makes sense and I need a prereq. :)

Now, what I would do, since 1) we don't use normal Phoenixes and 2) this is to be a familiar, is reduce the stats to be akin to an Imp or other planar creature that can become a familiar via Improved Familiar, and adjust the SLAs to be inline as well.

Ask and ye shall receive. Sorta lol.

Yeah, that's useful. I'd take away the DR, reduce shroud of flame to a 1d6, reduce the ability scores making sure that Int comes in at a 1...they're known for their exceptional stupidity....should have abilities more in line with an eagle or and owl or some such, take away the SLAs altogether, and remove the once a year limitation on self-resurrection.

For reference, if one can take a Lesser Phoenix via Improved Familiar:

Quasit

Lightning Mephit

All are CR 2/3. Now obviously, if one can just choose a LP at 1st level, the above aren't helpful. Also, those are all choices requiring 7th level or higher to take.

Reading Ardiente and Raelle's stuff makes me sad for some reason and I have no clue why... it's really sweet and stuff, but for some reason when I read it I just got really sad for no reason...
