Why ya so curious as to the rules in a rules light game??
Because, for me to properly reply and react to another's abilities without assuming the results, I like to know what to reply with.
It is, in fact, to tell a better detail, and I for one, prefer to know details rather that gloss over 'em.
Hope that helps. Plus sorta what Tybalt wrote.

Yep. I'm sixteen and people on an online dungeons and dragons board that I've never met in real life are my best friends.
Steve Urkel set the mold for loserdom and I'm pretty sure I broke it. :P
If you had to guess how old I was before now, what would you have said?
I think that I'm actually the youngest player here.

canadia
Canadia (meaning of Canada or after Canada) is a genus of extinct annelid worm present in Burgess Shale type Konservat-Lagerstätte. It is found in strata dating back to the Delamaran stage of the Middle Cambrian around 505 million years ago, during the time of the Cambrian explosion. ...

BTW, Vai's idea of the sortie was: Adon, Anahita, herself, Sadie, Phaeze and Belyu. Fine if Yrrin wants to join too. I have an IC reason ready why she didn't seek out Fei too (because Dalesman's posting time is virtually non-existent). If someone doesn't want to play (for IC or OOC reasons), let me know.

I remember back when people just assumed by default that rules would be used save when both parties decided to handwave something. Is there a reason asking for rules is now seen as running counter to the goals of the game? This ain't a free-form roleplay, after all.
I'm not trying to start nothin', but for my (limited) part, I'll always expect someone to post the exact perimeters of their spell if they want it to affect one of my guys. That's just general sense and courtesy. :P
I'm posting as Vakkler because I realized how crotchety I ended up sounding. ;D

Damini is asking for a rules clarification, that as far as I know, currently has nothing to do with his PCs.
Mel is played by Edward Sobel, while Renkai is played by Death Keeper. I guess I just don't see why he needs to worry about the rules about something he isn't involved. Once it does, then sure, ask away if its truly necessary.

Is this per the spell description and what all?
Curious behind the limits and rules on it.
As always.
As far as I can tell it's way op but that's normal here
100 ft mind read and telepathy
No save.

Renkai must have a hard (read: virtually impossible) time around Ginni what with her trap mind...

Well, Dami does have several NPCs in play in the school from what I understand, and it may be important in that manner.
Plus, he could be asking for future reference... though with Dami's failing memory due to the fact that he is a creature of dust and cloth.... well. Who knows what he'll remember!
;D

Hm... you guys know what is strange?
All spells that read minds are Divination (Renkai inspired this but it's not really directed at him), so are protected with Mind Blank/Barred Mind...
But Barred Mind offers none of the same protection against, for example, Telepathy discipline psionic powers. So the spell Detect Thoughts won't penetrate Mind Blank, but the psionic power Read Thoughts should if we go by RAW. Thoughts on this? Is this merely an oversight when they brought out telepathy?
I'm mostly just bored and musing on things.

Lyn has invoked Psionic/Magic transparency here I think.
So, if it stops one, it will stop the other.
But under normal circumstances, you would be correct. Probably only on a technicality, though, as the psionic rules used are 3PP, and Paizo has not ruled one way or the other.

Sorry for the delay .. I was visiting my dad again. He has not long left to him.
I'm so sorry. :(
*hugs*
I'm glad you were able to spend time with him, and you don't have to apologize for being away from here for stuff like that. Real life first.

Renkai must have a hard (read: virtually impossible) time around Ginni what with her trap mind...
This has already come up in game once. He takes negatives on his saves against her mental powers if he doesn't have immunity or loses immunity if he had it. This is why Ginni tries to avoid letting people contact her mind.

Lyn: I hope whatever kept you busy this weekend was positive and fun. :)
That....would have been nice. :/
I could really do with a lot less drama in my life. :(
(Especially when most of it is much ado about nothing. And has been eating away all of my study time. :/)

Also Lynora - I apologize, I kinda shanghai'd Asha into coming along with Rena - it's entirely possible that Asha may have refused or required some convincing or would've flatout refused to come. Please inform if so. Not going to advance those scenes further without your input.
Reposting this for you Lyn, just in case: sorry about this, had a brain farty moment.

Are we reading the same power description? This doesn't even need to invoke psionics/magic transparency (although it is there in the description. Barred Mind is a psionic power to start with and specifies how it reacts to mind-effecting powers (+8 on saves against) which telepathy is one of. Mind Blank, the magical version uses almost the exact same language and works the same way. It's not an oversight. It's just that neither was intended to block enchantment and most of the telepathy school powers are enchantment not divination. There are other spells/powers that would block telepathy.

No problem, it worked for me. I kinda pictured Rena having a death grip on Asha and Bradley and literally dragging them after her. If either of them had an argument they'd have a hard time getting a word in edgewise. :P
Anyways, I'm going to start working on catching up in the thread now.

Sorry of that wasn't clear up there Lyn: Mind Blank completely blocks magical thought reading (since reading thoughts is divination, not enchantment) with no save required. Just thought it was strange that it didn't do the same for psionics (as reading minds in psionics is enchantment).
As I said, was more of a musing thing anyway.

I think it's a bit weirder that reading minds magically is considered divination....:)

No no, FCD, as Mkdog, clearly can't see, or think about any other possibility why I would ask for details on the abilities players (and the occasional NPC), you're clearly being far too creative and open minded in your response here.
Just return to your regularly scheduled reading posts that only involve your own character(s) and ignore everyone else's posts, since, per his logic, out if sight out of mind, right?
:makes a face:
Seriously, Monkdog? You can't think of why I might be curious about another person's abilities in a group, shared activity?
NOTE: Scathing sarcasm attempted and semi-subtle attempts at humor while lightly mimicking original post by 'He Who Can't Seem To Spell Names'.

You'd think spells like Mind Blank would be pretty much on every student by now, given how many people seem to have mind reading capabilities. XD
Vai actually has a pet (construct) which grants Mind Blank when it's near her. It's own loan to Mel though (cause they are roomies).
