Ok, as best I can decipher it is a found spellbook so no scribing costs. You have the book and can retry copying it. We can say you do it on the trip back to town. I will add the 4 spells to your chronicle to record you adding them.

What I've read is that there's no set time we have to end the scenario at. For example, if one of us had a disease or negative condition that required dealing with, you could extend it as long as necessary.
