Blax-9 moves to the end of the corridor and opens the door.

In space, no one can hear you scream

As Val'nor and Lasereater are distracted by the valet, and Goro knocks around the ruined scaffolding, Blax-9 marches steadily down the corridor and hits the door switch. The door hisses open, revealing the bridge of the Royal Venture.

Although the front of this wide bridge has been crumpled, the rest of the room is in good repair. The nearly shattered forward viewport shows nothing but dirt and rock, with a few tough roots snaking in through the cracks. An opulent captain’s chair sits atop a dais, and positions for the pilot, science officer, and gunner all seem ready for use. A complicated computer system to the right of the captain’s chair has been carefully disassembled, with its pieces around it, neatly labeled as though from an archaeological dig. Two other doors lead out to the west and north.

Two Azlanti troopers hunker in cover behind work stations, rifles at the ready. A third stands, proud and defiant, by the captain's chair. She wears distinctive emerald-hued high-tech armor. An aeon stone is embedded in the faceplate of her helmet, looking like a menacing cyclopean eye.

"Attack!" she orders in Azlanti, her voice buzzing through the voice transmitter.

The two troopers are outfitted like the others you have encountered: ceremonial plate armor in Azlanti styling, pacification rifle and tactical knife.

Sharu wears Aeon Guard Battle Dress, the distinctive emerald-tinted armor of the Aeon Guard. It is fit for a human woman. The armor's helmet is embedded with a clear spindle aeon stone and has a targeting computer upgrade. Her sword is etched with the name 'Inevitable Downfall', and is a called dispelling carbon steel curve blade. She also carried a motion detection badge and Aeon Guard assault rifle.

Lastly, she had on her body two datapads. One is a modern computer, but the other is a large, heavy ancient thing.

With some work, Blax-9 can get the helmet to fit, but would not gain any benefit without wearing the entire suit, as it is an integrated unit.

The AI valet sneers at Lasereater but, muted, cannot otherwise respond.

Val'nor has no trouble accessing Sharu's personal device. In her files, you find mission logs that verify most of what you learned from the computer in the Azlanti garrison back at Madelon's Landing (link here for reference). Additionally, you learn that Sharu discovered the datapad of Parept Ameondria among the wreckage of the Royal Venture, but she was having trouble breaking through its security without a more powerful computer or specialist on hand.

She also details the fate of Meico and Cedona: both were taken, along with the rune drive, to a moon called Gulta within the Azlanti Star Empire. Her account is tainted with bigoted language against the shirren and android prisoners, but it is clear their knowledge of the rune drive was enough to keep them alive -- for the moment.

Much like Sharu, Val'nor struggles with the Parept's ancient datapad. The computer is powerful and has complex security. Val'nor has trouble making sense of the archaic software language. At one point, he takes a wrong path and the datapad actually emits a frequency that makes his head hurt.
