Round Five
Both ships' science officers balance out shields.
Goro puts the Loreseeker through the same maneuver, again. This time, the Azlantis anticipate it and move to open up range between you. The Barazad's pilot over-corrects and they end up not gaining enough distance before Goro turns your ship around.
Goro keeps you on their port side, and their gunner hits but only grazes your starboard shields. Their Aeon torpedo launches but flies wide off course.
Blax-9 blasts through their forward shields and Lasereater follows up. Secondary explosions and smoke burst from their engineering section.

Round Six
Val'nor balances your shield energy. As the Barazad comes about, their engineer manages to get their power core patched.
The Barazad drives in at full speed, making a dangerously close pass. Goro jinks the Loreseeker about, keeping the enemy ship at a high aspect.
The Azlanti fire as they zoom past. Their coilgun shreds your aft shields and critically damages your engines. Fortunately, their torpedo misses by a few spans.
Exposed by their aggressive maneuver, Blax-9 and Lasereater have an easy target. They focus attacks, tearing through the Barazad's meager remaining shields. The impacts explode along their hull, flickering with electric shorts and secondary bursts.
The Barazad's engines fail and it drifts...

Val'nor makes a scan of the Barazad debris. Most of it is useless parts, but you pick out a few intact components that could be repurposed. The light aeon torpedo launcher is in recoverable condition. Another piece appears to be the Azlanti ship's transponder.
After collecting the pieces, you descend back into the atmosphere and set down just outside Madelon's Landing. The colonists gather to greet you with cheers, smiles and oaths of gratitude. Sarigar joins you, weakly holding himself up with a long piece of metal from Aibretta's shop. Madelon comes over and shakes each of your hands vigorously. "Praise the Wealthy Father! You've saved our people and the colony."
Congrats on completing the first part: The Reach of Empire! You still have the free Tier 3 upgrade pending, and can roll in the torpedo launcher at no BP cost if you desire. Any other downtime activities you desire to do are in your court...
EDIT: Since you are now level 4, the colony can service upgrades for the Loreseeker to Tier 4!

Val'nor gazes at the transponder and says "I bet me and Lazer could wire that in to the Loreseeker's systems, and they wouldn't know we weren't one of their ships."
Maybe swap the Coil gun for the Torp launcher? Other than that, I'll leave what we modify on the ship up to you guys.
Blax-9
Blax-9 shrugs at Val'nor, 'Yeah, that could be fun. We would still get to kill 'em, right?"
He pointedly ignores Madelon and the colonists. He growls as he walks through the crowd, "We ain't no heros."
Blax-9 then wanders to the nearest weapons market to see what is on sale.

Goro will ask the group "My friend, Cedona, has been taken along with your friend, Meico, I would like to accompany you all until we have been able to save them both. And, if we are unable to save them, than avenge them"
GM Space Nomad
Madelon chuckles at Lasereater and nods, "I've given you a boon of credits and we're upgrading your ship for you... but, I'll see if I can find something special."
Blax-9 walks off, but he finds the shopping opportunities in the small colony to be very limited. Max Item Level 4th
Sarigar *GM*
Sarigar stands nearly eye-level with Goro, and he meets his gaze directly. "On behalf of Nomad Section and the Starfinders, thank you for your assistance. You are welcome to join us as we go to rescue Meico and your friend, Cedona." He extends his remaining hand.
To the group, he adds, "Nomads, it will take Aibretta and the colonists a couple weeks to repair, retrofit and upgrade the Loreseeker. I will research our path forward -- I believe Val'nor's idea of using the Azlanti transponder has real merit -- and heal up." He glances at the stump of his right arm. "I suggest you keep yourselves gainfully occupied and get ready for the coming fight."

While the colonists led by Aibretta are working on the Loreseeker, Val'nor uses the opportunity to track down the hobgar stowaway. He finally locates it in a nook behind a wall panel in the tech lab. The tiny monkey has nested there with a pair of younglings. It chitters and chatters angrily, taking a defensive posture over its family.

Val'nor realizes Sarigar will need a prosthetic or cybernetic limb, of which the latter is unobtainable at the colony. With the materials on hand, he could patch together a functional prosthetic using Aibretta's workshop.

Val'nor spends a fair chunk of his downtime helping the colonists rebuild. Several modules of Madelon's Landing took damage from the Azlanti occupation and all of the settlement's defenses against native pests were neutralized. He works hard but realizes the task requires more hands than he has available.

He thinks about it and decides its not safe to leave them there, and sets about to try and capture/contain them. He leaves some rations nearby, so they won't run off, and goes back to the junkyard, ahem, I mean the salvage facility, to see if he can find or create a crate or some other container. If he strikes out there he will look through the azlanti bunker (they seem like the types to cage things up)

Then he'll check in with the town folk to see if they would shoot him for relocating the creatures nearby. Also what food do the creatures like. He'll then go about rigging a trap, and he'll use some bait to lure the things from their spot and into the crate. If he can get the adult(s), then he'll work on moving the young ones (gently) out of the ship... Whew!

Hobgars are more like monkeys than anything else (Image here.). They are native to Nakondis. The colonists find them to be a bit a nuisance but they are relatively intelligent animals and friendly enough.
Val'nor finds a suitable crate easily enough. Aibretta tells him that the hobgars are omnivorous, but they find conductive metals delicious -- part of the reason they are such a nuisance is their penchant for chewing on electronics and conduit. When examining around the nest on the Loreseeker, Val'nor notes some bite marks and chewed up corners, but no significant damage (as of yet).
Aibretta suggests he help get the colony's hobgar trap back up and running ASAP (see below).
*
During the colony reconstruction, Goro puts his size and strength to good use lifting and shifting heavy objects. A good amount of time is spent gutting the Azlanti garrison, which Madelon has decided to repurpose into a town hall and recreation center for the colony.
Val'nor, along with the help of a grumbling Blax-9, helps rebuild the town's hobgar trap: a tall metal pole that carries an electrical wire up its center, sparking from a plate in a specially designed cage at the top.
The sparking plate attracts hobgars from elsewhere in the settlement; they can enter the cage, but they can’t get back out without bypassing the lock mechanism. Captivity often enrages the hobgars, but the pole is tall enough that they can’t shock anyone below with their electric jolts. Once the cage is full of a dozen or so hobgars, the colonists airlift the cage to a distant part of the forest and set the hobgars free.
Val'nor
Val'nor goes attempts to recreate the towns trap out of the scraps he can find. Since he has helped rebuild one, it shouldn't be too tough to build another one like it. He'll use it in the ship to trap the creatures there.
