No problem, for Cass it only costs 1957 gp 5 sp to make (due to her slight bonus to crafting costs). Couple of days, easy-peasy.

Cass will also make for herself a headband of vast intelligence +2, which will be a big boon for her spellcasting and her knowledge skills.

We can also use my captured ship (which has been refitting for a while now). I spent my previous set of group funds toward cleaning up the ship and repairing it.

We can use it to haul some of the new colonists, and some of the building materials and tools, so we can start quickly once we pacify the island.

Im terrible with the cost of creation math. To enchant Percy's pike with say Thundering on his pike? If we are to go exploring an isle to find out what happened to the previous colony i have a feeling that well, there will be fighting. Everyone check your armor, lets get upgrades if we can afford it.

A +1 boarding pike of repelling is normally a fixed item: It comes with the specific bonuses it has, and that's it.

If the DM allows, Cass could improve it by paying the price difference between its initial cost and the cost of various upgrades. Thundering is normally a +1 modifier, and taking a +1 weapon to +2 costs 6,000 gp. With Cass's discounts this would be 2,700 gp and 6 days.

Armor improvements are a good idea. Percy's AC is, to put it frankly, garbage for a front-line fighter. The armored coat's advantage of donning or doffing it quickly isn't really worth the trade-off of only a +4 AC with the speed penalty of medium armor (although Percy at least doesn't have to worry about the speed thanks to his Armor Training). As a fighter with no archetypes, Percy has a huge advantage in wearing medium or heavy armor. At this level, heavy armor doesn't even slow him down, and he reduces the armor check penalty by 2. This means there are really two good ways to go.
* Adamantine agile breastplate: Thanks to the reduction in armor check penalty, this only gives a -1 penalty to many skills, and no reduction to Acrobatics or Climb. (At level 11, Percy would have no armor check penalty from it.) It would give Percy DR 2/–. It's expensive: 10,400 gp, and Cass can't reduce that because that's just for the materials.
* Masterwork full plate: This is really what high level fighters should be wearing (better if it's magical and adamantine—I played a fighter/rogue in a War of the Crown AP who had +5 adamantine full plate). 1,650 gp. If you are really worried about being unable to swim in it (remember, your armor training reduces the armor check penalty already, and we are high enough level to have plenty of water breathing options), you can get an armiger's panoply, which basically lets you insta-don or doff it 3 times per day. The panoply would cost 3,240 gp and 8 days for Cass to make, but really I think it's unnecessary with all of our water magic.

Since the pike is a two-handed weapon, Percy might consider getting the feats Shield Focus and Shield Brace, and a masterwork darkwood heavy shield: +2 AC, no armor check penalty, and 257 gp (super-cheap), which would allow him to use a shield while wielding a two-handed pole or spear weapon. This would let him use the pike and still have the advantage of a shield improving his AC.

None of this really fits with the image of the swashbuckling pirate, though. If your aesthetic image of the character is important, you should buy an adamantine armored coat (10,050 gp) and have Cass start magicking that up. Its AC isn't as good as the breastplate or full plate, but you get the aesthetic of just having a plated jacket that you can toss on or off, and you still get DR 2/–. If you don't want a shield, you should consider getting the Dodge feat as well. You can take the Advanced Armor Training feat to gain the Armor Specialization option, which gives you +¼ your fighter level to the armor's bonus, so that will help to mitigate somewhat its relatively low AC.

As a final note, your sheet says you're still lugging around a chain shirt and a heavy wooden shield. If you ain't usin' 'em, sell 'em or give 'em to a crew member.

well derp me, I also have a +1 buccaneers breastplate with its handy walking on water abilty, i think i was only wearing the armored coat for that pesky under the water adventure we did and I never switched it back out for what i was wearing >.< good catch!

Yeah, the buccaneer's breastplate is not that great because it forces you to the surface! When we are swimming around underwater we definitely don't want that!

I figured it was somewhat useful most of the time considering their profession, going overboard doenst have the same scare now but you are right. I'll look into the armors :)

If you're really worried about swimming in full plate, the buoyant property costs only 900 gp and 2 days for Cass to add to a suit of magic full plate. No penalty to swim checks.

I don't have a problem with adding more enchantments to it. It's a +1 boarding pike with Woodshape as its enchantment. You can add another.

I would say no if it were another enchantment that effected it's size though.

I'm already wearing +1 Deathless (Effective +2) Mithril chain shirt. Buying the Necklace of Fireballs makes more sense to Ashlei right now...and its just fun!

My current AC is 24 in most cases which isn't great for 9th level, but not bad either. My next focus when leveling will definitely be increasing AC and upping the magic in my +1 Starknife too when I can afford it/find the right stuff to do it with.

I also wouldn't mind getting another Wasp Nest of Swarming when we get any excess money and time too. (Its only 500gp cost for creation before any of Cassies discounts!)

Looks like the Phylactery of Positive Channeling will have to wait until next level when I can provide the construction requirement (creator must be a 10th-level cleric)

Ring of Protected Life might be good though. Increase my channel range by 5ft, +1 to the number of people I can exclude with selective channeling, and best of all channel as a swift action once per day.

That should be easy enough...we are about to take on an unexplored island so we can make it our new base. We have been quickly recruiting (successfully so far) for colonists. Wouldn't be much of a stretch to include explorers in the mix. Does your character have any 'Know History' or similar to help explore ancient Cyclopean ruins?
