As it has with me. But I do not like to be "that GM", so I'm trying to find a way to restart this campaign with renewed vigor and interest.

Tell me something--what would you guys like to change about this game? First thing I intend to do is sweep up the current mess and get everyone back in their respective threads. In fact, I can try to get that post up before I leave. Then you can both roleplay your plans for the future. After all, the heroes now know some pretty damning knowledge, and the villains now have some pretty powerful advantages. You both have a lot of work to do.
How does that sound? And what might you like to hand-wavingly change about the game during such a cinematic event?
I think things were progressing very well there. Whenever the player (and DM) participation can keep up I think things go pretty well. I do think that whole scenario probably took longer than necessary, but that was just as likely due to poor preparation than anything else.
All in all, I think you're doing a good job, DM-Kal. I think steady posting from you (and moving things along if PC's are slow to act) will get things humming again.

With the need to replace several players - not sure how many of the heroes are still around - probably hand-wave/cinematize the slaying of the vampire, freeing Crystal from its grasp, and both groups somehow making their way back to the city without killing one another.
Yeah. I feel like getting back to our own threads asap would be the best way to revitalize things.

Since the teams are 4 and 3 right now, I'll open recruitment for another hero (or maybe NPC a paladin...) and call it good.

She's not really on the best of terms with her fellow heroes, but that's something that can be RP'd to nicety. She's gotta go find Trilby though...

Sadly, I'm gonna be gone at a convention all weekend starting tomorrow. I'll be ready to get going again when I get back (after a bit of recovery lol).

I conquered France! But it wasn't as cool as Napoleon made it out to be, so I gave it back.
Anyway, I've returned from abroad. France is surprisingly internet-deficient. I'll get a post up tomorrow.
