I read the spell to make sure. It's not negative energy damage or anything (though I think it probably should be).
So, how do we handle the fact that the spell flutters? Does the vampire react to that?
The spell didn't flutter...it worked as advertised, since it isn't negative energy damage (though it should be).
The spell succeeds, unless you have evidence to the contrary.

I am okay with the spell working, tho I will admit I was confused a bit.
But I did look it up and found this:
"Actually, there is something that suggests that Vampiric Touch is affected by Death Ward, although it might simply be the result of poor editing.
In Ultimate Magic, under the description for the Thanatopic Spell (Metamagic) feat, it gives the example of applying the Thanatopic Spell feat to Vampiric Touch, allowing it to affect someone protected by Death Ward. - Ultimate Magic p.157
The example is pretty clear, so either the Vampiric Touch spell from the Core Rulebook, or the Thanatopic Spell feat from Ultimate Magic could use some errata to clarify this"
So I'm just thinking here... the spell could work, but maybe the vampire reacts... odd to it, considering my circumstances?
Doesn't the spell say target: living creature touched?
I actually overlooked this. I was looking for the type of damage. Sarcon is right, and the attack fails.
An entire pig? Tsk, you are not using the City's tax money on that. They could get the, objectively wrong, perception that we are using their taxes on needless partying.

You lads never cease to shock my understanding of this world. For a few days, I see little to no posting in this game and then I turn away from the screen for a single night, and suddenly there is 14 updates.

Melaphi 28 damage (18 damage, 65 taken via life link, 55 self healed)
Sarcon 42 damage = 18/60
Fate Full hp via life link
Marcello 19 damage = 20/39
Victor 3 damage = 40/40
Feel free to go back and check my math...I'd love to be wrong about some of this.
I thought life link doesnt work unless you are missing at least 5? It wouldnt be able to top me off of that last hit point.
EDIT: Never mind, found what I missed. 40/41 it is.

I can't see where and when I got cut by something that went over my AC...
Not saying it isn't possible, not at all. I can easily have missed it.
But in order to keep me healthy, I should mention that none of the fire have damaged me, the vampiric touch fizzled and my AC on 25 (21 when lying down) has not been manhandled my knowledge... but just point out where and I will write the damage.

You rolled 7 for reflex. But if you're immune to fire then it's a moot point.

Yes. Melaphi healed him for 10 before he severed the life link.
I cancelled the life link with Garroth the same round he and I took fire damage from the rays - before any life ticked over between us.
That should still put me at 18 damage taken, rather than the 13 I've got recorded. Did you really get beat up for 45 damage Feth over those several rounds? That seems to be correct on my counting of it, but since I couldn't see what damage you were taking I don't have any way to confirm. Only other life link ticks would have been Fate and Victor once each.
I'd need to go back again to be sure, but I think the damage count on Garroth is to high.
