True, but as I had in mind with Morrigan-> Jarx would due to his non-stable mind "kind" of confuse him as his own ("due to coldness and the extreme temparature his scales are white") etc

That sounds neat especially since there's an amnesia element to play with and I totally have something evil in mind (thanks for that toy Jarx)

What happens if a red and a white scaled Kobold mate? Can they even do that?

I think I forgot to make survival a class skill, I will change that now... Winter is comming...

Liberty's Edge

Profile made. Still some finishing touches... Equipment etc. Reading and researching background for history to post later tonight, or tomorrow. I finally figured out how to add Aasimar as a race option (Midgard access was messing me up somehow), so re-posted the character crunch. Only major change was a +2 to INT from the Aasimar Ability.

Grand Lodge

2 people marked this as a favorite.

You'd probably either get a red or a white clutch, or maybe a mixture of the two. Maybe even a pink, however bad that would be

noooo.... pink kobolds.....

Pink-scaled kobolds would have no life, b~@~!es of the kobold world.

Pink kobolds.... well that would be interesting!

"Daddy Jarx is tuning your tires tonight!"

Grand Lodge

<.< The kobolds can come live in the lizardfolk district, or should I refer to it as the scaley-kind district?

And Beads will just get himself a dark corner and have lots of cobwebs... //^^\\

If you haven't start looking at the google doc and adding bits and pieces to tie you to your team.

For a few of you I made suggestions.

There's also an interaction chart fill it in top down

Not that Kingdom Roles matters for a while yet, but:

Seems to me like there are 9 mandatory roles (that is roles that we get penalties for not filling) and with Kejal and Evan probably both going for ruler that means there should probably be no more than 2 people filling the roles without penalties. Or do we get to use cohorts/NPCS to fill any roles that characters doesn't want to fill? There is also a chart in the google doc where people can add what role(s) they prefer to fill.

Grand Lodge

I'd like to put my hat in for master assassin. Traitors of the kingdom will be met by a ceremonial, obsidian greataxe!

Random citizen #1: There goes Thrick, he is the royal headsman.
Random Citizen #2: how do you know that? The headsman wears a hood don't he?
Random Citizen #1: True, he does do that...but the scales and the tail is a bit of a give-away...

Grand Lodge

That nearly made me spit out my coffee, good sir.

Heh, if you like the show, don't applaud, just throw money.
I'm here all week.

Grand Lodge

But being 7ft tall may also be a dead giveaway when Thrick is involved. He's a tower of muscle and sinew.

Thats why I will stick to SpyMaster

The less they know what I do and why i do it, the better.

Grand Lodge

"Who's there! Oh, just a spider.....Now lets get back to our highly illegal business, boys."

I just noticed that pretty much everyone in "Team Love" have been estranged from their family in one way or another. Gideon: How did you separate from them? All of a sudden we have hobgoblins, avariel, orcs and even the ruling family of brevoy all banding together to take us out... I guess we have something to prove ㋡

It's my job to know... and it might be lucrative ;)

I have to ask, do you want to ride on Thrick's back while we're adventuring? I could use a little weight to keep up my training regimen whilst we're out in the wilds.

Tsk, don't limit yourself, buy Beads a pony, then carry the pony.

Grand Lodge

I'll bench press the entire party!

Hmmm. Over head view of terrain... dont carry a lot of things. Sure. Could be fun. You can have a spider hat!

Also. Beads is not a law enforcer of any kind. He just wants to know things and what goes on in the kingdom //^^\\

Lightweight, let me go get these anchor chains to drape around you first...

@GM_Solspiral: Should the party have grouped up before the game starts? If so how long have we been together? We have all joined Liberty's Edge right?

If we have been together for a while we could rp out what have happened in that time in here (or agree on what happened I suppose).

Grand Lodge

I could manage that in my sleep! Include the anchors as well.

Ah, but can you do it...DRUNK?

Grand Lodge

Who said I was sober?

Basically group into 2 groups having previously known each other, I'll be giving you ample reasons to coordinate yet remain in your own groups. I'll also be sending you all some notes on potential motivations and bits to add to back story throughout the week.

Both groups are at least loosely affiliated with Liberty's edge but the pathfinder society isn't going to be a big factor for a little while.

It would be wise to make sure someone in each group has the following covered:

Perception (even more than normal)
Survival (Winter is coming)
All the Knowledges but in particular Nobility and Engineering can be surprisingly important.
Profession Soldier or Knowledge Tactics (this is important to Mass combat)
Sense Motive
Diplomacy
Ride (mounts speed up Hexploration a lot)
Stealth
Disable Device (not just traps but also siege weapons for the flexible saboteur)

Huh, at least Jarx is covering almost all of them outside Cha-based skills (What does Knowledge:Tactics represent? :P New skill for me lawl)

Grand Lodge

I can pick up profession soldier if no one else in team rock and roll wants to.

Any idaa if I should keep my Heal skill (1 rank) up or take it off? I could maybe use it for Ride but a bit unsure, since our healing is restricted (until I gain "Craft Wands") and for later having someone even with 1 rank or couple ranks in "Heal" till later levels could be useful

Grand Lodge

I can always carry you too.

For Team Love, here's our current situation :) We're mostly covered, except for Survival (kinda weak), Knowledge (History) and Knowledge (Engineering)... We don't have Profession (Soldier) either, or Knowledge (Tactics), so I'd say our situation isn't the best in terms of siege. As we level up we might always end up covering it... I know Reafil will invest something in Nobility, for example, and I bet Wikiwik (as a Gungineer) will end up covering our engineering part etc...

I will probably change out Religion for Tactics if that is OK with the GM (it didn't show up as an option so I forgot about it).

Liberty's Edge

I might go ahead and dip into fighter at level 2
Heavy armor, feat, and survival, climb, swim as class skills.

Ok, if GM approves, I will change religion to tactics and dungeoneering to engineering. I also slightly changed my skill rank allocation. I wish there was a way to increase skill points per level. let me check the feats :)

EDIT: Oh well, no such luck. Headband of Intellect it is then :) How many fighters you know that go for that before the belt of Str/Dex?

You could swap out for the Lore Warden archetype if you wanted to? It seems like it could fit your background. I'm not really worried about it, though, so definitely don't do it if you're happier with Weapon Master.

Basically Knowledge tactics (which is unique to my games) and Prof solider are options that can help general soliders. It's far from critical now but around book 2-3 you will likely start getting into some mass combat. So you have some levels before it's mission critical.

I just figured Prof is keyed off of Wisdom, Know-edges are keyed off of Int so it's a second option. I suppose the difference it the guy who leads in the trenches with his men has profession soldier the one who leads from behind the lines is a knowledge tactics type general.

Liberty's Edge

Gideon's backstory is now added to his profile. I'm sure I'll add to it as time goes, but it should get me into the character.

@Kejal: I used you for part of the backstory, though i didn't mention you by name. If that doesn't work for you, I can make some adjustments and you could just be another Avariel that I came across in service to the Edge.

Because I'm eager to kick off I'm starting a thread Monday with an opening post and opportunities to mingle with each other and NPCs that may be useful to know later.

Official full game play starts next Saturday with a series of quick posts (Saturday- Q&A to Sunday starting on the road.)

I may be a little spotty this week as I am planning to move on Wednesday, but it should be resolved before the game starts proper on Saturday.

@Gideon - That's totally good with me, I liked it a lot. I have no idea how Kejal will feel about you, yet, though.

GM, you cool with the slight changes I made in skills?

If we have already teamed up that changes things. I guess we need to work into our backstories how we all met then. What location do we start at? We could all meet on the way there I suppose. I'll try to figure out where I might have met the others.

Seems like no one want the councilor position. I think that's quite an important position. Is it possible to fill it with an NPC/Cohort? We only have 3 people focused on cha/wis and with two looking at ruler filling then 4 positions will be hard. Maybe someone with cha or wis as a secondary stat can fill it? Diplomat is anoter unfilled position. Would any of the high int guys consider that? Are there disadvantages to having a goblin, spiderling, kobold or similar as diplomat? There seems to be a lot contention for Marshal which is natural since we got a lot of dex focused characters and there are very few such position.

Evan will pick up engineering and nobility and ride. I think everyone needs survival soonish. At least it can be used untrained and we got a few high wis guys. Similar for ride, we got a few high dex people, if we are going to use ride everone needs to pick it up or it won't have much effect, except for Kejal which is already really fast.

Yeeeeees. Let the thief be your diplomat. Send him to other kingdoms. Into other castles. I like this idea
//^^\\

I moved a point into Engineering and one into Nobility by moving fc and religion. Survival and Ride will have to wait for next level. Nave should also be listed for skills, at least perception/Survival/Sense Motive.

Skill wise. By level 4 all my knowledges will be at 10. But thats that. Not going to put more into them after that. 10 i think is a solid number :) though the extra knowledge messes with my skill point math... :P
