I know we handed off the adamantine hammer to Llewellyn for the fight against the bone golem. Wasn't aware he passed it back to you, since you still have the adamantine sword.

Clearly someone needs to be carrying it. Even just as treasure, it's too valuable to leave behind.

Llewellyn can have the small one lol

Turns going to be very simple drop sword for actions sake, Run in, attack. Unfortunately won't be until 10 ish tonight. Sorry to hold things up

Maybe at some point if we survive we can sell off all this lewt and buy ourselves some new gear.

But in the meanwhile, don't forget Lewellyn's haste and Inspire Courage abilities! +3 to hit and +2 damage does a lot especially on a full attack.

Um, GM, I don't want to make a super big deal about it, but are you sure Samuel missed his shot? Sure, the giant was prone, but I think you're forgetting that Samuel targets a foe's touch AC when he's within the first range increment.

I don't think it's that hard to hit a giant's touch AC, prone or not.

Yep, I forgot it was touch AC.

I mess the rules up quite often, rules are not something I'm the best with. Don't hesitate to correct me when I make a mistake.

This fight could take a long time if the enemy stays invisible and just hides. She's going to be unable to attack for seven rounds while the Swine hex affects her (unless she has other spells).

I have a scroll of see invisibility that I'll be using next round, so if she just turned invisible and took off, we'll know pretty fast.

My general philosophy of GMing is that the players are (generally speaking) supposed to be heroes, so it's good to let them pull of fun things every now and again even if it breaks the rules.

Don't (always) let the rules kill the fun.

I lead with this so that should I accidentally kill a character, you'll hate me less? :D

... Just kidding, of course. I'm here to collaboratively tell a story with you all. I will always put the story before mechanics (in your favor).

Okay, wow. That cookbook is awesome. The free metamagic added to one of my spells with a very attainable Alchemy check? That's fantastic, and they're useful metamagics! Ectoplasmic spell if we're going up against more incorporeal creatures, or Persistent spell if I really need to punch a spell through someone's saves? Rime and Sickening could be useful too in certain circumstances.

I was hopeful that Callix could augment her spells too, but it says arcane caster. :(

Well, someone else can have the broom if it turns out to be a broom of flying. Thematic as it is, I already can fly so someone else needs a cool magic item.

I totally forgot the wand of spider climb. If someone wants to be hit with the spell, I can definitely say that Letitia would have hit them with it before jumping off the cliff.

Question for the peanut gallery, which of these do you think will be more useful?

1. Learn Blazing Rondo (a better haste) and swap Haste out for Arcane Concordance. Llewellyn would probably use Blazing Rondo as a move action and good hope as a standard action for most fights on round 1.
2. Learn the Song of Sarkoris and nova all of Llewellyn's bardic performance rounds to keep that and inspire courage up with Virtuoso Performance (Would probably need to use exquisite accompaniment although that means 2 rounds of just buffing).

Song of Sarkoris (Oratory, Sing):

Source Blood of the Ancients pg. 31
You recite inspirational lines from this epic poem commemorating the final stand at Storasta, keeping defiance alive even in the face of certain death.

Prerequisite: Perform (oratory) or Perform (sing) 10 ranks.

Cost: Feat or 4th-level bard spell known.

Effect: When you complete the performance, all allies within 30 feet gain an attack of opportunity when reduced to negative hit points, or whenever a foe deals hit point damage equal to or greater than its Hit Dice, for the duration of the performance. The attack of opportunity can be made against any enemy within reach; it does not have to be against the source of the damage, and does not count toward your allies’ maximum attacks of opportunity per round. This attack of opportunity is resolved prior to the enemy’s attack, but the triggering attack is still resolved even if the enemy is killed or incapacitated.

Use: 2 bardic performance rounds per round.

Action: 1 full round.

I don't love Blazing Rondo, because while it is Hast-y, you can't inspire courage at the same time - and I'm a big believer in having a competence bonus to attack and damage that scales with your level. (Of course, I'm also a divine caster, so Concordance isn't a big help for me).

So, I kind of like door #2 - especially since it still lets you stack Good Hope on your performance, and that the ability to nova when needed also just gives you additional flexibility and options, depending on what's going on.

Also, you could potentially work with Ariadna to craft an item that can do one of Virtuoso or Exquisite to reduce the hit to the action economy.

I have a personal grudge against Leadership, however, I didn't create this game and recruit you so I don't want to change the direction that your previous GM implemented, so if you had it then than that is fine with me. Please continue in that direction. I'm all for maximum fun.

Speaking of action economy, a lesser metamagic rod of quicken would be amazing, but also super expensive. Llewellyn could cast haste, good hope and inspire in one round with that combo.

A cheaper option might be to get a Singing Steel weapon or piece of armor. That would allow him to put up inspire and attack in one round. Or to cast a spell, move and put inspire up.

Steel, Singing:

Source PPZO94102

This lustrous golden metal emits beautiful bell-like tones when struck. An alloy of gold and mithral, singing steel was originally created by the elves.

A weapon made of singing steel counts as alchemical silver for all purposes, including the –1 penalty on damage rolls with singing steel weapons. Most armor made of singing steel is treated as one category lighter (heavy armors are treated as medium, and medium armors are treated as light, but light armors are still treated as light). The armor or shield’s arcane spell failure chance is reduced by 5%, its maximum Dexterity bonus is increased by 1, and its armor check penalty is reduced by 1 (to a minimum of 0).

When wielding a singing steel weapon, shield, or item weighing at least 5 pounds, or wearing medium or heavy singing steel armor, the wielder or wearer can strike the singing steel as part of beginning a bardic performance. If the wielder can normally start a bardic performance as a standard action, he can do so as a move action instead. If the wielder can normally start a bardic performance as a move action, he can do so as a swift action instead. This ability does not function in the area of a silence spell or similar effect. After using the singing steel in this fashion, the steel must be carefully brushed to remove any lingering vibrations, a process that takes 10 minutes.

Singing steel items are always masterwork; this cost is included in the price. Singing steel has 20 hp per inch of thickness and hardness 10. Although formed partially from mithral, singing steel items weigh as much as their normal counterparts.

Type of Item Price Modifier
Light armor +750 gp
Medium armor +9,000 gp
Heavy armor +12,000 gp
Shield +7,000 gp
Weapon +6,000 gp
Other items +600 gp/lb.

Certainly cheaper than a Quicken Rod. (The medium armour counting as light in the same way as mithral is also not terrible).

Hey guys

Just finished with the gameplay thread. Wow, awesome RP! Love to see such great interaction!

So, if you'll have me....

I don't have any opposition to the way that the GM Red Sun ran things. I'll still roll initiative and character saves and I'll be stealing his excellent combat status tracker.

Letitia, as for your Leadership feat, I'll go with GM red Sun's ruling here: [url=https://paizo.com/campaigns/RedSunsReignOfWinter/discussion&page=16#760[/url]

Welcome GM Spazmodeus!

Thanks for stepping up to give these guys a permanent GM! They are a fun bunch and I think you'll have a great time here.

I am still waiting on two players to finish leveling up to ten, but they have the keys they're ready to transition to the next book. It's a great time to swap in and take over.

With the Thanksgiving weekend , might be a day or so for any updates to characters to be finished.

Haven't heard from the players though. Any objections to my taking over from Shadowlord? I'd like a positive consensus before making any switch over official.
