By the damage of his lighting bolt, he should be CL 5, so 5 rounds summon unless he has some weird stuff.

I will wait to see how that AoO goes before deciding if shooting the witch or an elemental.

I was thinking that he would be able to avoid the AoO by moving diagonally to the northwest. the corner is odd, but those spaces should still be adjacent. looking at the map again, though, I can see how that would look unlikely. I will have him roll an acrobatics check instead, and move 15 feet. if the roll is not high enough, I will let Callix roll the AoO as part of her next post.

yeah, unfortunately the big boss of book one has higher than a 13 AC :D

don't forget to make an acrobatics check to get around the elemental. it has pretty garbage CMD, but a failure would make a huge difference here

forget i said anything. i forgot just how garbage their CMD is. even a roll of a 1 will be enough for you to get past a single elemental since you aren't going through his space or provoking multiple enemies this time.

I think I got things backwards in my mind. i was thinking you could take 10 on spellcraft to ID objects but not for learning spells, which is backwards. based on this thread and the linked comment from a dev:

looks like because oyu have to concentrate on detect magic while ID'ing an item you cannot take 10 which was an intentional decision, but scribing spells into a spellbook (which uses the same checks as a witch) should be fine to take 10 on.

so go ahead and assume 16 hours of work (assuming the group is fine spending a full 24 hours sitting in the tower) to copy 16 levels worth of spells. if the group wants to move on after a rest, you might get fewer spells.

Today was my last holidays day, and I spared some of the time to update our loot sheet.

I will need some help from GM Red with:
- what type is the bag of holding?
- what is the value of Radosek's cauldron?

There are many useful stuff you probably want to pick up, or at least carry until we find where to sell it. Please, add your name in column G (Who took). It will automatically add the item in your inventory tab and track the wealth distribution in the party. Don't forget to write it down in your profile as well!

I claimed Radosek's cloak of resistance, the swordwoman potion of cure moderate and the two potions of reduce person for Samuel. I will have a look at what lies unclaimed after a few days and probably pick a bit more.

Ashling please, be considerate with your poor fellow companions already waiting 3 days for this round to be resolved :P

You could have cast a spell or attacked the troll in addition to ask your question. In my opinion, from the map, I would tell there might be some kind of slope in the small openings that give access to the ramparts. You could also added an action in case your assumptions were right or wrong.

PbP is a slow enough beast with a group of committed players. We all have busy days. Let's all try to make it as smooth as possible when we are able to place a post!

I agree with Samuel. This table has been really great with a lot of good RP and good players. I would hate to see things start to stall just as we're finishing book 1 because of a few people not posting.

I have tried not to be too pushy about posting times because I know real life can be unpredictable, but I am thinking I need to step it up again. I am going to push us back towards my original expectations, that if there has been more than 24 hours since the last PC post, I will bot anyone who hasn't posted yet. If I have to bot you more than once in a week, you will be in danger of being removed from the game.

Ashling, as Samuel said, if it is your turn to act and you post, please include an action, even if it has a question involved with multiple possible actions based on the answer to the question. otherwise i will consider your action to be "delay".

Has anyone heard anything from Alec? I don't remember seeing a post saying he would be away, but he hasn't posted in a while, and had to be botted on that last round. I have sent him a message but have not gotten a response.

I was tempted to pick Sizzling Shot feat to deal fire damage :)
But I noticed Samuel was starting to fall apart on damage and so I picked Deadly Aim.

He has though a couple of alchemist fire flask he took from the common equipment, and an acid flask. Remember, at the loot sheet there are many equipment to share between us, including 8 alchemist fire flask, which I am pretty sure we should have split among us, at least during our wait at the tower.

I know, bookkeeping items is a headache, but it is a necessary one if we want to be prepared for combats like this. Please note what you pick in the spreadsheet and transfer the items to your profile!

The scroll of magic weapon would also work, except that we're already on combat so there's no ability to cast it on myself. Guess I have to just keep hacking at it. On the plus side, 2d6+6 will average much more than the troll's regeneration -- though that assumes it doesn't flatten Callix as she tries to take it down.
