With a quick incantation, and outstretched hand, Merlin hurls chain lightning at the two lookouts....

Chain lightning 20d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 1, 3, 4, 3, 5, 3, 2, 1, 5, 6, 3, 2, 5, 6, 5, 5, 4, 4) = 75 lightning damage, Ref DC 27 and 25 (secondary bolt) for half damage....


Reflex save vs DC 27 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 fails....

Reflex save vs DC 25 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 = 13 fails....

Both men scream and jerk briefly as millions of bolts fry them to blackened skeletons where they stand!

Lol, never mind about initiative, Merlin finished that fight in the surprise round....


A stunningly, darkly beautiful fey woman suddenly appears in your midst on the roof of the White Tower!

That hardly seemed sporting, Merlin! Picking on helpless little Teuton boys with magic of your power is like killing a gadfly with a trebuchet, is it not?


Morgan! growls Merlin. Fierce Ones, get below, quickly! Down yon stairs!

Merlin points out a dark doorway in a corner turret on the roof where spiral stairs can be seen descending to the upper floor of the White Tower.

I shall handle this harlot! Merlin snarls, clearly angry at Morgan for some 1600 years of magical slumber and imprisonment beneath Stonehenge....


Morgan throws back her lovely, wicked head and laughs a melodiously mocking laugh....

Oh, Merlin! I'm not here to hurt your darling little Arthur and his knights.... I'm here to hurt you, my old love....

The sky quickly begins to darken with ominous storm clouds, and a peal of thunder precedes a crackling flash of lightning that briefly illuminates everything as on a bright summer day....


Then come and get me on the Ethereal, you rotten c++$!

Merlin waves his hands and intones a chant, and suddenly vanishes, leaving The FOs alone with the world's most powerful witch since Baba Yaga!


Morgan sneers at The FOs, giggles evilly, and then vanishes with a chant and gesture of her own, presumably to join Merlin for what promises to be an epic magical duel on the Ethereal Plane!

Heeding Merlin's last command, The FOs hurry to the stairwell and down, Derrik leading with Excalibur in hand when they must descend the narrow stairs in single file.

On exiting the stairwell on the third floor, they resume marching order in a spacious chamber, lavishly furnished with antique furniture, and decorated with fine tapestries that appear to have been woven some time in the Middle Ages or early Renaissance.

Six human crewmates, all clad in black trench coats with the red fangs insignia, are sitting around a mahogany table playing a card game. They look up in surprise as The FOs storm the room!

Roll initiative; each PC gets a single action during the surprise round....


Male Human Gunslinger 8

Initiative 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19

Surprise round: Boo, a~&$%*+s! Dwayne Lee fires his AR-15 at one of the crewmates from 20 ft away (PBS)....1d20 + 14 ⇒ (16) + 14 = 30 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9 dealing 9 bludgeoning and piercing damage. The crewmate screams and grabs his bleeding shoulder....


Female Human Cleric 6

Initiative 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

Surprise round: Go get 'em, King Arthur! Kate shouts, slapping Derrik on the back and casting shield other on him.

Try not to get hurt, as half of it'll come out of my sweet little ass! Kate grins.

(Cannot act until first normal round.)

Radsworth, having cast Mage Armor a few moments before they descend downstairs, is not happy in this particular environment. No fireballs or flight tend to make a wizard nervous.

If a line of fire is clear, he pokes his head around the corner and lets a round loose from Traveler, aiming at the same thrall Dwayne Lee Hooker chose.

The bomb smashes on the crewmate who already has bullets in him from DLH and Radsworth, and he burst into flames, shrieking and flailing! The fiery splash from the firebomb splatters on two of his fellow crewmates, who also start screaming from the painful burns!

Reflex save for half splash damage 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20....deals 3 fire damage....

Derrik charges the other man after he is dazed from seeing his ally crushed to a pulp, Slashing at his neck with Precision and Wrath.

Lying in a torpor within his coffin, the Vampire Von Ulrik is oblivious to the screams of his dying crew up in the White Tower....

He dreams of conquest.... He is riding in a chariot drawn by a pair of giant, bloodthirsty goats.... On his right hand is Jarngrepnir ("Irongripper"), the Gauntlet of Thor.... Around his waist is Thor's Belt of Strength.... And in that mighty, gauntleted hand is Mjolnir, crackling with lightning!

It is glorious! He rides over all the lands of Midgard, smiting giants, trolls, and demons....

And then he drinks their blood!

Derrik spins around in a quarter circle stabbing the blade of Excalibur towards the man's heart, and in a flourish of intimidating skill and ferociousness, Draws Dawnbringer with his left as the sword took his right, Axe and Sword mixed into a dance of death.

Powerful Excalibur Strike: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 271d8 + 12 + 2d6 ⇒ (8) + 12 + (3, 3) = 26

The five crew still living rise from their chairs, a move action that provokes AoOs from Koran, Krar, and Derrik....

They pick up their submachine guns as a move action, which would also provoke for those with Combat Reflexes....

There are now four crewmates still standing....

The crewmate slashed twice by Excalibur falls in a hail of bullets from DLH's rifle!


There are now three crewmates remaining.


The three remaining crew open fire on The FOs....

Submachine gun 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26 1d10 ⇒ 5 deals 5 damage to Koran....

Submachine gun 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8 1d10 ⇒ 9 misses Krar....

Submachine gun 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16 1d10 ⇒ 5 deals 5 damage--3 to Derrik, 2 to Kate....
