Kate suddenly recalls noticing Koran smash his own foot with his earth breaker during the confusing brawl with The Babbler, and she walks over to him, touching him lightly on his arm and burning a command to cast cure light wounds, healing Koran of 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13 hp damage....

Intimidate: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (7) + 11 = 18
I am willing to let you live if you show us this cache of treasure. however if you try anything the big one with hammer will crush your brain into a little puddle of useless pulp
bluff: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
for the part about letting him live obviously

LOL! Good NE role playing, Mephos! :)

Intellect Devourer |

Sense Motive vs DC 24....1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12
Telepathically:
R-really? Y-you'll let me live?.... Oh, thank you, kind sir! You.... You won't be disappointed, I promise.... 'Eres a cloak what turns ye into a manta ray, right handy in the water, I reckon, an' a magic helmet what makes underwater explorin' a great deal easier for landlubbers like ourselves, sir.... An' potions what 'elp air-breathers breathe water, an' potions what makes it easier to move inna water.... If you fine gentlemen an' lady will keep yer word not to 'urt me no more, I'll take yous straight to it, I will!

Dwayne Lee Hooker DM substitute |

Wait a sec.... A cloak.... that turns you into a f#$~in' manta ray?.... Why the hell would I wanna wear a cloak that's gonna turn me into a damned sea cow?
Dwayne Lee shakes his balding head and rolls his eyes at the ID, as if he were dealing with a frustratingly ignorant child....

Michael Johnson 66 |

The Intellect Devourer leads The Fierce Ones down the spiral stairs to a dark, dank chamber half buried underground, where an ancient stone well offers up the waters of Loch Ness, and several dark archways suggest a number of side chambers.
The ID leads them into the northwest-most of these branching chambers, to what appears to be a great marble sarcophagus, with a lid graven in relief to depict a lady in full plate lying in repose with a great sword resting on her body, and her gauntleted hands resting on its quillions.
The ID telepathically indicates that the magical cache lies within the sarcophagus.

Dwayne Lee Hooker DM substitute |

Telepathically:
It's right inside that sarcophagus wif vuh armored lady on vuh lid, mates.... Now, er.... Ye will let me go free, right?
Ain't nobody said nothin' 'bout lettin' you go free, m+!$$%-f*&+$+, we's just considerin' lettin' you live, which if ya ask me ain't a good idea no-how. Don't be gettin' it in that nasty little brain--er, body--er, brain-body of yours that you're goin' anywhere.... I got my eye on you, little buddy....
Dwayne Lee emphasizes his point by thrusting the barrel of his AR-15 closer to the ID....

Michael Johnson 66 |

[dice=strength]1d20+5
Koran shoves the casket open.
If I was the ID I wouldn't run away since he is in the threat range of at least three creatures.
The lid slides aside with the rough scrape of stone on stone, revealing in the glow of Kate's light spell the glint of treasure!
A dozen bottles covered with a film of dusty spiderwebs, a cloak of rick aquamarine embroidered with cloth-of-gold nautical motifs of seashells and fish and a clasp of pearl, a steel helmet with a visor fashioned in the shape of a sea serpent's face, a fish-like mask of opalescent scales and jewels, a pair of soft boots....

Intellect Devourer |

As the light is first glimmering off the unearthed treasure, the ID snatches up a piece of flint and a steel chain link lying inconspicuously near the sarcophagus....
Telepathically:
To really appreciate vuh luster of vuh treasure, ya gots to 'ave a wee bit o' fire to reflect off vuh jewels an' what-not.... Wouldn't want to rob ye of vuh pleasure of watchin' firelight dancin' n' sparklin' in the facets o' vuh jewels n' gems n' such....
It strikes the flint and steel together, creating a spark that ignites the built up, invisible, tasteless, odorless gas that fills the subterranean vault, in a bright explosion of orange, purple, and yellow flames!
The searing flames deal 10d6 ⇒ (2, 1, 3, 3, 5, 3, 2, 2, 4, 2) = 27 fire damage to everyone in the cellar! A successful DC 20 Reflex save halves the damage....

Intellect Devourer |

Telepathically:
Whoopsy! Didn't see vat comin', I'll reckon.... Well, I'll jus' be goin' on me little ol' way now.... 'Scuse me....
Attempting to cast defensively and turn invisible....
Concentration check 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (14) + 11 = 25 vs DC 19....
The ID disappears! A barely audible scuttling sound suggests that it is scurrying toward the exit of the lightless vault....

Derrik Stonesmith |

The Flames lick Derrik in his suit of armor
Reflex Save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
And though quite easily burned, does not scream in pain.. but rather turns his head slowly to the ID, menacingly..
" You would have done well.. to try that against weaker foes unlike us... you have sealed your Fate... And garner no mercy "
Swinging his axe at the creature in response... strangely enough.. His Axe has not stopped glowing
Hrm not sure whether or not that would be surprising the creature or even possible BEFORE init starts again.. so I wont roll yet

Intellect Devourer |

Using its reduce size spell-like ability defensively (DC 17)....
Concentration 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (9) + 11 = 20 succeeds....
The ID shrinks down to size Tiny, and then darts between Derrik's legs, who is flat-footed as he hasn't acted yet in this combat, so he cannot make an AoO.... Scuttling past Koran and Krar (both also flat-footed).... And out of the northwest chamber, into the central chamber where the well and stairway await....
Telepathically:
See you bloody gits in vuh funny papers, I will! Ta-ta! Har! Har!

Derrik Stonesmith |

Derrik grits through the pain of the explosion his suit of armor glowing with greenish runes as he feels his wounds begin to heal somewhat..
He shakes his head.. a creature of such evil could not be saved.. it was a pity, but he knew it would be so. Raising Dawnbringer high he charged directly next to the brain-creature and with the size of his Axe and the size of the Devourer, intended to bisect the creature clean in half.
Lay on hands: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Two Handed Charging Powerful Smiting Dawnbringer: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 252d6 + 15 ⇒ (1, 2) + 15 = 18

Dawnbringer cleaves the brain-like body of the monster into left and right hemispheres with a mighty chop! Thus ends the evil existence of the Intellect Devourer of The Lady's Keep....

Michael Johnson 66 |

The treasure seems to have been well-protected from the blast of fire by the stone sarcophagus in which it lies.
There is a cloak of sea-green silk, with cloth-of-gold fish, sea serpents, and rays embroidered along the hem and collar, and a clasp of pearl and what appears to be the spiny stinger of a stingray.
There is a pair of soft seal-skin boots with ornate, Celtic knot designs around the buckles and cuffs.
There is a greenish steel helmet with a visor fashioned in the fierce likeness of a scaly sea serpent.
There is a fantastic and sinister mask with large, fish-like eye lenses and opalescent scales and fins, giving the aspect of some fierce sea monster.
There is an ornate wooden cube, small enough to fit in one's pocket, bearing a stylized sailboat motif engraved on one of its six many-seamed sides.
There is a wondrous figurine of coral in the shape (and about the size) of a seahorse, with pearl eyes.
There are 12 potion bottles, each marked with arcane sigils; there appear to be six each of two different kinds.
Finally, there is a scroll case.

Kate Peace |

Kate extends a hand over the items in the sarcophagus, and utters a brief incantation....
Casts detect magic and scans each of the items in the cache....
Wow.... Genuine magic items stashed here by the wizards and witches of old.... I guess by old Merlin, himself, right?.... Yep, every last bit of it glows with an aura of magic....

Derrik Stonesmith |

Derrik swings the blood and juices from the Intellect devourer to the ground.. Dawnbringer splitting a small portion of the floor from the grievous chop. The glow of armor and Axe, gone. Moving to guard the entrance he stays vigil though wounded, watching Kate and the rest as the investigate.
" That is good to hear Kate.. Perhaps we should allow the magically inclined Professor and..Enchanter. Assuming they are able... Also.. I believe the fire might have hurt a few of us more than the others... we do not want to run into more enemies or get ambush. Your.. Magicks would be appreciated "
Derrik is glad to hear that the cache is as amazing as Merlin had described
" Perhaps we can figure out what they do.. and use them to find...the sword of Kings "
At that, Derrik's hand grips along Dawnbringer at the end of the hilt and in his mind a flash of Excalibur being wielded shown. but he was himself.. and yet not himself.

Derrik Stonesmith |

As Kate's healing pulses course through him the usual otherworldly glow emanates from him in response, though this time some of the residual energies empower a rune he had seen before and now visibly glows. HE however seems unaware of this fact.
Effectively charged up my Lifekeeping Shawl.. as I healed 51 hp from those 3 channels.

Kate Peace |

Kate smiles at Dwayne Lee.
What, that? You like that feeling big boy?
She channels positive energy, and a pulse of metaphysical light beams outward from her smile.... The energy seems to smile as well, as if Mother Nature Herself were smiling on The Fierce Ones, approving of their resistance, and their valor, and their perseverence....
