Absalom Initiation

Gameplay thread for a First Step to GMing Play by Post ;)

Absalom Initiation

Fresh off your induction into the Pathfinder Society you have been called into the office of Ambrus Valsin, the Venture Captain in charge of daily operations in and around the Grand Lodge. The efficient and straightforward chamberlain nods curtly and motions for you to sit before launching straight into your assignment:

"All right, Pathfinders! Listen up. I know several of you haven't yet passed your Confirmation and a few of you aren't... our typical recruit..." He pauses, regarding a few of you with a critical eye, then continues once again. "Regardless, recent setbacks have forced us to up our recruiting efforts. First though, I need you to prove to me that you have the salt to make it in a world like this. It’s rough out there and I’m not just talking about the ruins, tombs, and wilderness Pathfinders find themselves in on missions. We’ve got people who look down their noses at us, folks who think we squander our resources, and Consortium Agents who want to take everything we have collected. For every friend of the Society, there are two enemies."

“Your first mission, to test your mettle and loyalties, sends you to meet a few people important to the Society living here in Absalom. These are other venture-captains or close allies of our organization, so follow their orders as you would mine. I’ve prepared a list of things I want you to do. They’re not arranged in any particular order of importance, but I want them all completed as quickly as possible. Only report to me once you complete them all and it would be best if you could finish them before the day’s end."

He hands you the list complete with the name of your contacts and directions to the meeting locations.

"Please speak to your contacts should you have any further questions. Dismissed." He waves you off then turns to regard a sheaf of paper on his desk, his time for you clearly spent.

Please see the Tasks List For the sake of moving things along, if two or more people have a preference on a specific task, we'll go for that first. Also feel free to make an introduction to the group and plan your next move. Once a destination is picked, I'll set up the introduction to the contact, then we'll probably get to the start of the "actual" tasks after the weekend.

Scarab Sages

Male N Human (Garundi) Investigator (Empiricist) 4 | HP: 35/35 | AC: 15 (11 Tch, 14 Fl) (+1 vs traps) | CMB: +6, CMD: 17 | F: + 4, R: +6 (+1 vs traps), W: +6 (+2 vs illusions) | Init: +5 | Perc: +11+d6 (+2 vs traps), SM: +6 | Speed 30ft | Inspiration: 6/6 | Extracts: 1st - shield, heightened awareness, ???, ???; 2nd - bull's strength | Active conditions:None

Mekhu stands silently as Venture-Captain Valsin gives his instructions, and carefully takes the proffered list. His is about to ask a question when the Venture-Captain dismisses everyone, and he turns and files out of the office.

Once outside, Mekhu introduces himself to the other Pathfinders assembled for this task. He is a tawny-skinned man of unremarkable height and build, with a small goatee and inquisitive eyes. He wears layered robes, and carries a sickle at his belt.

"Greetings. My name is Mekhu Inebni. I am pleased to be working with you all this day." His voice is quiet, as though he spends a lot of time whispering and is unused to speaking loudly, but Mekhu is well spoken, with clipped consonants and excellent pronunciation belying his previous excellent education. "We should make a start on this list. I would favour visiting this man Karela, I am intrigued by the mention of rare books."

Dark Archive

Female CG elf investigator (empiricist) 1 | HP: 7/7| AC: 14 (T: 12, F: 12) | CMB: +1, CMD: 13 | F: -1, R: +4, W: +4 | Init: +2 | Perc: +8, SM: +6 | Speed 20ft | Inspiration: 4/4 | Extracts: 1st-2/2 | Active conditions: None.

Anelara waits while quietly as Valsin gives them the rundown. She looks over the page eagerly. Once outside she seems anxious to get started.

"Um, hi. I'm Anelara Findaelyra, but most people simply call me Fin." She speaks awkwardly and perhaps a little too loudly. As if she is unused to talking to people. "Actually, I think we should start with the Paracountess. Who know what that item from the vaults might do. It could be dangerous if it gets in the wrong hands."

Grand Lodge

Male CG Half-Elf (Spireborn) Occultist 8 | HP: 75/75| AC: 24 (12 Tch, 22 Fl) | CMB: +9 CMD: 22 | F: +9, R: +5, W: +7 | Init: +4 | Perc: +16, SM: +11 | Speed 20ft | Mental Focus(Pool=15): Conj:2/2, Transm: 6/6 Divin:6/6 Evoc:1/1 | Spells: 1st (6/6), 2nd (5/5), 3rd (3/3) | Active conditions: None

The half-elf exiting the room with the others grumbles audibly as he passes a hand through his long dark hair before letting it sit straight back. Clothed in a well-worn explorer's outfit, bits and pieces of ancient-looking broken amulets, charms and the like dangle from his belt, neck, and ears. His gloved hands flex, the light catching upon coarse thread that has been roughly sewn in to form ancient runes. Speaking in a barely controlled voice, he snarls: "What in the hells? So we're running errands for allies of the Society for the day? This is such b#&*&!&$." He snatches the paper irritably, scans it quickly before passing it on to another agent. "Whatever; if I'm to be an errand-boy, I don't f$@$ing care. Whatever is first on the list."

Dark Archive

Female N Gnome Occultist (Tome Eater) 1 | HP: 10/10 | AC: 13 (9 Tch, 13 Fl) | CMB: +0, CMD: 7 | F: +3, R: -3, W: +3 | Init: -2 | Perc: +3, SM: +1 | Speed 20ft. | Mental Focus: Conjuration 1/2, Enchantment 2/3 | Spells: 0: Stabilize, Daze; 1st (1/2): Cure Light Wounds, Forbid Action | Active conditions: Enchantment Res. Daraquax's big, expressive eyes look comprehensively at the half-elf from behind round spectacles: "Oh, come now. It's not as bad as it seems, we get to meet Ms. Dralneen in person! Considering that I've only been a Pathfinder for... um, let me see now." She pauses, and rifles through an ornate ironbound tome that's at least half her size, covered in esoteric markings and mundane scribbles. "Three hours and twenty three minutes! Huh, I'm making good time. Anyway, it's only natural that we'd be given simpler tasks to start with, but it's still nice of them to not make us swab the poop deck, or whatever other boring recruits have to do."

Realizing her lack of formalities, she adds "I'm Daraquax Bookkezstor, if you wanted to know what to call me! Pleasure to meet all of you, I'm sure. So yeah, Fin seems to have the right idea. Unknown items are the best kind of items, after all! Hmm, I should cross reference with the list of objects on loan, maybe then we'll get a head start and..." She trails off, muttering to herself as she gets absorbed in her preparations.

Grand Lodge

Male CG Half-Elf (Spireborn) Occultist 8 | HP: 75/75| AC: 24 (12 Tch, 22 Fl) | CMB: +9 CMD: 22 | F: +9, R: +5, W: +7 | Init: +4 | Perc: +16, SM: +11 | Speed 20ft | Mental Focus(Pool=15): Conj:2/2, Transm: 6/6 Divin:6/6 Evoc:1/1 | Spells: 1st (6/6), 2nd (5/5), 3rd (3/3) | Active conditions: None

The half-elf snorts. "Yeah well I'd rather be doing grunt work on a dig site. This? This is ... Ah forget about it. Lets just get it done."

Scarab Sages

Male N Human (Garundi) Investigator (Empiricist) 4 | HP: 35/35 | AC: 15 (11 Tch, 14 Fl) (+1 vs traps) | CMB: +6, CMD: 17 | F: + 4, R: +6 (+1 vs traps), W: +6 (+2 vs illusions) | Init: +5 | Perc: +11+d6 (+2 vs traps), SM: +6 | Speed 30ft | Inspiration: 6/6 | Extracts: 1st - shield, heightened awareness, ???, ???; 2nd - bull's strength | Active conditions:None

Slightly taken aback by the half-elf's dismissive attitude, Mekhu turns to the others.

"I am pleased to meet you Fin and Daraquax. If you wish to visit the Paracountess first, I have no objections. This item is likely to be of great importance, we should do what we can to find out more about it."

Grand Lodge

A strange looking elf woman enters, dressed in simple loose robes. Her straight black hair hangs from a head that is unnaturally bulbous, looking more appropriate on a goblin than her slender elven frame.

"Apologies for my tardiness. This is such a big place, I find myself constantly getting lost.

They call me Jane. I don't suppose I've met any of you before?" She looks slightly disappointed when the answer is no.

"The Paracountess seems like quite the colorful individual, from what I've heard. I'd enjoy meeting her, I think."

Dark Archive

Female N Gnome Occultist (Tome Eater) 1 | HP: 10/10 | AC: 13 (9 Tch, 13 Fl) | CMB: +0, CMD: 7 | F: +3, R: -3, W: +3 | Init: -2 | Perc: +3, SM: +1 | Speed 20ft. | Mental Focus: Conjuration 1/2, Enchantment 2/3 | Spells: 0: Stabilize, Daze; 1st (1/2): Cure Light Wounds, Forbid Action | Active conditions: Enchantment Res. Power, +1 Cha Checks.

Daraquax's face beams as she looks up from her book to meet Jane.

"She's the foremost expert on all matters esoteric and supernatural, I've come to understand. What an honor for me, I mean us! By the by, I've narrowed down the number of items Ms. Dralneen could have borrowed to approximately 108. I can't wait to see what it is; maybe it's the Prismatic Maze of Orum-Heb, or the Tyrant's Tongue Twister! Oh, the anticipation is killing me!"

She fidgets in place, glancing through the oddly drawn notes she has written all throughout her book.

"I've read that the Ivy District is amazing this time of year, something about the way the wind blows through the streets, angles and whatnot of the buildings. If we're all set, we should make this into a proper outing!"

A momentary expression of distress flashes across her face, "Wait, wasn't there another person in Mr. Valsin's office with us? Did we lose one already?"

There should be six of us playing, right? Or are we all present and accounted for?

Scarab Sages

Male N Human (Garundi) Investigator (Empiricist) 4 | HP: 35/35 | AC: 15 (11 Tch, 14 Fl) (+1 vs traps) | CMB: +6, CMD: 17 | F: + 4, R: +6 (+1 vs traps), W: +6 (+2 vs illusions) | Init: +5 | Perc: +11+d6 (+2 vs traps), SM: +6 | Speed 30ft | Inspiration: 6/6 | Extracts: 1st - shield, heightened awareness, ???, ???; 2nd - bull's strength | Active conditions:None

The unusual appearance of the elf seems not to peturb Mekhu. I've seen stranger in Osirion, he thinks to himself. Not much stranger though. The gnome is also somewhat strange. I hope this aimless rambling does not continue, it is irritating.

"Absolom is a pleasant enough place, but it pales in comparison to Sothis. Have any of you seen it?"

Grand Lodge

Male CG Half-Elf (Spireborn) Occultist 8 | HP: 75/75| AC: 24 (12 Tch, 22 Fl) | CMB: +9 CMD: 22 | F: +9, R: +5, W: +7 | Init: +4 | Perc: +16, SM: +11 | Speed 20ft | Mental Focus(Pool=15): Conj:2/2, Transm: 6/6 Divin:6/6 Evoc:1/1 | Spells: 1st (6/6), 2nd (5/5), 3rd (3/3) | Active conditions: None

The half-elf waggles his eyebrows and leers playfully at the newcomer. "Well hello there Jane; I'm Illuthion Cinderrain, and I feel a whole lot better about having to do this already." ending his greeting with a courtier's bow. Whipping his hair back, he rises, adding conversationally to Mekhu: "No I haven't, but talk of it's magnificence have spread like wildfire. Personally, I'd love to go there if just to see the carcass of that giant beetle the Ruby Prince has the balls to use as a home." he says with a note of admiration in his voice. He nods to himself, then looks back at the office door they just exited moments ago. "In the meantime, lets hope our holy man is done talking with Vee Cee Valsin so we can get this done."

Yes, we are waiting for the Paladin/Garr.

"Wow, that large man was a priest. You never can tell about people, can you?" Fin shakes her head. "They say Osirian is a beautiful place. Never actually been there myself, read lots of books about it though." She says with a smile at the little Gnome. She kneels down and offers a hand Daraquax. "It is a pleasure meeting a fellow bookworm. I think we will be good friends little Dara."

For this game Garr has been replaced by Fin. A bit friendlier of a character. :)
Inspired by Warehouse 13.

Absalom Initiation

Our Paladin Kemot hasn't posted in Gameplay, though I'll forgive it given that it's Halloween weekend ;) We'll see how things go.

Following the directions you were given to meet the Paracountess Zarta Dralneen, you come upon a magnificent three story gothic structure. The ebon lacquered double doors wrought with gleaming silver fixtures greet you with, a prickly brass cone hanging from a chain serving as the door chime.

<post 1>

Moments after ringing the door chime, a servant in loose casual attire opens the door, greeting the group as if you were expected.

<post 2>

You are led through well-appointed sitting rooms, ballrooms, and a grand stairway granting a view of an elaborate study, before finally arriving on the third floor of the house. Knocking upon the door and announcing his presence, the servant opens the darkly stained wooden door. A large intricate carpet dominates the marble floor in this sitting room. A chaise sits along the north wall and a desk spans the southeast corner, its chair positioned with its back to the southwest corner of the room. Three comfortable chairs are positioned around a small, low circular table. Sitting in the chair behind the desk, Paracountess Zarta Dralneen regards you all with a wry smile, putting away a few papers before standing to address you. “Aldor, you are dismissed. Close the door behind you and attend to your other tasks.” She then turns her attention to the group.

Perception rolls:

Anelara Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26
Daraquax Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
Illuthion Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18
Jane Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15
Kemot Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 16
Mekhu Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25

Analera and Mekhu:
You notice that there is a cleverly concealed door in the wall behind the Paracountess

“It’s always so incredibly adorable when I see a freshfaced batch of Pathfinders. I mean, look at you scrumptious little teacakes. I could eat each and every one of you up," There is an inviting look in her eyes as she seems to examine the entire group (regardless of gender) before she sighs, “Although I assume this isn’t a pleasure visit since most of you are terribly overdressed for that manner of occasion, so that must mean you are here for that trinket Valsin has been nagging me about. Seems I can’t get that man around these parts anymore,” she gestures, sliding her hand down her body and widening the gesture to sweep out and across the room as if her home were a secondary thought. “On the good side, he always sends me all the precious new recruits."

<post 3>

“As you may have heard from whispers in the Pathfinder Lodge, I serve as head to the Dark Archive. Many short-sided fools believe that we in the Dark Archive are perhaps in the thrall of devils and dark magic, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. In fact, we use these tools for their power; we study them and determine if they have an application in the interests of the Society. The world is just teeming with things that are too dangerous or valuable to be left hidden away in a box. We must determine what they do and how we might use them."

At that, a cacophony of booms and crashes sounds from beyond the room’s west door, which causes her to glance sharply towards it and ammend, "Though they do on occasion misbehave."

The Paracountess and her ostentatious abode are clearly trying to convey a sense of importance, but also one of mystery. Mekhu feels her stare pass over him, and it is clear that she is a powerful person and not to be trifled with.

A woman of high status and seemingly low virtue. She would not be out of place at court in Sothis.

<Post 4>

The Paracountess' explanation of the Dark Archive intrigues Mekhu. The search for lost knowledge is of great importance, both for the Society and for the nation of Osirion.

Finally speaking up, he asks "What is the nature of this item, your excellency?" as he hears the cacophony from next door.

Daraquax's eyes seem like they might pop out of her head as she takes in every detail of the room and, more importantly, Ms. Dralneen. I can't believe it! She looked at me! She's even more beautiful than in her illustrations, I should probably correct those when I get the chance... Did she just say pleasure visit?

<Post 4>

Oh, shoot, I wasn't paying attention, what's she saying now?

At the sound of the commotion, Daraquax takes a quite undignified hop.
"Sorry Zarta, I mean, Ms. Paracountess!"

After taking a few deep breaths, Daraquax regains a semblance of composure.

"Just a bit of nerves, I'm a big fan of your work. It's not every day you get to meet one of your heroes! Your house is splendid, by the way. But, yeah, to business. What object are we dealing with? Please let it be the Voracious Tome, that'd be so cool."

<Post 3>

Fin looks about the office in awe. "It is a cincere pleasure to meet you Paracountess Dralneen."

<Post 4>

As the cacophony interrupts their meeting Fin speaks up. "And some are considered too dangerous or powerful NOT to be locked up in a box. If that box happens to be the Society vaults. Where we know they won't be used for harm." She shudders momentarily at the thought of harmful artifacts. She reaches down and grasps a pair of rings on a fine chain attached to her belt. Then she sighs and releases them.

<post 1>

Illuthion gazes up and down the structure, a look of mild interest creeping upon his face. What is this? Twenty-fourth century original? Or thirty-fifth revival? Certainly not bad, well kept up.

<post 3>

Illuthion grins, more a predatory smile than anything else, before going over to the desk and casually, almost flippantly sitting down on it, grabbing a knee as he reclines back slightly, facing Zarta to the extent the furniture will let him. "Well, you know Vee Cee Valsin; always something to do in Skyreach."

<post 4>

The halfbreed nods at the words of his fellows, with particular vigor at Anelara's words, to which he adds "Or at least, not used to harm us Pathfinders. And the greater world at large. But yeah, so what's with the noise? I'm going to guess ... spell misbehavior. Did I get it right?" he asks with an innocent smile.

Absalom Initiation

The Paracountess licks her lips lightly, with a salacious smile. "Oh, the trinket you were sent to retrieve? It is a seven-lock case, on loan for me to examine the protective wards that it contains. It seems to be infused with a bit of abjuration and an explosion of evocation to... discourage anyone that manages to get past the seven mastercraft locks." She gives a wry chuckle, "I hope you don't find me hypocritical if I strongly caution that you not attempt to open it? On occasion the box itself can be more dangerous than what it contains."

With that there is another tremendous crash, followed by the sound of several small objects being smashed against the wall. "Now, that is the other matter. One of my servants has grown... unruly. In time he will calm down, I'm sure, but that's time that you might not have, I might imagine. I'm afraid that you will have to deal with him to retrieve what dear Ambrus sent you for."

Pausing to consider a moment, she opens a drawer and withdraws a silver letter opener from her desk. "You may require this to get him to submit" she chuckles playfully.

The half-elf's facade cracks a little at the Paracountess' words. Maybe it is not arrogance that he displays, perhaps it is merely a show to cover for the apprehension that he feels at the beginning of his career like the rest of us.

"How dangerous is this box, ma'am? And more importantly, how dangerous is this servant who seems to be making a terrible racket in your otherwise peaceful house?"

"Could be an alchemically enhanced humanoid, they tend to have fits from time to time."

Daraquax looks over the letter opener attentively, adding "...or not. Silver, hmm, lycanthropy? Some form of outsider? Or does he just suffer from acute aichmophobia?"

Absalom Initiation

"Oh, the box isn't dangerous at all should you heed my words and not open it. As for my servant... Kreuvus is a bit of a devilishly spoiled sort," she chuckles.

Someone can take the letter opener, which is treated as a masterwork silver dagger. Other than that, I'll assume you make any preparations you might need for dealing with an unknown Devilish foe.

Zarta’s bedroom is decorated in the colors of Cheliax— ebon black and crimson red. Silk, rare woods, and carefully carved marble compose every bit of furniture in the room. Goose down now litters the room, covering almost every surface and the silken shreds of the cushions that contained it lie about like flayed skin . A post on the massive screened bed is snapped in half, collapsed on the bed and drawing the screened curtains into a ripped slope of formerly fine cloth. Vials of perfume and crystal jars of other cosmetics sit smashed on the marble floor around the dresser. A prominent fixture in the room, a large “X” made of stout wood sits along the west wall, complete with leather shackles and chains. A table sits to its left strewn with various items intended for pleasure, but outwardly resembling implements of pain.

More importantly, however, there is a fuming small red-skinned creature flying about the room that you see pick up an expensive looking red-laquered box that he flings with all his might against one wall, smashing through a vase, then retrieves it to hurl it against another wall.

An elf with deep blue eyes and dark hair enters behind the Pathfinders.

When she speaks, there is an icy edge to her voice, with cold and distance beyond the most haughty of elves.

"You left before the group was fully assembled," she sniffs at the other Pathfinders, though clearly she had been late.

"I have, however, been fully briefed on our mission."

Joining late thanks to your drop out. Thanks, GM WolfSpirit! Looks like I'm up!

Kiri's actions prove that while giving peace a chance as the devil runs headlong into her swing. Clearly it seems unfazed by the cold iron blade as it is barely left with a scratch. On the other hand, Jane clearly creeps him out as he is Shaken and stirred towards probable violence.

I suppose I could use the letter opener dagger if nobody else is going to use it, though I may be better off casting stuff.

"I was right! It was an outsider. Should have been obvious it was an imp, really."

Daraquax hardly notices Kiri entering behind her, but she certainly takes note when she pulls out her scimitar and takes a slice at the imp.

"Oh, and Jane's right, those buggers can be surprisingly painful, watch out guys! I've got just the thing, let me see here..."

Daraquax starts leafing through the first few pages of her book, mumbling arcane scribblings to herself as if there wasn't a fight happening right in front of her.

Backtracking to before the door was opened

Illuthion slowly goes to grab the dagger as his mind finally puts two and two together. "A devil. You have an unbound devil in that chamber. Awesome. Just fu... Ahem. Just. Peachy." Standing back up, he flips the letter opener in his hand experimentally. It's a well balanced blade, and Illuthion begins to suspect that it might be a letter opener in name only. He pauses a moment to consider what he will say, before stating: "It'll be vulnerable to silver weapons, good-imbued weapons and hitting it really hard. Don't bother with fire or electricity spells, and be prepared to be disappointed with acid and cold spells. And if noone else cares, I'll hang onto this. For now." he adds, turning towards Zarta, a dark look in his eyes. Ten gold says she engineered this situation. he thinks darkly, half-drawing his sword out to touch the pommel to the pommel of the dagger.

Illuthion will spend a point of focus to confer a +1 enhancement bonus to the dagger.

[ooc]Back to the present

If anything could be said to focus Illuthion, the appearance of the elf would be it. He charges up to the creature, dagger held high, but the words he spits out aren't for the devil. "Trust me, elf, I don't think that's in the cards right now, so how about you focus on the fight?"

Dagger Attack!!!: 1d20 + 3 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 3 + 1 + 2 = 12
Dagger damage: 1d4 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 3 + 1 = 5

Mekhu turns to greet the latecomer, but barely has time to open his mouth before she rushes past him to engage the creature in the next room. Tardiness is unacceptable in a Pathfinder, but she seems to be able to handle herself, so I will forgo judgement for now.

The imp is already surrounded, and Mekhu's skill with a blade clearly cannot match that of Illuthion or Kiri, but he may be able to distract the imp for long enough for one of the others to land a telling blow. Drawing his shortsword, he moves cautiously into the room.

Move Action to draw a weapon, Move Action to move to the square above Illuthion (Lockwood please)

Absalom Initiation

As Mekhu draws into the room, the imp gives the party a hateful grin. As you watch, the wound that Kiri had dealt seems to close up, almost as if it had the ability to turn back time and cause her attack to have had missed entirely... ( *shifty eyes* ) or more likely it has some sort of healing ability.

The imp deftly springs back and settles on the ground momentarily, before he almost seems to vanish in thin air (square denoted by the Bamf!)

Your keen eyes do note a flash from a length of silver on the "toy rack" in the room, though, denoted by the silver star, (square south-west of Jane.) Zarta is indeed sitting behind her desk with a most amused look as she watches the group running about, not even bothering to stand up herself. There are a small number of jars on her desk; one of which might be blotting powder... or it could be candy. If you'd like to use your Perception check you made as a Move Action, you determine the following:

Anelera Perception (move action):
Among the contents on top of the desk visible are writing materials including inks and blotting sand, a vial of perfume, a small jar of chellish candies, and... body glitter (of all things). Either the blotting sand or body glitter would probably give you one use to counteract the Invisibility

Introducing GM Wolfspirit's First Steps to GMing! Following GM Damo's Confirmation I decided to "Pay it Forward" and run a game of my own. This will be a PFS Legal run of First Steps Part 1: In Service to Lore

I currently have four players from the previous Confirmation mustering that have expressed interest in playing; assuming everyone checks in I'll have up to two more spots. This game will likely get started sometime this weekend, earlier if everyone checks in and are ready.

I'm looking forward to running this!

Silver Crusade

I'd be interested. I just wrapped up GMing a table of this for new PBPers, actually.

Tomorrow I'm sitting down to do a bit of character updating, so I'll have details then, but it'll be either an Unchained Summoner, Brawler, or Psychic.

Grand Lodge

Ezekias Silverthane at your service.

I'm interested, but I'd need to sort out a new character first. I'm currently thinking about an empiricist Investigator.

Grand Lodge

Illuthion Cinderrain is ready for action. Boris sends his regards :D

Silver Crusade

I have a 1st level hunter or a 2nd level rouge that would be interested if you still have room.

There's potentially room, though it's filling up fast! Depending on who and how many sign up I'll probably give precedence to some of the newer PbP'ers (again with the Pay it Forward) and 2 out of the 4 people I initially contacted have dotted in.

Grand Lodge

I would love a spot if there is still room.

Silver Crusade

Dotting in for my Gnome Occultist, I haven't had time to draw up her character sheet yet. Semagoro says hi by the way ;)

Silver Crusade

I would also be interested if there's room.

Dark Archive

Daraquax Bookkezstor is nearly ready! I mean, not really, after I finish tidying up my inventory and such, but you get the idea.
Here's the gnome I was talking about.

Dark Archive

Fin checking in. Garr gives his regards.

Scarab Sages

Mekhu Inebni checking in, (with greetings from Markus.)

Grand Lodge

This is my Amnesiac Psychic 1. I haven't put the whole character sheet up on the forums. If you need it to make your decision, I can put up a PDF copy as a placeholder until I port everything over.

Scarab Sages

Just spotted that I've posted an empiricist investigator directly below another one! Is that going to be an issue?

There shouldn't be a problem with two people playing the same class; I think there might be two investigators and two Occultists, which could be funny. I'm going to comb through the submissions and make sure I've untangled the various aliases, then figure out the group composition.

As far as I can tell, I think there's 9 distinct people that have responded, so recruitment is probably going to be closed at this point for anyone that hasn't previously expressed interest. If you haven't responded yet or aren't selected in this group, fear not as I'll probably run another session of this once the current one is completed.

Dark Archive

@Mekhu, We have fairly different builds. There's some overlap, but we also each cover some areas that the other doesn't.

Allright, here's the roster I'd like to go with for this run (that I'm nick-naming the the Psychics and Skeptics):

    Illuthion Cinderrain (Elf Occultist)
    Anelara Findaelyra (Elf Investigator)
    Mekhu Inebni (Human Investigator)
    Daraquax (Gnome Occultist)
    Jane Doe (Elf Psychic Amnesiac)
    Kemot Adari (Human Paladin)

Kiri, Bennybeck, and Ezekias, you all looked like you would be strong additions to the group and I'll be PMing you later with other PbP opportunities; hopefully we'll be able to game together soon (and given the response I may run another First Steps after my current GM schedule settles down.) Thanks again for applying :)

For the rest, please make sure to get your profiles updated (check the formatting guidelines on my Alias) and make a post in the Discussion Board confirming that you're still available and willing to post at least once a day (emergencies non-withstanding.)

Dark Archive

Psychics and Skeptics has a good ring to it! I'm currently at a work meeting retreat away from my computer, and I don't have access to my character on my phone. I'll get everything set up by the end of today, though! Thanks for picking me, and good luck to everyone who applied!

Grand Lodge

Thanks, Wolfspirit. Good luck to you guys and I'd love to be in on another run.
