I've played and GM'd the Scions trilogy.
Here are the trilogies (and a quadrilogy) that I have not played, with their tiers:
season 4: echoes of the past 5-9
season 7: faithless and forgotten, 1-5
season 8: tyranny of winds, 2 x 1-5 and a 3-7
season 2: heresy of man, 5-9; shades of ice, 1-5
season 1: devil we know (four parts), 1-7
I haven't played in any of those at all. The special is kind of frustrating for me. The people don't post much, so it seems like we are going really slow and there isn't a ton of RP interaction among the group. We also have like no skills. But we'll make it through! This will get Kramac to level 3, and I have a True Dragons of Absalom chronicle to apply when he hits 3, which I am really looking forward to. It is when I start my inquisitor levels, so my skill portfolio becomes MUCH better, and I get my animal companion.
Tyranny of Winds looks like it could work. level wise. I think everyone should be level 3, and if they're not, they should definitely be level 3 by the time we get to the third part. I think it also ties into the special somewhat, doesn't it?

Flyn should be at 3.2 by gameday...just starting the Voice in the Void module but the GM says we'll be done by gameday...
As for the special, while it's been fun, the group I'm with posts a lot but can't decide on much...every time the GM calls for a vote/decision on how to proceed, some of us quickly voice our opinions, while the others debate for a while, a couple of times never even voting...we've missed at least one opportunity due to indecision...

How's everyone doing in the special?
HMM has just announced the next gameday, it seems best with timing for me to start the gameday then, as right after the special i'll be going on a long vacation just to be back in time for gameday!
Just to make sure I understand correctly, you're saying you'd like to start the next Trilogy as part of the game day? I'd like to play in the Solstice Scar, which I believe is being run in the first game day slot. If you want to start your trilogy then, maybe I'll just make a new Level 1 Character or sign up to GM it.

That's right, it'll be part of game day, I'll put up a discussion thread this weekend. I just hosted tyranny of the winds! It's quite the experience and I'd gladly do it again! But part three is minimum level 3.
My special play has been alright, and average balance of overall. Wish they posted a bit more frequent though. but since I'm GMing as well, I've had to step back decision making and am just following along.
