We're almost at the end of the current scenario!
Actually, something occured to me: there is going to be a versimilitude issue regarding the Desimire brothers, since both are part of quite a few scenarios that we're going to play soon (including Storming the Diamond Gate, The Blakros Matrimony, Fortress of the Nail, The Hellknight's Feast). The issue is that those scenarios are supposed to have already happened and lead to the one we're currently playing. The question would be how we shall deal with it. I see a few possibilities:
#1 We ignore it altogether.
#2 We play the scenarios that happened before as "flashbacks", pretending "The Slave Master's Mirror" hasn't happened yet. It's actually not a bad choice, the only con I see is if a character dies in those scenarios, how do we explain that he was alive and well later on chronologically in "The Slaver Master's Mirror".
#3 We change the playlist and update it. Since we're one player shorter, I imagine that a fair deal of scenarios would be made available by that, to replace the Desimire ones. It would also have the advantage of sparing those of us that would have had to burn their stars to replay some scenarios (Blakros Matrimony and Hellknight's Feast come to mind).
Any thoughts?

My thoughts, in numbered list format:
1) I've been an idiot and I've played the Blakros Matrimony. Ah, well, I have to start spending those replays some day.
2) I think the blakros scenarios are just too much fun to pass up. Did we skip any
3) I'd go for 'flashback' mode, though this wouldn't be the first time a character of mine encounters continuity issues. Ignore would also work.
4) We can always adapt the playlist, but I'd rather burn a star for a good replay than switch out for some compromise scenario. Our options are not much broader than last year, because I GM'ed all season 6 scenarios for Pedwiddle and Lithrac (with minor exceptions).

I was thinking about this as well, and I would also favor the 'flashback' method even though it's slightly messy.
Another option would be to just rename the Desimire brothers going forward and make them into 'different' NPCs, though that may not really be any better than 'flashback.'

Actually, we're already missing on half the arc (the Disappeared, Day of the Demon, Vengeance at Sundered Crag), so we could swap it out.

Everyone,
As I've said to DMK, I've currently reached a point where I feel that I spend way too much time on PbP, so I am trying to issue priorities with what games I keep, and which ones I don't. Actually, the thing is that I'm currently struggling with keeping up all the games I'm in, and I'm noticing that I'm no longer able to give every post the attention, focus and dedication it deserves...
Another important factor is that I don't enjoy playing Veviane at all. The character is solid crunch-wise, but I simply don't like playing her. I didn't have much fun with her as a witch in the first three scenarios we played, and I find myself having no more success with the arcanist version.
The logical conclusion I've reached is that I'd like to take a bow out of the Orphans group, effective at the end of the current scenario. I'm really sorry about it.

GM Lithrac - I completely understand. I've been there myself recently. I am just not finding the same joy that I used to in PbP generally and work is keeping me very busy etc.
Gert and Old Lace will also be bowing out at the end of Slave Master's Mirror.
DM Kludde |
Lithrac, Gert: you have my understanding as well.
A quick count of the fingers leaves us a player short. Also, I share that opinion on characters: Ic is not doing it for me. I had some vague plans for character development, but it's not coming out all that much.
Which brings me to the decision to also bow out at the end of Slave Master's Mirror.

Well, I am glad I'm not alone in my feelings toward PbP lately. I definitely overcommitted myself too.
At this point I wouldn't mind calling off our little experiment.
I think if Lithrac, who started the group, and Kludde, who is a prolific GM, are both gone finding 2-3 recruits that meet exact XP requirements, etc. will be prohibitavely difficult. I've got too much on my plate to shoulder much there.
But I was kind of enjoying Wulfren, though character developmet has been lagging lately.
Many thanks for some awesome games everyone!

Well, I can't say I'm happy to hear it, but I definitely understand. It was an ambitious undertaking, but life happens; I agree, let's go ahead and call it.
Veviane |
Well, it looks like it's settled, then. It doesn't have to mean the end of our characters, since I imagine those who are satisfied with theirs will continue playing them, but Veviane will retire I think.
Thanks for taking part in this experiment, anyway!
