Yeah, I'd just have the enemies run away at that point.

Here are the links for the games on the boards:
The Discord table is on Cayden's Keg under the Gameday XIV Special Tables header, #gdxiv8-pf1-the-hao-jin-cataclysm-itspags.
You can give your players the links and encourage them to read the posts.

I have a lot of problems understanding how Discord works. I decided to give it a go and look for the Hao Jin cataclysm game on there but I can't find it.
I found the game day announcement thread and chatter thread but not the actual game thread.
Can someone point me in the right direction? TIA.

It's been long enough since I did this for a new server that I'd forgotten until Itspags reminded me. If you have access to Cayden's Keg, go to the Channels & Roles heading near the top of the listed forums, scroll down until you come to the section on GameDay specials, and then check the boxes by the play and ooc threads. I think that will let you see them, but they've changed the method since I started.

The schedule has us resuming this coming Thursday, but I'd prefer to get going again tomorrow night. That way if Paizo pulls the plug on the boards Monday morning we'll at least have the scene set for Part 3. What do you all think?
GM_Colin
Ended the combat with the cloakers running away, and posted the intermission. I have my players write a short paragraph for the report and I think I will post it to other team's table, either in GM alias or one of my PC...
On a second through, I don't want my paizo alias to be dotted in bunch of tables that I'm not really in. How about we post our table's finding here, and the GM of the persepctive tables relay them to the team?
DM Carbide
I agree with sharing information through this Discussion thread--good plan.
DM Carbide
I'll hold off on starting Part 3 until tomorrow, in case we get more guidance on when the shutdown will happen.
GM Roll4initiative
I'm a little bit confused on this part. When I ask my players who they want to fight, and they choose astral Invaders, I can pick any of the three? Or do they do them in order, G, H, & I?

Having worked together to thoroughly examine the damaged Hao Jin Tapestry we decided to begin our work at Slave Mountain. Upon our arrival we were immediately beset by a squad of hostile duergar with undead servants. After a brief scuffle (during which I proved superior to the enemy alchemist), me eliminated the threat. Behind the fallen foes we found a soul gem belonging to the night hag, Aslynn, being used to drain the souls of thirteen prisoners. We smashed the gem to release the prisoners. Before we could leave a small group of boggards attacked. They proved to be a nuisance at best and we hurried on to help the team at Round Mountain. (Are we the mountain team?)
Within Round Mountain we helped set up a bass agent through... difficult... terrain before moving deeper into the mountain. A couple of lava rays, local wildlife, had to be dispatched, but then there were some cloaked, but we got rid of them too, and now Round Mountain is also secure.
Are there anymore mountains?

The Discord table doesn't have one at the moment.

Thanks much--I let them know.

A boosted Aid Token passing to discord table from table 5-6, please
GM Colin, how was the Aid Token boosted?
DM Carbide
We need one more Astral success and three Undead successes.
DM Carbide
The Discord table just started an undead encounter.
GM Roll4initiative
About to finish an Astral encounter in a couple days. I will then start an undead encounter.
GM 7thGate
My table is having problems with the undead encounter, and are very likely to have it end by the tapestry's last defense. I wanted to make sure I run the transition correctly, because it's going to matter for current damage/conditions and buff timers a lot.
From what I can tell, they should immediately get 1d6*11 temp hp from the undead contained, then we immediately will move to the fury of the ruby phoenix, where they get 2 rounds to prep followed by the encounter starting? 1 round duration effects will continue into the next encounter in that case, both good and bad.
DM Carbide
That sounds right to me. Does anyone else have any comments?
GM 7thGate
My team is currently on round 3; after healing on both sides, they've dealt 20 damage and taken 127, and two of them have 16 rounds of confusion remaining being held off with suppress charms and compulsions. On the plus side, they have some short duration fly potion buffs, 1 minute wand buffs, haste, bard song applied.
They're almost certainly not going to want to do the challenge version of the final fight unless things turn around really fast, but I think they are likely to survive at least with the temp HP boost and using some of the encounter/mustering rewards.
I am planning to let them do the knowledge check rolls on the pheonix before the 2 rounds of prep, I think they'll need the more specific prep to counter some of its abilities.
GM 7thGate
For the final encounter, I think there are a few typos in the stat block. Banishing Strike references a slam attack that the Phoenix doesn't have (it has a claw/claw/bite attack routine). I assume this is probably just a copy+paste error due to the ability being written for one of the fire elementals at lower tier first, and am planning to apply it to any of the Phoenix's physical attacks.
The True Ruby Guardian is also listed as NG, while all the other guardians are LN. I assume this is a copy+paste error from pasting in the Phoenix stat block from the bestiary and forgetting to change the alignment in the tweaking, especially since the 1 line entry in the encounter itself lists it as LN. I'm planning to run it as LN so it doesn't take fire damage from its own abilities since it has the mythic ability to bypass fire immunity on non-lawful targets.
DM Carbide
Thanks for the heads-up. I'll get the relevant posts up shortly.
GM 7th Gate, those are reasonable comments. Anyone else have input on that?
DM Carbide
That should also trigger Tapestry's Last Defense, and so 7 day timer to finish the adventure, right?
Yes--next post is in the queue.
GM Roll4initiative
Do i immediately end the Astral Invaders encounter and whisk the PCs to the Fury of the Ruby Phoenix map and have them fight the Ruby Phoenix guardians?
DM Carbide
Yes. I think you can assume that the enemies joined the overall retreat prior to regrouping and attacking en masse.
GM 7thGate
Since slam is a single attack, I think I'd make banishing strike apply only to a particular attack, probably the bite, not to any. Other than that, your reasoning looks reasonable to me.
That's actually why I noticed it, I was checking to see if it was bite and/or claw only because the claw is a stronger attack. The T5-6 elemental has 2 slam attacks, so moving it to bite would actually reduce the number of attacks that can banish at the higher tiers vs. the lower one. I would be inclined to either do the 2 claw attacks or all the physical attacks. Either way, we should probably be consistent across the 7-8 and 10-11 tiers. How would you like to run it Redelia?
GM Redelia
I plan on it being the bite attack, simply because it's the first attack listed, so most of the time what I would use if the creature can't full attack. At least for tier 7-8, the bite is the stronger attack (same to hit for bite and claw, higher average damage). Considering it can only be used three times a day, I don't think the one versus two attacks it could be used on a round matters.
I'm not sure consistency between our tables matters that much, though; I think it's a place where you should just use your best judgement as to what is closest to the intention of the developers.
(It is always a good idea when running a MTS to discuss things like this with the other GMs; I think the discussion helps us get closer to that intention I mentioned)
GM 7thGate
Ah, got it. I actually misread the damage on the 10-11 stat block; the bite does do more damage (I thought they were the same at first) but I think the claws are probably still slightly stronger as an attack due to having the expanded crit range and blinding critical in the high tier.
The banishment can be used once per round in the high tier, but its probably most relevant for AOOs since 20' reach combined with its acrobatics score means it will probably often be able to force most melee to have to eat an AOO on approach every round while its casting spells and quickened walls of fire. It is especially going to be important defensively against the flying animal companion.
I'll run it as the bite attack for banishment as well.
DM Carbide
That's my understanding.
OTOH, by this point their success (and full XP/Prestige) is baked in, and they're playing for the Radiant Ruby Feathers boon.
DM Carbide
I'm inclined to finish out the week even if they hit 5 successes, since it will probably be a matter of a day or two extra time at most.
GM Redelia
Do any of you expect your table to have a hard time with the phoenix? My group just defeated their first phoenix and got two feathers (because of their tier). If they fail the check to use one, I'd like to pass it to a table that is less likely to get a feather of their own so that everyone can participate. I'm trying to get that info now so that if they fail we can get the feather moved promptly.
