Locke walks up to red kobold.
In case they have combat reflexes..

@Locke: You're not up yet.
Gwendallyn grapples the blue kobold.
Will: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (11) - 1 = 10
Fiona moves into the large pool of water, which reaches up to her hips. From there, she casts her slumber hex on the grappled kobold. The kobold falls asleep in Gwendallyn's arms.
Sling: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
The kobold in the back slings a stone against the ceiling.
Nighttail rides Hak up to Urbar.

That sounded oddly romantic...
Urbar takes a step into the room and swings his swords at the red kobold.

Dmg: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

StephNyan |

Ssh! Now Ery's going to write awkward stories again!
Urbar steps up to the red kobold and takes it out with a single swing.

LOL. How true, Steph!
Gwen quickly releases the sleeping kobold from her grapple and moves to snap its neck!
Coup de Grace: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 1) + 6 = 10
Free Action - Release Grapple. Full-Round Action - Unarmed Coup de Grace on Blue.

Locke steps forward, and fabricates an explosive.
"Incoming...turtle soup time."
It's thrown at blue turtle, excluding Fiona, Gwen & Urbar from the blast.
Bomb, PBS: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22BOOM: 2d6 + 5 ⇒ (3, 1) + 5 = 9

![]() |

"Just keep doing what you're doing, Locke."
Ery keeps his hand on Locke's shoulder, casting guidance once more.

![]() |

Tereze moves forward and draws her sling.
She peers around the corner and seeing the turtles attacking Fiona launches a stone at them.
Sling: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Unfortunately the ceiling of the cave is far to low for her to make the shot and the stone drops far from her intended target.
Gods above I do not like zese closed spaces. It is so cramped!

StephNyan |

Fort: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Gwendallyn breaks the sleeping kobold's neck.
Locke throws a bomb that takes out all of the turtles.
Eryzule gives Locke another touch of guidance.
Tereze copies the slinging kobold by slinging a stone at the ceiling. The ceiling now has hurt feelings.
This I assume:
Fiona casts her slumber hex on the remaining kobold.
Will: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (15) - 1 = 14
It falls asleep.
Combat's over!

![]() |

Locke puts away the morningstar, and straightens the mantle.
"Right....turtles are down, two lizards as well.
So ser Ery, the verdict? You said kobolds, but the turtles were on their team, and i scored a three in one. Urbar's killed one."

![]() |

"Very well. Locke wins..."
Ery laughs.

![]() |

"It seems bombs work wonders on turtles. Although the blast came a bit too close for comfort for me..."
Urbar says as he snuffs out the tiny flames covering his cloak.
"A warning would be appreciated next time..."
He adds while bending down to loot the kobolds, trying to hide the annoyed look on his face.
I will not be outdone by a bomb throwing lunatic!
After finishing up he moves over to the western tunnel, watching out for traps.
"This the right way?"
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18

![]() |

You'd not have been hit at all, but i'll roll with that.
"Hmm? I did say 'incoming'."
Locke smiles underneath the mask.
"Then, ser Ery, i'll have some strawberries when we next hit a city, thank you."

![]() |

Just a little roleplay :) I imagine a few sparks dancing about and landing on his cloak, nothing harmful.

![]() |

"Yes yes, strawberries for you..."
Once the group begins following Urbar, as he seemed to have a nose for things... Ery began to wonder of the severity of threat these Kobolds seemed to pose.
"Anyone else wonder why a city full of combat capable guards was having such an issue with this endeavor?"

![]() |
"I don't think we've encountered the real problem yet," Fiona answers Ery's question. "An entire tribe of these kobolds should be around here, and these two fell asleep more easily than I had expected."

![]() |

I hate to say it but Ery is right, zis seems a little too easy.
She turns to Nighttail.
Well, what can you tell us about what is ahead? How about you start with ze zree passages here and zen add what has the town so worried.

StephNyan |

"If you could let him leave, please do," Nighttail says when she sees Fiona look at the sleeping kobold. "The more kobolds you kill, the less I have in my tribe after we beat up the current chief."
"I have no idea about your town, but I can tell you where these tunnels lead."
She points east. "There's the armory."
She point at the tunnel in the middle. "Jakkol the seer lies there. He was once the tribe's priest of the infernal duke Vapula, but was cast aside when this tribe swore devotion to the dragon named Lord Aeteperax."
She points west. "That tunnel leads to another juncture, from where you can go to the seer, the rats' nest, and the target practice room. The latter room will lead to the lower level."

![]() |

Ery pauses a moment.
"Ah."
He says with a cold shudder. "Aeteperax... A Dragon. So...this tribe is being lead by a dragon. We suspected...but I had always hoped that wasn't the case... Heheh..."
Ery becomes notably anxious.
"Shall we grab this Jakkol figure to aid us in retaking your tribe then, Nighttail?"

![]() |

In zat case, I suggest we at least talk to him. Maybe he can use words to convince ze others in ze tribe to stand aside as you challange ze chief.
Plus, I would like to hear more about ze wonders of zis Lord Aereperax. I would guess ze Seer knows ze most about him, right?

![]() |

"I believe i've once heard tales, of bathing in dragon blood giving invulnerability.
Granted, those who had tried even killing the dragon itself, had perished."
Locke muses as the group walks.

![]() |

Urbar silently follows everyone as they go to see the seer.

StephNyan |

You head into the middle tunnel and enter another cave. A single small pallet heaped with furs sits against the south wall of this cave. An aged kobold, his green scales dull and his eyes shut tight, lies on the pallet.
"I can tell by your scent that you are strangers here, except for Nighttail and her pet," the old kobold says as you enter. "If my nose tells the truth, you bring the destruction I foretold. Good... good. I had hoped to see our ruin before journeying to the afterworld, but I will settle for listening to it. Beware the great scaly beast, strangers. He seems to speak reason, but his words are poison. And his bats, the ones he called from the darkness... they are harbingers of lunacy and chaos... Dread Lord Aeteperax will surely be your doom as he has been ours."
As if the act of speaking was too much, after delivering this cryptic and ominous message the aged kobold dies.

![]() |

Gwen raises an eyebrow as the old seer suddenly dies. "That was... Odd." She takes a quick look around and notice the seer is clutching something. "Any of you know what this thing might be?"

![]() |
Fiona ponders the seer's last words, "I think the 'great scaly beast' is the dragon, Aeteperax. The seer appears to have lamented his tribe, which easily fell victim to the dragon's words and magic. We should keep an eye open for those bats."
She then picks up the phylactery from Jakkol's lifeless hands and examines it closely for about a minute, repeatedly turning it around in her hands, but soon thereafter she shakes her head and admits she has been unable to figure out its purpose or properties.
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15

![]() |

"Just hold on to it for now, Fiona. We can tink with it later."
Ery looks nervous as he contantly checks the hall from wence they came.
"Not to point out the obvious...but...as seductive as I can be... I don't believe I can seduce a dragon...especially a dragon who happens to be a lunatic."

![]() |

"Avoiding the rats then. I say."

![]() |

Urbar moves to go to the next level, both swords drawn.
"I think we're done on this level."
Anyone may of course stop him if you want to go elsewhere!

![]() |

Maybe we should stop at ze Armory and zen head down?
Tereze seems distracted as she says this, looking intently at the seer.
Should I have tried healing the vermin? They are pests and not true intelligent beings... But he was alive... It may have just been his time, if so who am I to interfere with the will of the Lady of Graves?

![]() |

"Fine. Lets go poke around in the armory filled with rats and discarded kobold dreams..."

StephNyan |

No, I did not :o
"Alright!" says Nighttail. "Let's go to the armory, then avoid the room with the rats on our way to the next level."
You head toward the armory (B12) and find the tunnel to this room is locked with a wooden gate.
Nighttail shrugs. "I don't have the key, but maybe one of you can unlock it."

![]() |

Locke? Do you want to try?

![]() |

Urbar looks at Locke.
"I'm not gonna kick that in, would you unlock it? I'd like to be one my way..."
He says annoyed that the group isn't progressing.

![]() |

"Okay, make sure you're ready to shoot if something is behind the door."
Perception on the door, is it safe?: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
Lockpicking: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (9) + 11 = 20
Alternatively, if this door isn't trapped, i can continue until i eventually get it.

![]() |

Ery just lightly hums to himself. he breaks the quiet music after a thought pops into his head.
"So lets pretend that the kobolds are some how imbued with this dragon's favor... even if its just false hope spawn be being lead by a chromatic beast... We'll have to purge them. We cant talk sense into someone who believes they are imbued with the power of 'god'.."
Ery sighs, placing a hand on his chin. "Locke will have to rig the entire cave to explode. It's the only way." He jokes in a half-series shrug.

![]() |

Tereze raises an eyebrow
Really Elf, tell me more about zose who are imbued with power from ze gods. Zey can not be reasoned with and...
She crosses her arms under her breasts and waits trying hard to keep a smirk off her face.

![]() |

"You've just effectively insulted clerics and oracles alike...i'm standing aside on this encounter."
An anticipating smile hides underneath the mask.
This conversation should be good, going by that tone.

![]() |

Gwen looks up when Ery mentions trying to talk sense into those who believe they are empowered by a god. "Ery, aren't you a priest of Calistria?" She tosses from her location, not quite ready to explain to her companions that her own surprising skill with fighting is in part due to her dedication to Falayna...

![]() |

Raising a finger to counter their points...Ery found himself with out words. It looked as if he was trying to speak...but nothing came out. His eyes shifted around as if searching for a rational retort... but nothing. His hands fell to his sides and his head hung low.
"I'll eat my own foot on this day." He said sadly.
"Can we still purge the kobolds?'

![]() |

Urbar watches the discussion and shakes his head.
"Will you quit squabbling?! You sound like a bunch of children..."
He says in an agitated voice before mumbling something under his breath.
"Are you done with that door Locke? You sure are taking your time..."
Last line is since the GM didn't respond yet, I have seen you trying to lockpick the door ^^

![]() |

Tereze looks at Gwen and says a rapid string of foreign words.
