StephNyan |

Tereze's eagle tries to bite the sentry in the north tower, but he dodges the bird's attack.
Gwendallyn tries to burst the door in, but fails again.
The tea servitor unlocks and opens his door, revealing the empty interior of the tower he's in. He steps out of the tower and heads toward the southwest tower.
"Follow me, friend," he tells Eryzule. "We'll go talk to John and clear this up."

"Oh. Well alright. Oh, Hey, while we pass the door, would you mind unlocking the center column for us too?"
Ery asks, motioning to the door coming up on their right. Following just behind Tea-Servitor.

Strength check: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Gwen's attempt to kick the door open are thwarted by the strongest door in the history of the Inner Seas...

![]() |

Oh, for the God's sake. Vicard blusters and brushes past Gwen, trying to open the door by main force. "It is a double-pinioned barrel lock. No way to force that in with your shoulder. Have to be clever...'. With that, the investigator kneels to the keyhole, pulls out some lock picks and works on the devious lock.

![]() |

Gwen glares at Vicard as he brushes past her, clearly frustrated by her failed attempts. "Then do so, Vicard, and quit trying to poke the crossbowman!" She growls at him... less angry with him than she is at the situation...
Gotta roleplay that 8 Charisma somehow :)

"Ugh..."
Urbar gurgles as he goes down again.
Stabilize roll: 1d20 + 1 - 3 ⇒ (16) + 1 - 3 = 14
Finally a roll over 10!!!!

![]() |
Fiona's mind clarifies a bit just as Vicard picks the lock amidst much confusion - the others seem to have failed to break it down or force istopen. Since there was nothing she could do to help there, she picks up some more dirt and throws it in the general direction of the nearby guard, hissing at him a few words.

"I'm working as fast as I can, you can't rush these things." He says to Gwen, taking her annoyed words in stride. He grunts as he watches Urbar go down again, but it looks like the arrow plugged the bleeding.
"Serves you right for almost getting us all killed." he adds to the fallen ranger, but his words lack real bite.

Tereze reaches down and touches Urbar with her glowing hand again, healing his wounds.
Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
She then srands back up and watches to see what Erys friend does.

StephNyan |

"Let me first talk to John," the tea servitor tells Eryzule. "I'll let you in afterward. Have you ever met Nessian? You should really meet him, I bet you'll get along!"
Gwendallyn isn't able to kick in the mythic door of kick denial, but Vicard pushes her aside and unlocks it. He pushes the door open and it's revealed the tower's interior is remarkably empty.
Will: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (2) - 1 = 1
Fiona throws up some dirt and throws it at the sentry. She hisses a few words, after which the sentry drops to the floor.
Tereze heals Urbar, but not enough to let him regain consciousness.
The tea servitor moves up behind Tereze and sees John's on the floor. "Ah, I see he's taking a nap. Oh well, we'll talk to him later."
The tea servitor then walks over to the main building's door. "Give me a moment. I know I've got the key somewhere..."
Unless you want to go after red: combat's over!
Urbar ends up at -1/12HP.

![]() |

Vicard's face as he looks on Ery and the new tea servitor is priceless. While Ery has simply strolled in, they have bled, fallen, battered and fought for nothing. Soon, the grim investigator hoists up his jaw and grinds out, "Nice to meet you. Well played, Ery, well played." there is a note of true respect in the grinding tones.
Vicard steps inside, pulling Urbar after him. He would be safer inside the building, and not sitting where anyone could see them. "Easy on the key there, mate." He says quietly to the tea servitor. "Give us a minute to prepare ourselves before we meet Nessian. You know how particular he can be."

![]() |

Tereze slips inside the room after Vicard and Urbar. She steps near Urbar and kneels down next to his body.
Quietly she prays
Lady Dawnflower bless us now.
Let this man rise like the dawn.

"Seems you guys did well."
the elf takes note of his comrade's conditions then smirks, chuckling lightly as he takes out his journal.
"Hey, perchance, what is Nessian paying you to be here?"
Ery places a warm hand on the Servitor's shoulder.

![]() |

Urbar regains consciousness and sees Tereze above him.
"Thanks... Seem to have some problems today."
He gets up and sees that he is inside.
"You got the door then, Gwen?"
As he turns around he sees the guy lying on the floor. Once the tea servitor has turned around he bends down and loots the man, taking all armor, weapons and items from him. He then follows everyone inside.

![]() |

Tereze replies kindly to Urbar Next time I suggest you wait for ze rest of us. We are stronger when we work together zen when we try zis alone.
She then closes her eyes and prays filling the room again with a golden mist.
Channel Energy to heal Urbar: 1d6 ⇒ 3

![]() |

"I make friends when I'm alone."
Ery looked back to Tereze with a smile and wink.

![]() |

Gwen pats Vicard on the shoulder when he picks the lock. "Good job." She sighs as the pleasant golden mist soothes her remaining wounds from one of their several encounters with the undead.
She flushes a little and mumbles something inaudible beneath her breath at Urbar's comments, but then adds. "That was Vicard's handiwork, I cannot take credit for the door." She then whacks Urbar upside the head. "Do not run out there like that again. If not for Tereze you'd still be bleeding out there with several bolts sticking out of your body."

![]() |

GM, do you want to post before we try to kick in another door or not?
Vicard sighs heavily, and nods agreement with Gwen. "I'm not your captain to order you, Urbar, but common sense should have stopped you. You are going to get killed if you charge like that again, for no reason but impatience."
He turns to Tereze then saying, "Once again, you save us from our wounds. Thank the Gods you are here with us." and true gratitude fills his voice.

![]() |

Tereze looks up and says: You should be zanking Fiona too, she has helped at least as much as I have. she stands up looking tired. I just hope ze gods above grant me enough grace to keep us all going. I feel like can not do too much more today.

![]() |

Looking about, the elf shook his head.
"You all just need hobbies."

![]() |

"Hobbies like what, hanging out with idle guardsmen?" Vicard says, nodding to the friendly seeming tea servitor."We've been a bit busy to take up whittling or knitting."

StephNyan |

@Vicard: If you wanted to head over to the door, you didn't have to wait for me ;)
@Urbar: You're at 4/12HP now.
The tea servitor shrugs when Eryzule asks him about the pay. "Not enough, really, but you don't leave Nessian. He's a good fellow to have on your side when you get in trouble, and that's worth a lot."
"Anyway... shall we head over to Nessian, or do you need more preparations? Not sure what you're preparing for, though. Are you going to surprise him?"

![]() |

"Of course we are. Despite Vicard here being a bit on the lower end of the family, He is Nessian's Nephew!"
Ery says, pulling VIcard into himself at the shoulder.
"I've been tasked with this ward for some time. I was in the area and figured I'd surprise him with a visit. The others here are His wife, my wife, and the estranged cousin."
The elf motions Gwen as Vicard's wife and Tereze as his own. Leaving only Urbar to be the odd man out.
"Anyway, if you please...this will be a family matter. I'll pay you for your time now. but He wont be needing you until tomorrow morning. You understand, right?

![]() |

Urbar flinches when being scoffed by Gwen and Tereze. He only offers one solemn reply to the feedback he is given.
"I am used to working alone. That is all."
He waits to see what will happen next.

StephNyan |

The tea servant shakes his head. "I can't abandon my post for much longer, but I'll let you in before I return. Though I should probably wake up John first, before going to my post."
He takes the key from his pocket. "I'll get you in first, friends! Follow me!"
The tea servitor heads over to the main building's door and unlocks it. "False alarm!" he says to the two men on the building's main floor. "It's just Nessian's family, paying him a surprise visit. don't tell him yet, 'kay?"
The men nod and wave at you when you enter the building. "What's up?" one of them asks you.
"I'll be off then," the tea servitor says. "Someone has to wake John up. He fell asleep, again, during guard duty."

![]() |

Tereze says quietly to the men Can you keep your voice down please. We want to surprise Nessian. This is his nephew and his wife as well as his cousin and her husband.. She nods at Vicard/Gwen and Fiona/Urbar in turn. He brought us in to help with one of the parts of ze operation he is pulling, and we wanted to report our success to him personally.
Oh and you two may want to check on that guard out there. John was it? He seemed really deeply asleep, we even tried pounding on the door to wake him up and it didn't work. You both may need to carry him back in here if you can't wake him up. We will wait here and cover for you two while you bring him back. Unless zat is you two want us to just head up now?
Bluff: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
Diplomacy to convince them to go: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16
If they both go, Tereze is going to tell Vicard to close and jam the lock on the door.

Gwen nods to the men as she is introduced, but remains silent. She is great in a fight, but words were not her forte. 'Leave the wordsmithing to those who are trained at it.'

StephNyan |

Both thugs inside the tower buy the lies. Since they were both inside just so they could rest they don't have any obligations and both decide to check out how John's doing.
"We'll be right back," one of the thugs says. "Nessian's upstairs, by the way."
"You idiots!" a voice says from upstairs, soon followed by hasty footsteps.
A man moves down the stairs, holding a composite longbow. "They're no family of mine, take them out! EVERYONE GET OVER HERE!"

Ery raises a brow after watching his plan flatten like that of a pancake. With a heavy sigh the elf ponderes further, watching his peers take ass and kick names.
After watching muscles tackle a guy, Ery laughed.

Another battle, Fiona thought to herself as the party's ruse failed. This one seemed more difficult because of the more enemies they were facing. The danger seemed to clear Fiona's mind from her endless thoughts while sharpening her responses. She took a few steps to improve her position, getting a better view of the battlefield. Trying to take as many thugs out as possible, at least temporarily was the best option, leaving most of the attention on the thug leader. Fiona squinted for a second, trying to recall his name, but as Gwen took a punch to the side, she shook her head and quickly cast one of her hexes at another thug.

"They got Nessian!" John yells, then runs off.
Combat's over!
Nessian spits at Gwendallyn. "Get off me!"

![]() |

"Now now, Nessian." Vicard says mildly, squatting down next to the pinned criminal. "I would speak more gently if I were you. I've seen her rip a man's arms off as easy as you do a chicken leg.". He lets this sink in before putting his face in close to the pinned man.
"Let's get down to basics, Nessian. Where is the codebook? Tell us and maybe we don't rip your arms off. Or worse, I'll let Ery have you." He nods towards the elf, with no hint of a smile on his cragged face.
I don't think I need to intimidate here? He is at our mercy.
